Ezah flinched slightly, " it's nothing really, I've had them for awhile "

Mai looked concerned when he flinched " come on talk to me.."

Ezah shook his head " I can't..not yet.."

"Why not?"

" be sure I can't alright!" He huffed, his voice cracking harshly

Mai jumped back a little "Ezah…"

Ezah was crying now. His body heaving with every sob. " I.. I kill people! And I brought a child that has to bare with my .. my curse… I've ruined an innocent child's life forever!" He sobbed " I.. I'm a monster!"

"Baby…" Mai held onto ezah as she kissed his cheek " it's going to be okay I promise."

" no it won't! It has to kill to survive! "

"We'll think of something.. We always do."

" .. I'm scared"

"Don't be it will all be okay." Mai was scared too but she didn't want ezah to see it

Ezah held tightly to the other

Mai began to hum the same song as before trying to calm down ezah

Ezah kept trying to calm down, still crying softly

Mai rubbed his back continuing to hum the song,

Ezahs pain eventually dulled back as he fell back asleep, clinging to Mai weally

Mai stayed up all night thinking about what ezah had said" you are not a monster ezah you do what you have to do to survive it's not your fault " she whispered holding him tightly

Ezah slept solemnly

She stayed awake for the rest of the night just holding him and listening to the rise and fall of his chest

Once morning or.. something of a morning came, ezah woke unwillingly

Mai raised her head looking at ezah with tiered eyes "hey.."

" baby.. did you not sleep?"

"Uh yeah I slept."

" stop lying.."
