He nodded, and drank it gratefully. "Thank you…" He trailed off, looking at her. "How…how do you have clearance for access?" He asked, straightening to stand on his own. "To this room? How do you have access?"

"This is the one room Dad never let me in," Nadia sighed. "My dad's the head honcho here. Michael J. Shaed. Big whoop. I made copies of all the keys years ago, this place gets rather boring pretty quick."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded slowly. "Oh. Can you… introduce me to him, then? Soon? I need to figure out why I was brought out of cryofreeze." He looked at her carefully, reaching out a hand to touch the pod.

"Unless I would like my head as a decoration, I'm going to say no. My father can't know I was in here. I'd be done for, grounded for life, completely screwed over in every way." Nadia sighed. "Maybe, if all else fails, he'll come in and check before I get a chance to tell him. Hopefully."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron frowned a little. "But…" he hesitated. "I need to speak with whoever is in charge. I should not be out of cryofreeze unless I am needed. Obviously you don't have any sort of clearance at all, so I need to speak with someone who does."

"NO!" Nadia screamed. She took a breath to collect her calm. "Listen, if you were taken out for a reason, somebody would have come to get you. Did someone come? NO. So, what does this mean? It means that this was a massive accident or something. But, until somebody realizes you're out, it's just you and me, Aaron."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"So there was a glitch." Aaron replied slowly. "This was a mistake. I should still report to whoever is in charge. I'm supposed to. It's my job." he looked down at her, blinking slowly. "What are you so afraid of? You don't even have to tell them what happened, just that you found me wandering the halls or something."

@TeamMezzo group

"I'm terrified of what General Michael J. Shaed can do. My father is a different man then when…" Nadia started crying. "Listen, Aaron, I'm absolutely terrified of the man my father has become since… never mind. It's pointless…"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron stared at her wordlessly for a long, long moment. "No-wait, don't cry, Nadia, I-" he fumbled a little. "I'm no good at helping when people cry. Please stop, I'm sorry." he stammered.

@TeamMezzo group

Nadia sniffled. "No, you didn't do anything, it's just…" Nadia stopped dead in her word's tracks, unable to go on. "I… I should go, shouldn't I? I'll say I heard a clamor in here and I'll direct someone here and we can forget this ever happened. Or, I couldn't, and I could stay here with you. What would you prefer?" Nadia wiped her eyes and noes on her sleeves.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron looked at her, biting his lower lip for a moment. "I don't…I don't have a preference." he replied slowly. "I'm not in the right time period; I don't know anything about what should be happening now."

@TeamMezzo group

"Well, doesn't that make my life easier," Nadia mumbled under her breath. "Listen, do you want my help or not? Because if you want it, I need to know what it is that you don't know yet. If they put you in here yesterday, then I've got nothing to do here, but if you've been in here for 20, 30, 40 years, then I've got a hell of a lot of explaining to do."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron took a deep breath. He was still a bit wobbly on his feet from everything, from the pod, and he wasn't sure what to do. He did the math in his head, and his eyes narrowed a little. "Sev…seventy." he finally said slowly. "Seventy years." his eyes were carefully blank, no clues as to why or how in his features.

@TeamMezzo group

"Oh, shit," Nadia muttered. "Okay, I have a hell of a lot more explaining to do than I thought. Let's start with this: What do you want to know? Is there a sports team that you followed that you'd like to know if they won a major championship, or would you rather I get into the wars and government and things like that?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I uhm…wars and government." Aaron replied immediately. He had never cared much for sports. He studied Nadia with his blue grey eyes. "And if you would just take me to the person in charge, I'm sure they could help me." he ran a hand through his hair, still looking at her carefully.

"Alright… the Cybergenetic War happened about 50 years ago, DNA manipulation was outlawed. We've been through many a president, currently, Alex Jiesen is sitting in the Oval Office. Since you've been out, many a trend has happened, we've fought many a battle, lost a few wars here and there, but really the biggest highlight is the Mars mission. Humans made it up to the red planet. Any questions?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron blinked slowly, cocking his head and looking at her. "I see. No questions." he replied slowly, turning over the information. "Was all DNA manipulation outlawed?" he asked, frowning a little. "And what was done to those who had already had it manipulated?"

@TeamMezzo group

Nadia had to think through her answer. "All manipulation was outlawed. If you'd had it done previously, there were no repercussions. Why, is yours manipulated?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron's brows drew together. "Something like that." he replied carefully, turning over the statement in his head, then looking at her. "May I speak to one of the people in charge now?" he asked doggedly, stubbornly.

@TeamMezzo group

"God damn it, Aaron, when will you understand that I can't tell anyone I'm in here?" Nadia lashed out. She took a few deep breaths. "Sorry for lashing out, you probably hate me."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Aaron shrugged slightly. "I don't hate anyone." he replied with a sigh. "But I…don't understand what I am supposed to do, if you cannot tell anyone you were in here."
