I do caricatures and cartoons, I cannot do lifelike drawing for the life of me
Me neither to be honest
I try to, but in the end… Like said before, everything dies

I’m capable of drawing animals and girls but boys??? I can’t. I just can’t. I need to get over my fear and just practice drawing them but every time I say “oh yeah I can do this” I just end up lying on the ground like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and everything crashes and burns around me and my self esteem hits an all time low and I’m betrayed by my own grandma or something I dunno how but when I try to draw a boy everything dies.
Ikr I have that exact same problem! My best friend can draw girls and boys i am so jealous!! lol really tho, can anyone here give us some tips on drawing boys?
Unsure how to explain that…

My best friend has always been able to draw boys and girls really well, however she draws in a more anime/chibi/cartoonish style while I prefer semi-realism, so she's never able to help me. Also since I'm an overly supportive friend who can't talk to people without advertising her I'm just going to mention that she has a YT channel called Artist4EverAfter in case anyone wants to go subscribe to it.
:T
I die when it comes to realistic stuff
@NutEllaDraws
Semi-realism! I could hug you if I could. I was trying to think of the right word but couldn't for the life of me. That's the style I prefer.
How on earth did you do 30 styles in that challenge? I would have run out on like day 4-5. I love doing those kinds of challenges, but I have never seen that one.

I didn’t even spend that much time on it either….
Just… I like doing that kind of stuff all the time.

I bet your stuff is just as wonderful!
I can't draw people for the life of me, which is kind of a problem considering I want to turn my story into a webcomic. I can do backgrounds and coloring, but actually drawing the people is where I always run into problems. I know I could probably improve if I had enough practice, but like. I have 52 characters so it's hard enough just figuring the story out without having to worry about how to draw them all out.
Hands.
Are.
So.
Evil.
I try to avoid drawing people for that reason, but it just gets to be soooo haaard…..

Not sure if this is helpful, but I've seen a few people on Webtoon who have an artist or illustrator. Maybe you could work with someone and have them draw you characters while you write the story?

(Oooohhh! I can do people and am working on a webcomic too, but I can't do backgrounds/coloring for the life of me! I've been looking for someone [IRL, 'cause Idon't know how to collab over internet] to do those things with me.)

Hands and male lips are the bane of my entire existence. I can draw lips on female characters just fine, but whenever I try to draw them on my male characters it comes out looking really weird and feminine.

Yeah, I've been trying to find someone to work with me. So far all the artists whose style I've liked aren't up for it or just aren't that serious about their art to work on something like that.

I get that. I'd being willing to attempt an internet collab, but yeah, I'd prefer to work w/ someone IRL.
(That's okay. I'm still trying to get my hands on one of those drawing tablets that connect to a computer, so even if you were okay with the collab, it'd take quite a bit of time before I could give you some sample art.)

My mom said she has one of those in the house somewhere and will give it to me if she finds it im so happy (although it might not be what i need)

If you’re going to get a tablet, make sure it has pressure sensitivity! The best tablets I know of are Huion and Wacom brand, they are very pressure-sensitive and they work with everything. Also before you get a tablet, you should probably look into a drawing software, not an expensive one like Photoshop or Corel Painter though, that would be a waste of money when you’re first beginning (and in my honest opinion, a waste of money even when you’re a professional digital artist). Instead go with a free software, my favorites are Krita and Sketchbook, they’re two very different programs but they’re both professional quality and good for beginners. There are a lot of other programs out there and I’ve tried a ton of them, but I do not recommend Gimp, Paint.Net, Project Dogwaffle, Pinta, Microsoft Paint, Inkscape, or Pixia. They’re not very good quality and a few of them are too complicated even for me.
(Ok! Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind.)
