I really enjoy roleplaying but it can get greatly confusing if several people are trying to join. So for my sake and yours, the first to place a character profile here gets to be in the roleplay. Not hating on characters like these, but I would prefer straight characters that are either male or female for this specific roleplay. I would also like to avoid swearing if it can be helped.

My character:

Name: Kaysen
Gender: Male
Age: Roughly 17 or 18
Looks: He has jet black hair with turquoise highlights that is similar to a crewcut. His skin is pale. He has turquoise eyes. Probably about 5"6 or 5"7.
Personality: He has a bit of a temper but is mainly chill even in the most dire of situations. He is fiercely loyal to those who are helpless or his friends.
Powers: He has the ability to control water (similar to a water bender lol). He can also change into a sword (it is black with glowing turquoise wavy lines in it) that can give the wielder the ability to control water and fly. He can also communicate to/ read the mind of the wielder

(Sure! just send a character profile and we'll get started! Also, if I suddenly drop off for an unknown reason it just means life and I will get back to it at a free moment :) )

@Emmrii

Name: Alaina “Laney” de Lugo
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Looks: Alaina is a Hispanic woman with waist length dark brown hair and almond shaped brown eyes. She is around 5’2”.
Personality: While she can come off as quiet and timid around people she does not know well, Alaina is an incredibly gentle and considerate person. She is incredibly smart and slightly insecure.
Extra: Alaina can control any sort of plant life. She is also an amateur mechanic, and she loves to work on cars in her free time.

Kaysen woke to the sound of birds. Funny, he was just asleep in his room a few moments ago… The grass tickled, the breeze swirled around him. A bird twittered, a stream bubbled nearby, and the trees seemed to whisper among themselves. He could hear the soft touch of the leaves as they fell to the ground and the sun shined warmly through the branches. Even the chatter of insects provided a special kind of peace in an unknown land. But Kaysen still had no clue where he lay and was determined to find out. As he prepared to sit up and have a look around, he suddenly realized why everything appeared foggy to his eyes. He did not have them, for he was in his alternate form. He was a sword.

@Emmrii

Dreams had always been such a strange phenomenon for Alaina. She didn’t have dreams very often— at most once a month— but when she did, they felt more real than reality itself.

Most of her dreams started the same; she would be in bed, trying to relax, and before she knew it, she would be lying in the grass under the pale blue sky. Every once of these dreams would go the same way. She would often walk through the field, feeling a strange sense of peace deep in her soul, before she wake up back in her bed. It had been this way ever since she was a child, but when she woke up in the field on the night of August 21st, things felt… different. This place had always felt ethereal and magical, but there was something strange going on. Something had changed.

Alaina began to walk through the field, the tall grass brushing up against her legs. At first, she tried to ignore the feeling that something was off, but it wasn’t long before she came upon something unexpected. A sword was hidden in the grass.

Kaysen sensed the presence of something moving toward him. He couldn't see or hear like people can in his present state, but it was similar and made possible by the magic he was created with.

When the strange girl with long hair approached him, he somehow felt out of danger. Usually he was suspicious of whomever he crossed, but the dark eyes of this hispanic woman seemed calm and peaceful. But the inch of caution still pecked his sword-like brain, and he remained silent even as the girl reached down to pick him up.

@Emmrii

(Oh, and btw, I didn’t remember to mention this earlier so sorry about that. 😂 If there is any romance in this rp, I would like to keep it at a PG level. I’m totally fine with kissing, hugging, stuff like that, but I stay away from sexual themes.)

Now this was new. Most of her dreams involved lying in the grass, walking through the rivers, and occasionally climbing up trees. She’d never found a sword here before. For a moment, she figured that another person might be nearby. After all, swords don’t just appear out of nowhere; it likely belonging to someone before they left it in the field. However, this was a dream, Alaina reminded herself, and it didn’t have to make sense. So, without another thought, she continued on, clutching her skirts with one hand and the sword with another.

(Oh yeah, same! Lol, you probably won't even get any romance unless you want to throw it in there, but yeah I feel the same way.😁)

She thought it was a dream. All of it, everything. According to his mind-reading ability, she had similar dreams like this before, but none felt so real to her and none involved swords. Well, Kaysen was most definitely not just a sword, but she didn't need to know that. Not yet…

Where is she taking me? He wondered, being careful to keep his thoughts from communicating to the girl. After a quick search of her mind, he realized she was going nowhere. She just… walked. Like it was a dream. Great.

