Usually people on the far right and far left are equally as unreasonable and unworthy of consideration simply because many of their ideas are incompatible with personal freedoms and personal choice.

Actually, I'd like to write a mini essay on this. Why is the right fascist? My theory is that fascist extremists have been pushing the right to their side for so long, that "liberal" (in the American sense) views, while normally would be very moderate to even conservative, are seen as "leftist trash" at this point. Eventually, saying "gay people shouldn't be executed for existing" will be seen as a radical leftist point of view. I blame this whole situation on the Democratic/Republican party platform switch, which took place arooooound I think the 40s-70s in full but had been going on for a while. Angie Speaks has some good opinions on this subject, but I wouldn't take everything she says at face value because she is, unfortunately, wrong on some points like we all are. Or at least, my opinion of wrong, she could actually be right and I could be wrong and not knowing it, but for now my opinions are for now fairly solid.
