The main character in myself story moves to London for a fresh start and decides to go to university. Any tips on writing about university life ?

@NobleWolf

People living in dorms usually have roommates, so it should be entertaining to write about how your character interacts with them. Also, if your character has always lived with their family, how might they feel about being away from home? And university isn't just "living at school". There are tons of activities people engage in to make themselves at home. Hope this helps!

I don't know about the UK but as a continental European university student I can say everything I've seen in the movies of American colleges seems like another world to me! For starters, we don't live on campus (although there usually are student homes nearby). Also there isn't any one campus but buildings for different institutions scattered across town. Experience-wise it makes a huge difference whether your program/course has a hundred students or just a few. And keep in mind that professors at universities are active scientists and generally passionate about the subjects they teach. You'll get to know them as well as you move through your studies, especially when you start to specialize, and if/when there are fewer other students in your branch of study.

But again, I don't know how much of this applies to the UK. The site of the university of London might be a good place to start!
