There’s a good chance that I’ll never be able to publicly acknowledge the fact that I’m with my significant other. Their mom has threatened to send them to New Orleans if she ever hears that they’re with “a girl.”

Yeah we were just friends for the entire school year. We haven’t been able to see each other since quarantine started. They confessed that they liked me close to the last day of school. Then sadly we never went back to school so I haven’t seen them since. So we actually got together over quarantine. But they accidentally let it slip to their mom that we’re QPP’s. And that’s when she did the whole “if I hear anything about you in a relationship with a girl ever again, I’m sending you away.” So that sUcKs

I can't believe there are people out there who'd really send their child away, uproot them from their life, their social circle, the only thing they know just because they have a relationship they don't approve of. The only excuse to send your child away is if it's for a vacation of if your kid actually committed a crime and has to go to a detention center. You don't just move your kid away when you don't approve of one aspect if their life. Disgusting.
I'm sorry your zuchinni's mom is so detrimental to you two.

Thanks I appreciate it. I almost feel like it’s my fault though. Up until now, they’d exclusively liked guys. And I’d had a habit of quickly rejecting anyone who tried to ask me out. If both of us had stuck to our usual ways, they’d never have to be suffering like this. I know it’s stupid, but I still think like that sometimes.
