hey, what’s up, how are you doing ? if we haven’t met— !hi! you can call me Frances.
SO, I am a huge fan of film and cinematography, and since the dawn of time, I’ve been trying to practice actually writing and not just contributing to various Pinterest boards and maladaptive daydreams . so— I had this idea late at night; that maybe this chat could be a place where anyone can drop off some plot ideas, dialogue, aesthetics, or themes for a completely random story (but not fantasy/sci fi, unfortunately (though I love them)) and develop it, slowly but surely, and just— drop off some pretty words or pictures, maybe even some character inspo, or stick around and help write some stuff. (ignoring all that camera and location lingo)

i hope this won’t sink through the unread,,,but,,oh well

@croccin-champagne

uuhh, i can't promise the most involvement, but i'd be happy to lend some plot ideas! do you have any particular themes in mind, things you definitely don't want, anything like that? i've also got plenty of pinterest boards with aesthetics and things, too

thats ok! this is just a casual thing, so don't feel pressured to contribute more than you'd like. i don't have any plot ideas, but i do have the faintest idea– that maybe it could take place in the late '90's - early 2000's with like,,,,colours that are shocking, yet dull, somehow. maybe it takes place somewhere with a very particular aesthetic– like a crowded city or little town?

@croccin-champagne

ooooo, i like that

i found this just a bit ago, and i don't know how helpful it would be, but maybe it could be built off of and adapted? if not, happy and sweet love stories turning tragic and sad are always a fun idea

"you had bloody knuckles - your bruises were the color of my wine
you grabbed my arm and walked away without a word
i keep remembering the dirt under your nails
"

i like that a lot- it's gritty- so maybe sometime through the story, there's a fight?

@croccin-champagne

yeah! the last line might not've showed up, but it's something like 'did you get into a fight? i saw you cry' and that part was like 'o o f' and that's what mainly made me think it might work well

Deleted user

yeah– i just saved it and now i see it. so its someone trying to talk to their friend/ s.o after something really bad has happened– and they're trying to find out what happened; we can work backwards from this– why did they get in a fight? why are they distant with each other in this moment? what's going through their minds? 0_0

@croccin-champagne

what if one of them is falling in love with someone else, if they're dating? and that's what's causing them to be distant? and the person who got in the fight is the one falling in love with someone else, and they got in the fight with someone threatening to tell their bf/gf/other, because part of them still loves them? if that makes any sense?

Deleted user

hm– yes and they're trying to protect them; from the truth about what they've done, because the person they're 'dating' is maybe… their best friend? from childhood. and they care about each other, even though they're still in a love that maybe is— disapproved or not good or something.

@croccin-champagne

ooooo yeah! maybe because they were best friends, everyone's like 'it's not gonna work out, you'll just end up hurting each other and the people around you'

Deleted user

yeah- so it's a little love triangle with someone else (maybe a disapproving friend) threatening to tell the best friend that their bf/gf cheated on them or sumn. so– it goes from friends to lovers to distant to 'what happened to you': a teary confrontation, maybe somewhere that was special to them? and then after, what if they're separated for a long time? and see what it's like to be without each other.
"If you're trying to choose between ? or me, choose them. If you really loved me, you wouldn't have to think about it."

@croccin-champagne

ghjkhgf that's the shit right there. if you wanted a happy ending, you could show them running into each other years and years later somewhere, and maybe hugging and deciding to talk, or you could leave off on an angsty 'will they ever reconcile' type note

Deleted user

ahhhhh if you've every seen la la land you'll know the scene where the two see each other after all those years and they lock eyes and just— drip with longing, but she has a husband and leaves, smiling sadly. so after they separate– and maybe they see each other in (insert important place) maybe one person has a kid or something and they just lock eyes :(

Deleted user

yep yep yep we gottit
so we got the main conflict, setting (kinda,) a couple o character ideas. i think we might need some additional outside conflict (not rlly important rn)

@croccin-champagne

family issues, one person trying to get a scholarship/getting that scholarship but it's somewhere halfway across the world, one of them is pregnant, one of them's friend is pregnant, medical emergency, car crash, parents threatening to move….

Deleted user

im thinkin family issues for one of them, and maybe money issues for the other & struggling with getting jobs (maybe on top of school if they're teens) any ideas for character development? im thinkin one or both could be really into skateboarding and…painting?

@croccin-champagne

what if they share painting, which could lend to some cute and fluffy painting scenes that eventually turn into separate angsty painting scenes? and….cartography, mechanics(that'd be good for the kid struggling for money, because they'll hire near anyone willing to learn, little garages, and they pay more than most retail. the minimum wage where i'm at is thirteen dollars and my mechanic friend makes sixteen), volunteering?, cooking, photography…

Deleted user

yes!! there could be a scene where they're painting together and its everywhere and they get in a mini paint fight.
maybe the one struggling for money works at like a gas station/repair shop with a family member.

Deleted user

mhhm got any ideas for names/ looks/ personalities? height differences are a must, i think,

@croccin-champagne

well first, what's the couple dynamic? because i have a vague aesthetic image for two girls, and i can come up with things for guys or guyxgirl and pretty much anything

Deleted user

i think it'd be good to have two guys, (what do you think?) cause it would add to the whole 'secrecy' thing, though it doesn't matter with the aesthetics– if it vibes, then it vibes.

@croccin-champagne

that works! in that case, tall blonde(maybe an athlete too) well off, family problems tho. short punk, maybe even blue hair, mechanic and maybe a painter, good family even though their struggling for money all the time
