I'm looking for a title for my book, but I haven't thought of anything that's really screaming out to me yet. If anyone has any ideas here's the gist of it (it's a comedy/drama):
Blake Ashley is an 18 year old girl living in a Victorian-style world where the only real paths for a woman to take after graduation is one, become a mother, two, become a mage, or three, get a job, usually a teacher. Her whole life she planned to get married, however she has one problem, she's 6'5" so all potential suitors are scared away because heaven forbid their wife be taller than them. So, Blake opts for choice number three, and goes out into the world to find a job and eventually gets work as a maid for a rich woman, whose entire household is run by the grouchy, old, Henrietta, her personal mage. Blake does her best, but can't seem to get the whole "maid" thing down, and makes mistake after mistake. However, Henrietta has her own problem. Age is catching up with her, and her magic power is beginning to fade. Embarrassed, and not wanting to lose her position or housing, she does her best to hide her problem, until she realizes to her surprise (and Blake's as well) that Blake happens to have magic power. Henrietta decides to ask her for help, offering to train her magic abilities and allow her to keep her job despite her mistakes, if, she also completes Henrietta's magical tasks secretly so no one knows she's lost her touch. Despite not wanting to at first, Blake knows she needs the job, so agrees. Over time, Blake makes new friends, learns her employer, discovers there's more to Henrietta than meets the eye, and eventually finds love(??).
So far, the only title I've come up with is 6'5" but I don't know if I like it. Any ideas?
