How do you write? Do you prefer to do so alone, or surrounded by people? Do you need silence, or will you need music/white noise? Is your flow of writing steady, at regular intervals, or irregular? Do you edit as you write, or write first and edit later? What helps you concentrate the best? At what time does writing come easiest? What is your biggest inspiration when writing? Is character development more important to you than world development? Do you prefer typing or hand-writing?

Hi! I personally write wherever I can, and I need noise. I just write irregularly, and I try my best to not edit as I write. Concentration? Who's she? Sorry, never heard of her. I find my best writing comes at two in the morning when I have random ideas in my head. My biggest inspiration is me. Both are incredibly important. I find typing faster, and I get hand cramps when I'm handwriting for too long.
How about you?

Hi!
I need to be alone to write, writing with others in the room makes me anxious. I usually need silence, but I can occasionally manage with a bit of quiet music. I write every day, just sort of whenever I can, usually in long bursts. I edit as I write, a habit I’m trying to fix, silence and solitude help me focus the best, as well as comfy clothes and warmth. My writing comes easiest whenever I’m the most awake, so around late afternoon and night. My biggest inspiration.. that’s tough. Probably the books I read and music I listen to. Character development is the most important, and I definitely prefer typing.

Neat!
The only reason I can't write with others in the room is if my crush is in the room bc i have an oc based off of them who i don't want them to know about

My writing strategy is actually very slow and meticulous. I usually start by spending a very long time staring at a blank page, thinking, and this process can last up to nearly an hour. I usually need a lot of time to make anything I'm okay with, and writing is no exception. As long as the sound level is constant, music or silence is fine. I'm a pretty analytical person and will probably edit very often during the process (I'm so thankful for computers oml). I guess I'm a bit strange, lol.

I write alone, and sometimes with my best friend in the room (because sometimes we'll both be writing) I prefer to write with some music playing in the background, because it keeps me attached to the device I'm typing on and keeps me honed in, instead of possibly getting distracted by the outside world. I usually write in short bursts, as I have ideas. It's highly irregular. I usually don't edit because I never plan to publish, but if I do, it's after a chapter is finished. I concentrate best when I'm relaxed, have just showered, am wearing comfy clothes, and have no other things on my plate. Writing comes easiest when I have just come up with new content and ideas, or perhaps added a new character. As for time of day, I'm most productive from 11 PM to 2 AM. I am inspired by people around me and by opinions that I hold. Character development is most important to a story in my opinion, but maybe I'm just better at it. However, I've been doing a lot of worldbuilding lately too, and it's been great. I usually type my work, but I will admit that handwriting is better for creative flow. Just a pain to edit and look back through your work, and the actual action of writing takes more effort and time.

I like to write at midnight when I'm half asleep, it really gets the creative juices flowing for me. Of course I go back when I'm awake and in a proper state of mind to edit and make it make sense but it's a good start. I especially find this with emotional scenes because it's easier to let your emotions fly onto the page into your characters and worlds when you don't feel constricted by if it sounds good or if it follows writing conventions. Once again editing is key afterwards because if you don't it just won't make sense. (Also it's better to type because it's much easier to edit)

I can't write when there's anyone else in the room. It makes me really anxious. I don't like lots of noise, but music in the background is nice, unless I'm trying to remember a specific word. Then it's distracting XD

Late to the party, but I always love reading that I'm not the only person who just stares at the blank page until I'm ready. :)

For me, writing is a highly personal activity that I generally prefer to do alone. I find that I need complete silence in order to concentrate and get into the flow of writing. If there is any noise, no matter how faint, it will distract me and disrupt my train of thought. Moreover, I find that being around other people makes it difficult for me to focus. While there are some who enjoy writing in coffee shops or other public places, I prefer to write in the privacy of my own home. There, I can create the ideal conditions for writing, and I am not subject to the whims of the outside world. Of course, this is not always possible, but when it is, it makes for a much more productive writing session.