Kaysen suddenly noticed something strange. The tall blades of grass would bend toward the girl wherever she walked, but the breeze was silent now. They seemed not to stretch or want to touch her, but were merely content to bow in her wake. Kaysen tentatively tried to find out why, but that part of the girl's brain was securely blocked from his telepathic abilities. Near this solid wall of stone, however, was the girl's name.

Alaina…

@Emmrii

(( I normally throw some romance in just because I love ✨drama✨ but anything works for me ))

Alaina walked through the valley for a while, dragging the sword behind her. She was hoping to find someone else nearby— maybe a village or town— but she found nothing except for miles and miles of pasture. Eventually, Alaina found a forest near the field, and the undergrowth seemed to part for her as she walked between the trees. Up ahead, she could hear the rushing river, and she figured she could rest there and clean off the sword.

Deleted user

(Kaysen has never had a love life before, so I don't really know how that would go….)

After miles of walking, the girl–Alaina–stumbled upon a forest.
Good, he thought, Maybe here I can find a way to slip away… Her uncharted path brought her to a river. It was too wide to jump across but shallow enough to wade at waist-high. Kaysen agreed that he was quite filthy and could use a clean in the cool water.

Water! The idea suddenly struck him, and if he had a face he would be grinning wildly. She walked up to the river's edge and dipped him in. Summoning his powers, he made the water snatch himself away from her grasp. He was about to be swept down river, but before he knew it, the tall grass on the side of water snatched him out again. There was a brief tug-of-war between water and plant, but in the end the plant won. The girl muttered to herself and picked him back up, moving him away from the edge. He decided it would be best to not try anymore tricks… for now.

Deleted user

(She can talk in her native language at some point if she's like that. After reading her mind, Kaysen now understands her language. It's one of his powers lol)

@Emmrii

(( Alaina mainly talks in English, but I may have her speak Spanish from time to time just for the heck of it. And I’m good with anything regarding romance. Whatever works for the rp :))

Now this was strange. The river’s currents didn’t seem to be strong at all, but the sword was ripped from her hands as if it had a mind of its own. This shouldn’t have been much of a surprise for Alaina; after all, this was a dream, and dreams often don’t make sense when compared to reality. However, this still stunned Alaina, and she gathered up her skirts before she waded into the icy water. It didn’t take her long to retrieve the sword and drag it back onto the shore.

“Let’s not try that again, alright?” she said, shivering from the cold as she tried her best to dry her feet. “I’m going to get hypothermia if I keep that up.”

Deleted user

(Sweet! Let's try romance, I want to see how it goes…)

So, Alaina had some kind of superpower involving plants. It became obvious to Kaysen during his struggle at the river. He wasn't sure why the girl still wanted to carry him around. He guessed the thought of having a weapon served the girl a bit of peace. He knew he shouldn't try any more escape attempts; at least not for a while.
If the sword-boy had eyes, he would be rolling them. Alaina still thought this was some sort of dream and he was getting tired of it. Being as careful as he can be, he transferred a quiet thought into the girl's head.

It's not a dream…

@Emmrii

(( Oh yeah, sure! It can work sometimes and completely fail other times; kinda just depends on character chemistry. ))

With the thought first entered her head, Alaina was slightly startled by it. Somehow, she understood that that thought didn’t come from her own mind. But where did it come from?

“Not a dream, huh?” She snorted at the thought. “Well, this sure feels like one. It isn’t often that I wake up in a field in the middle of nowhere.”

Alaina paused for a moment before she picked up the sword and began to examine it. It was an interesting artifact, to say the least. The blade of the sword was dark with lines of turquoise running through it. She didn’t know much about swords, but she did know that a lot of time and effort must’ve been put into the creation of the weapon.

Oops. She knew the thought wasn't hers. He had tried to make it quiet but forgot that his thoughts can be loud to humans. Since they had their own voice, he could never get away with it. He hid himself away then, waiting to see what would happen.

When dreaming she usually wakes in a field in the middle of nowhere. Fair enough. But he knew it wasn't a dream, and wished the girl would realize it too so they could actually go somewhere.

