" that's amazing buddy" he chuckled and nudge the bot with his finger " I'm really proud. We'll have to show Malcolm when he gets up!"

Bax flashed once, doing a little happy dance. It held onto the bolt.

Hiro laughed " let's go before he has a kiniption for that I'm gone."

Bax flashed again, climbing up onto Hiro’s shoulder, still holding the bolt. The other bot followed.

Hiro got back to camp and looked around "hmm?"

Four bots were still at the camp, but Malcolm and the other two bots were gone.

" hey Malcolm? Malcolm!" He called

An annoyed groan from nearby sounded, and a few moments later Malcolm and the two missing bots reappeared.

“Can’t an old man take a piss in peace?”he grumbled. He clearly had just woken up.

" don't fucking scare me like that! I thought something happened!" He cussed

Malcolm snorted, unfazed by his tone.

“I was literally about ten-twenty fucking feet away. And I’m pretty sure you don’t want to see an old man’s dick hanging out at any time, so we’ll just settle this as a situation of bad timing,”he replied calmly.

" whatever." He said and growled to himself. Hiro sat down and started playing with bax " get the bolt bub, get the bolt"

Bax flashed excitedly, still holding the bolt. It set the bolt down and backed away, activating its magnetism again. The bolt stuck to it and Bax did a little happy dance.

Malcolm sat down, watching the pair. When Bax caught the bolt, his eyes widened. An evolution. Already? Astonishing!

Hiro smiles " now, pull the metal flakes from the dirt" he said and laid a pile of dirt for bax

Bax studied the dirt for a moment, then its light turned grey again. After a moment, small bits of metal flew from the dirt to stick to its legs. Bax seemed overjoyed by this.

Malcolm continued to watch, fascinated.

" good boy!" Hiro praised and smiled

Bax deactivated its magnetism, set the bolt to the side, then piled the metal flakes onto it. It flashed at the pair, waving its legs to show them.

As Malcolm watched, he was steadily getting ideas on things to add to Bax that would help the little bot develop its ability. He had never encountered magnetism among his creations, so he wanted to see how far it would progress with Bax.

" Bax, go to Malcolm for a minute," he said as he took the metal and shaped small armor " now bax"

Bax flashed, going over to Malcolm and waiting. Malcolm held out his hand and Bax climbed up onto it.

“You are a fascinating little guy,”Malcolm commented. Bax flashed, doing a little happy dance at his words.

" bax, attract these" he said as he finished the armor

Malcolm set Bax down, watching curiously. Bax turned, curious, then activated its magnetism. The armor stuck to it. Malcolm snickered as Bax did another happy dance.

Hiro chuckled and held his hand out " good boy.."

Bax walked over to Hiro’s hand, flashing happily.

Malcolm hummed, calculating. Could he somehow integrate a voice box of sorts into Bax? He likely could, but what to do. He had a variety of little voice boxes, such as one that could give Bax an actual voice, while another would just be noises, and another was only able to be used via the link the spy nanobots created.

Hiro put the bot on his shoulder and relaxed into a light sleep. The dark circles were getting darker underneath hiros eyes

Bax settled on his shoulder, content.

Malcolm watched the two, noticing Hiro’s eyes. A part of him wanted to ask if he was okay, while another questioned why he was even concerned. Though, another part pointed out that it wouldn’t be good to let Hiro go to waste, since he was currently a one of a kind individual until Malcolm made the other.

Malcolm hummed, shaking his head to clear away the disorienting thoughts.

“Kid, how have you been sleeping?”he asked.

Hiro opened his eyes " like normal, why?" He said casually. He couldn't talk about how he was up and down all night every night
