Basically, I have characters that are either fantasy creatures, or aliens, or live in a dystopian world where all the jobs are different. But sometimes I like to do headcanons where I give them ordinary jobs. It's fun lol. Here are some of mine, and the jobs they actually have in my story's canon:
Mike:
Canon job: Dystopian monster-hunter/animal control, basically.
Ordinary job: I feel like he'd either be a cop or some kind of park ranger ^^
Bernon:
Canon job: Same as Mike, and before that he was just a wanderer.
Ordinary job: I think he'd make a great journalist. He loves to meet new people, see new things, and record his experiences in his notebooks as carefully as he can. He's always on the lookout for history in the making, and stays pretty up-to-date on current events.
Boar-back:
Canon job: He's the leader of a powerful bandit tribe in the New England area, same story as Mike and Bernon.
Ordinary job: So despite what you might think, his personality is chill, responsible, and almost fatherly around people he cares about. He's not fazed by much of anything and he's incredibly patient. I think he'd be a teacher for special-needs kids or something like that.
Urth:
Canon job: He's basically the god of nature/life.
Ordinary job: I mean, the obvious choice is gardener or something like that, but I think he also has the potential for a creative career like painting, perhaps.
Morgan:
Canon job: I guess his job is just to generally cause havoc, and to do what his creator, the god of time/fate, tells him to do. He's a minor villain in a story separate from the others.
Ordinary job: In what world would he not be an overly bubbly gay barista honestly
Tide:
Canon job: None, except guard his territory and family. He's one of the monsters that Mike and Bernon hunt lol
Ordinary job: If he were a human, he'd so be a member of the coast guard. He'd probably do a lot of work related to cleaning up litter and pollution as well.

Ram: He actually HAD a real world job, owner of a overseas trade business. But after his life took the turn it did, he definitely wouldn't want to do that anymore. He would probably make the world's best bodyguard, but he wouldn't want to do that either. He'd end up as a pizza delivery man, I'm sure of it.
Osric: Not a thing on earth could stop this man from being a youtuber. He's got every skill required.
Carson: That's actually really easy, he'd be a model. That man's handsome as all get out, and honestly would probably enjoy it a lot.
Mehri: She's really hard. But honestly? She could probably make a dang good actress, but I don't know that she'd like that very much. She'd probably only show up in small indie movies.

Cannon Job: Chimney sweep
Modern AU Job: He's too young for most jobs so I think he's pretty much limited to being a paper boy, which I can actually see him doing.
Kit
Cannon Job: He's the crown prince
Modern AU Job: Modern AU Kit doesn't have a job. He just leeches off of his rich parents. He's probably also the class president at some really pretentious private school.

Cannon Job: Healer
Modern AU Job: The obvious thing to say would be a doctor (or at least someone who wants to go into that field since he's too young to be an actual doctor). But I can also see him wanting to do something a little more behind the scenes like some kind of medical research job. Can also see him doing some tutoring as like a side thing to put him through school or something like that.

Cannon Job: Also a healer
Modern AU Job: Again, the obvious answer is a doctor, but I can kinda see her wanting to go more into psychology.

Modern AU: Probably some sort of zoology, entomology, etc. Definitely something dealing with animals. The wackier the better.

Canon Job: Technically doesn't have a real job at the moment. He's working as a fighter for the yet unnamed anti-dragon resistance, but actually, he's a double agent. He formerly worked a combination of farming and patrolling/fighting.

(In this world, jobs are more widely available and easier to get at a young age. As an example Catiline is qualified for a teaching position in this world, but in the modern world she would be too young and inexperienced.)

Canon job: Borderline soldier (to fight of monsters who have crossed over city borders)
Modern job: Too young to actually obtain a law enforcement job or join any branch of the military. She would more than likely just settle with being a barista. Mostly cause she also wants to be a bartender but also is too young for that job as well.
Tyler:
Canon job: Sword-fighting coach
Modern job: High school/College swim coach. Has always dreamed of being a swim coach of a high school or college team.
Kandy:
Canon job: Field medic
Modern job: A doctor. Not much else to say.

Modern job: English tutor/substitute teacher. She wouldn't be old enough or nearly experienced enough to achieve a full-time teacher's position.
