O my gawd. This is so cool! I have something similar to this but they can't use this nearly as well as you have explained in this.

I think you've got that pretty well explained, and thought out. The fire in them provides a heating mechanism and since they are made from energy they can deflect and absorb the shock of impact. Well done :)

What happens it the gelf is stabed by one before it is treated? Does it go through them, or just glance off?

Good question. Well, first of all, the untreated feather could potentially hurt a Gelf, but the wound would heal instantly because the harming substance induced through the treatment is not present and therefore it does not cause actual damage, so it would be like a small paper cut for them - this is considering the feather does not turn into dust right after being plucked.

Maybe they should be able to retract them if they are that long- and maybe they can be used like a paraglider as well? just an idea. anyway I think if they are that large they should be able to retract them because maybe they could be a little impractical. Hope you find this helpful~