Heck yeah. Kaysen was specially crafted by the best blacksmith in the whole world! Well… his world at least. Her studying gave him the opportunity to study her as well. Her skin was a pleasant tan without the slightest hint of blemish. Her hair was perfectly straight and fell partway over her small shoulders. Her fingers were lean as they brushed over the side of his polished blade. Her eyes were the same color as her hair, but they retained gold flecks in them that were somewhat… beautiful. Now Kaysen must be going crazy. Never once has he called a girl beautiful like he just did. He had to get out.

How… How? He was panicking, feeling trapped, There's got to be a way… somehow to slip away. I've got to get out… let me out…

He had no clue that his blue-green lines were glowing. No idea that his thoughts were leaking through to Alaina…

@Emmrii

Alaina stood there, stunned as more thoughts continued to flood into her mind. At first, she was confused about where these thoughts were coming from; apparently, she reading someone’s mind. It wasn’t until the mention of the person being created by the best blacksmith in the world that she realized she was reading the mind of something that wasn’t human. Were these thoughts actually coming from the sword?

She glanced down at the weapon again, her eyes wide with wonder. The turquoise streaks in the sword’s blade were now glowing, affirming her suspicion that it was not a normal sword. Was someone trapped inside it? The idea seemed outlandish, but with everything that had been happening to her lately, Alaina had no doubt that it was possible.

“Let you out?” she said softly, raising an eyebrow. “How am I supposed to let you out?”

It felt weird talking to an object, but Alaina needed answers. She needed someone to help her or at least tell her what was going on.

Perfect. Kaysen thought, Now she knows.
He felt trapped. He had to get out. Out of his sword form, out of the confusing walls of her thoughts muddied with his. He needed to breathe.

He needed to transform.

In a bright flash of white, the sword became a boy right in front of the girl's eyes. He barely registered her, however, and he landed on his hands and knees, his breath somewhat ragged and rushed. Due to the magic, he was fully dressed in black jeans and a simple, turquoise t-shirt that brought out the brightness in his greenish eyes and matching highlights in his jet-black crewcut hair. He swayed slightly and had to slow his intake of oxygen. He always felt light headed after a transformation…

After a moment of feeling the grass tickling his hands and the cool breeze caressing his face, he looked up into the terrified eyes of Alaina.

@Emmrii

She knew there was something strange about the sword, but the last thing she expected was for it to transform into a boy before her eyes. She flew to her feet, stumbling back towards the river. Her eyes were wide with fear.

“Who are you?” she said, her voice quivering slightly. “And why are you here?”

Alaina reached back, trying to find her knife, but she quickly realized that it wasn’t there. She was defenseless, standing alone near a river with a man she had never seen before. This day kept getting weirded and weirder.

Kaysen stood quickly as the girl stumbled back.
"No, wait-!" He started, but a wave of nausea took over him, and he collapsed back to the ground.
Why was he so dizzy? His eyes were blurring and his ears began to ring. This never happened after a transformation.
Through the fog, he could faintly hear one of the girl's terrified questions;

"Who are you…"

"Kaysen…" he mumbled, shaking his head to try and get rid of the blur in his eyes.

@Emmrii

She watched as the man collapsed on the ground, writhing in pain. She felt a sort of sympathy for him, but at the same time, she didn’t approach him. Not only did she not trust the stranger, but she she also didn’t want to somehow make the pain worse by touching him.

“Kaysen. That’s your name?”

She watched him for a few moments, curious, before she offered him her water bottle. It was the only item she had with her when she woke up in the field, and she had filled it with water when she stopped by the river. Sure, the water inside probably tasted like fish, but she was dying of thirst.

“Here.” She pushed the bottle towards him. “That might help.”

Deleted user

He shook his head again, breathing hard, and realized a bottle was presented to him. Water; that's what he needed. He took it gratefully and took a couple of gulps. He sat back, running his hand through his hair, the dizziness finally subsiding. He took another dip of the water, and realized with a bit of disgust it tasted slightly metallic, but he was very thankful for it. Now that he could properly see, he noticed with a wince that Alaina was standing well away from him, her eyes wide.

"Sorry," He apologized, his voice sounding a bit horse, "That doesn't normally happen… Thank you. For the water."
