I got this idea in English. So we had to do this utopia project, and we did presentations today. While I'm not too happy about how my project turned out, I'd like to give it a second try, with someone else! (And unlimited time, while we're at it too aha)

I don't have too many rules for who can join, just that I'd like someone who's mostly active (at least once or twice a week) and can put up with spotty replies. Also, I'm really only looking for one person to do this with.

(Yay!)

So this idea isn't too well-formed, and I've been sick all day (and just woke up about 40 minutes ago) so forgive me if it's a bit confusing, I've forgotten some of the main points.

I'm building off of this project that I wasn't too happy with, but adjusting a lot of things. I had in mind exactly how I was going to try to "control" the citizens and keep the utopia going, but then I forgot and I guess the whole idea fell apart?

Idk, sorry for the barely-formed idea. But looking at some google images, I guess the two images below work pretty well for a general idea of how I'd like the world to look.

Okii, sounds good. (Also I guess I'm calling you Aloe now??? Idk I haven't really interacted with you much so I went to your profile to figure out what name(s) you go by.)

And Ash, as stated in the original post, I was really only looking for one person, but if you're still here by the time Aloe and I finish the world, I'd love to start a small rp based off of the world.

(Oh! I swear I thought I replied to this! Sorry about that!)

So-
I thought we could start off by getting some basic ideas. Thoughts on:

  • A name for the utopia?
  • Culture?
  • People?
  • Languages?
  • Religion?
  • Geography?
  • Wildlife?
  • Music, ect.?
  • Politics
  • Government and the system

I have some ideas, but not a whole lot. So what if there are four main languages spoken in this world? One used only among babies, and by parents to babies. A second used only among toddlers, who are beginning to form words in their language, and the main language, which is the fourth one. It is frowned upon to use this language if you are not a toddler. The third, used mostly among children, and sometimes teenagers. However, anyone can speak this language, if they become fluent enough. And lastly, the fourth language is the main language, and everyone can speak this language. Or at least, they learn how to. Every single occupant of the world is fluent in all four languages, though only two are the most spoken. The third and fourth languages. What do you think about that?

That sounds like a cool idea! I'm curious about the baby language especially. Unless you have a specific idea for it, I realized maybe it could be some form of sign language, since infants seem to learn that more easily than complicated words? I have a nephew whose parents taught him sign language because he was slow to learn how to talk, and he really picked it up. (Some of his signs were pretty clumsy, but you could usually still understand him ^^) How does that sound?

Cool! So, the other three languages–how are they linked? Are they just increasingly complicated versions of each other? I have a feeling the third language will include a lot of slang and inside lingo if it's mostly kids that use it. Maybe it even changes slightly from generation to generation as new kids learn the language and add their own creative twist to it? And then the adult language is fairly static and formal in comparison?

I guess the main language is just something that kind of combines the third language with our version of English? like if the language is called, i don't know, TheLanguage or something (very creative name i know) then ig it would function a little bit like English, so it would include all formal, slang, and casual words?

i don't know if that makes sense or not, sorry if it doesn't.

@saor_illust school

yeah! and do you think this should be a language more like english, with a written alphabet or like idk russian which doesn't really have defining letters?
