Anna entered New Bark Town and stifled a yawn. She'd traveled from Cherrygrove City without stopping, not an incredible distance but a little tiring. Things had remained mostly uneventful, and Anna was glad she hadn't run into any wild Pokemon that might have wanted to fight. Looking around the small town, she checked the address and started heading in the direction of the Lab.
Caesar started towards the lab from his house in New Bark Town. It was a beautiful day outside- a perfect day for encountering all kinds of Pokemon. He wasn't really looking for a fight, just observing the creatures. Occasionally, he'd see a trainer in the street with a cute Pokemon and he would shyly ask if he could know their name, and even better yet, if he could pet them.
Zozzie walked towards the lab, their Zorua walking beside them. They didn't want to get a starter pokemon, they had Zorua. Zorua started to feel Zozzie's discomfort, beginning to walk closer. "We're here." Zozzie muttered.
Simon hummed in excitement as he followed the road down from his mother's large house. He couldn't help but do a few skips, his energy spiking and ready. Ready to meet my new partner and start my adventure! I wonder what cool people I'll run into… he let his mind wander with extraordinary fantasies as his legs carried him along in the direction of the lab. He almost squealed out loud as the building came into view.
Anna grinned as she saw other Trainers-to-be at the lab. "Hey!" she said, waving and picking up the pace. "Are you guys here to get a Pokemon too?" Anna then noticed that one of them already had a Pokemon. "Whoa! You already have one? Cool! Can I pet it?" she asked with a large smile.
"No." Zozzie hissed, Zoura jumping onto their shoulder and nudging their head with their paw. "Zoura is a therapy pokemon." They explained after the action. Their Zoura gave an almost proud nod and a slightly human-like smile.
Caesar looked to Anna from where he walked slightly ahead of her and Zozzie on the road.
"Uh… yeah," he said softly, "I'm getting a bit old to just be starting out, but yeah… I'm finally getting a Pokemon."
He switched his gaze to Zozzie. "That's a fine-looking Zorua you've got there. What's their name?"
"Her name is Author," Zozzie answers curtly, the pokemon in question almost frowning before butting her head against Zozzie's again. "Fine, I'll be nicer," Zozzie responds to Author.
Simon finally caught up to the other trainers, waving as he was too out-of-breath to formulate any response other than a gasping "Hiya… everyone." He gave a odd mix between a thumb's up and a 👌, not knowing which one to use as he spotted Zozzie's Zorua.
Anna's face fell for a second when Zozzie said no, something about their tone had hurt her. She recovered quickly though. "O-oh, that's cool!" she said. She then noticed Simon. "Hi!"
Caesar saw Simon approach from even further behind. He gave a quick wave, then continued walking to where they were supposed to go.

(Wait, they're on Professor Elm's lab's front step right now. Sorry, I should have paid more attention, but better late than never I guess)
(Oops. I gotcha. I won't fix my other posts because it wasn't that important of a detail to what he was doing, but I'll keep that in mind going forwards.)
(No problemo! I just figured I'd mention it. Also, does anyone know where @Emi-Has-Her-Squishbeans is?)
(Right here, but I have no idea where to hop in. Give me a few.)
(A few more posts or a few minutes? Sorry XD)
(Minutes, lol. I had to take my dog out. And I did kinda want my character to be late.)
(Alright! Then let's get this RP moving!)
Just then, the door to the lab opened. A bespectacled beanpole of a man stood before them. He wore a blue button-down shirt and jeans underneath a white lab coat, and his hair was lightish brown and spiky in the front. Professor Elm! Anna thought with a bolt of recognition.
"Ah! You're the beginning Trainers I was expecting!" he said, then motioned for them to come in. "It's a little messy, but welcome to the lab."
Looking around, Anna had to disagree. The lab wasn't a little messy, it was trashed. Books were pulled off of shelves, papers were strewn everywhere, and one of the shelves was even knocked over.
Zozzie peered around the lab with a quizzical stare and a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, a bit." They muttered sarcastically, Author scrunching up her snout at the mess. "You're Professor Elm, right?" Zozzie asked.
Caesar had a very slight smile on his face. He was excited, but also nervous.
"It's good to meet you, Professor Elm."
He glanced around the disaster of a lab, and he was intrigued more than disgusted by the mess.
The professor nodded. "Yes, I am," he replied to Zozzie, then sighed, glancing at the toppled shelf.
"If you don't mind my asking, what happened?" Anna inquired. She wasn't the tidiest person herself, but this was…this was just weird. She couldn't help but be suspicious.
"It…was a break in," Elm answered. "Somehow, the culprits managed to turn off the security cameras, get inside, and ransack the place without setting off any alarms or waking anyone up. They even made off with research and some Pokemon."
The train was late. Which was actually great, really, since the meeting started at the sunrise of noon, and now it was almost an hour after. Annie stumbled off the train that came from Kalos, sighing as she hurried through a few quiet towns the professor's lab. As she quickly ran out of breath and her breath constricted, this is when she wished she had a Pokemon to ride or a bike. Not even something to rent. She stumbled up to the lab, absolutely exhausted. She pushed in, realized the doors were automatic and stumbled in. She tried not to press more attention to herself and hurried to the back of the group, her cheeks flaming red.
Caesar felt a wave of fear pass over him. This mess wasn't just the work of a mad scientist?
"Do you know who might have done it?" Caesar asked, "Who would want to steal your research?"
He had paled a little bit.
As Annie came late, Caesar's attention switched over to her. He waved, trying not to make a big deal over her lateness, but he unfortunately could not bring himself to smile.
Professor Elm shook his head. "I have no idea. Unfortunately, I'm still taking inventory. When that's done, maybe we'll have some kind of clue, or at least be able to figure out what they want with it." Noticing that Annie had arrived, Elm changed the subject. "I guess we'd better get to the reason you came here sometime today, though. Several of the Pokemon in the lab were taken, but fortunately, the starters were untouched."
Anna's attention went to a machine in the back of the lab where five Pokeballs sat. The professor pressed a button on it, and all the Pokeballs opened simultaneously. Five Pokemon appeared in flashes of light: A Bulbasaur, Litten, Chikorita, Totodile and Cyndaquil all looked up at the new Trainers expectantly. "Wooowwwww," Anna breathed, bouncing on the balls of her feet in excitement.
One of these Pokemon would wind up being her partner! Her gaze lingered on the Cyndaquil for a second, then she looked around at her peers. "So who's going first?" Anna asked.
(Since I have this figured out–finally–I'm gonna drop some plot stuff on you guys. This takes place four years after the games started–HG/SS, to be exact because I'm biased–with Silver as the Champion and the player characters having been dethroned from their positions as Kanto and Johto Champions. Gold, the ex-Johto Champ, left to challenge more Gyms in other Regions. Crystal–I know I said HG/SS but I also wanted to at least nod to the OGs–wanted to research Pokemon in extremely remote areas. The three made a promise to meet again someday to battle and just catch up with each other. However, nobody has seen or heard from Gold or Crystal in several months. Additionally, in case you haven't guessed, I'm making a new evil organization to take place as the villains in this story. I really only have a vague outline of what they're going to be doing outlined, and since it's something that'll be revealed as the plot progresses, I won't say a whole lot about them. What I will tell you is that they're definitely a shadowy bunch and are unknown to most of the general public, so our characters won't know about them at all.)
Zozzie raised their hand. "May I go first?" They asked, letting Author jump off their shoulder and stand on the floor. They were a it skeptical when it came to the process, as they never had anyone to explain it to them in full detail.
