I've been working on this story for a long time now….

In the story world people can be born with superpowers, but most people get theirs from accidents and government testing. However most of the population is unaware of this since it just started happening, and those born with their powers don't get them until they hit a certain age. The main character, Jason is one of those born with powers, which don't activate until he's 10. He can control fire, making it with his mind. Unfortunately they're tied to his emotions. Anger and frustration being two of the strongest emotions known makes this dangerous.

Thanks to his powers he accidentally causes some minor fires at school and home. His skin is naturally hot to the touch as well…. After some tragic events we find that he has a juvenile record. In world people are required to have an education, whether they have a record or not. Jason is made to go to school. An aunt that he didn't know he had paid his bail.

While at school a fire breaks out, causing the deaths and injuries of several people. Jason is unfortunately framed for the tragic fire and sets out to clear his name. While doing so he also fiddles around with his abilities, training himself to get control of them.

I love this idea~!

I have a story that I haven't been working on long where the basic premise is this: Humans control magic, magic uprising, they become each others monster stories.

does this short expert from a piece i'm writing from the Origin SMP sound good?

The wind blew softly, as Ranboo looked towards Tubbo; the shorter boy had his bangs flowing into his eyes slightly, his features sharp and defined in the sunlight. His short, yet elegant fingers brushing the hair out of his eyes. A faint noise, possibly white noise was happening in Ranboo's ears, he snapped back into reality, without realising he had zoned out.

"Do you think I could fly higher this time?" Tubbo said faintly, his voice seeming to mix in with the soft breeze. Ranboo jumped a little at Tubbo addressing him.

"I think you could…if you try hard enough" Ranboo responded, just as faintly. He had a terrible headache; something that had been happening alot lately, he would be in the middle of doing something, daily tasks such as crafting something or writing and his temples would erupt into pain, forcing him to close his eyes, and images, possibly daydreams, whatever it was it usually involved Tubbo, with tiny horns sprouting from his hairline and small goat like ears.

"that sounds rather plain and simple doesnt it? like something all Americans say." Tubbo said, a small smile sprouting on his freckled face.

"most Americans do say something along those lines, yes" Ranboo said in response
"but I really do believe you can do it, if you try hard enough…maybe I could cheer you on, boost your self confidence?" he suggested, with a quirk of his eyebrow.

Tying into that is a superhero/supervillain rp that I worked on with a friend. My character, Vortex, is betrayed by his partner and gets sentenced to a prison for superpowered individuals, which is ran by SNOW (Superpowered Nullification Operative Workforce). Now using his "civilian" name Oliver looks for a place to live and unknowingly becomes roommates with his former partner, who has reformed from villain-life. Oliver has been wanting revenge against his former partner, and takes notice of his roommates odd behaviors. Becoming suspicious Oliver eventually becomes suspicious of the other man and his secret identity, which is eventually confirmed. Oliver, while "pretending" to be "friends" with his roommate sets out and schemes of ways to make the latter's life miserable. (I used quotation marks on 'pretending' because despite mostly wanting revenge on his former partner, the two being suspicious of each other and realizing who they are, the two do form a strenuous friendship.

As Oliver he is highly respected, so much so that he wins the mayoral election without cheating. As Vortex he is both feared and admired. There are five cities, each with their own crime-lord. The five heads make up a secretive crime syndicate that is thought to be a myth known as The Pentas. Any major crime has to go to them to be approved. To rise through the ranks within the group, one of the five must be permanently eliminated. They have two psychics that wipe their memories of the members identities; the other psychic wipes the memory of the other psychic. The Pentas call each other by number, which is also their rank. Vortex discovers their secret meeting place, kills "Number 5", and replaces them, which will help him with enacting his revenge.

Okay, so I'm working on zombie apocalypse shit, and I'm super excited because I actually have coherent ideas for once.
Opening a little less than a year into the apocalypse, on the protag stumbling across a group of people who are able to help him when he's suffered some pretty significant injuries.
But I think I'm gonna do that fun thing where you cut back to how it all began. I know usually, it's hard to execute, but I don't ever plan to publish, so I'll do what I want and experiment.
Still trying to decide whether I want to keep the third person for that bit, or if I'm gonna make it like he's explaining the story of what happened and write those chapters in first person (which could be interesting and would show a clear cut between past and present but runs the risk of sounding like an immature writing style).
Anyway, it starts on a group of college students and professors, and it basically recounts the horror of how the group fell apart over time, and how the protagonist ended up completely and utterly alone.
