"Hmm, doesn't feel like a fixed point in time to me, so it isn't." the Doctor argued, flicking her ear playfully.
"Hmm, doesn't feel like a fixed point in time to me, so it isn't." the Doctor argued, flicking her ear playfully.
"No, you - you don't understand. I was supposed to die. The doctors told me, everyone told me they were sorry, I had accepted it. And then you come along, you beautiful, horrible angel, and make me question my sense of self! I already knew who I was, the girl everyone felt so sorry for, the girl everyone worried about, and now - what am I supposed to be now?" She finished blankly, a single tear falling down her cheek.
"The brave girl, the girl everyone looks up to, the girl who everyone sees as a strong, powerful, and brave woman." he answered without a second thought.
"But I can't be, don't you see? I can't be, because I'm none of those things, and I can't ever be any of those things, and - " she broke off in a panic. "Angels aren't real," she whispered to herself.
"Sure they are, I've met a few. There was one I met, not an angel, a demon, like, fallen angel, but not fallen. He said something like, not fall, but saunter vaguely downwards. But that's unimportant, I'm rambling now, aren't I? Did I just ruin the moment?" he asked quickly.
Olivia shook her head quickly. "There was no moment. I need to - I have to go home, I can't accept this, I have to go," she said extremely fast, pulling away and rushing toward the doorway.
"Olivia, the storm, you can't go out!" the Doctor warned, but he was too shocked to do any chasing down at the moment between the past and what seemed like would be eternity.
(Jwivqvwrijn sorry I was on vacation. As you could probably see from my username. Which I just changed. I'm going to stop typing now.)
Shaking her head and muttering to herself, Olivia determinedly opened the door, only to be slapped in the face by a fierce wind that caused her to collapse into another coughing fit. Shakily pushing the door closed, she brushed her hair out of her face and tried to hold back her coughs. "Sorry about that, had a bit of a panic attack there, where were we? All those gadgets and you were talking about how much of a mystery it was that there aren't any people, and we should, um, find them. Or something," she put on an extremely bright voice as she stood up to pick up a gadget with which to gesture.
"This place is abandoned. Several pieces of the decor don't fit the region or era, we might be dealing with a time traveller. As for people, it looks like the chap who lived here up and left, but we could pop out when the storm lets up and see if anyone is around." the Doctor snapped his head up from a curved, iridescent blue crescent moon type carving lying on the mantlepiece.
Olivia nodded, coughing quietly before asking, "what are we going to do until then?" She leaned against the wall, tipping her head slightly with the question.
"Twenty questions." Seni said, completely deadpan in expression and tone. You couldn't tell if she was serious or not, but you'd hope for the latter.
Olivia blinked. "Twenty questions? Like, the high school game, twenty questions?"
"Did I fucking stutter?" a brief mutter of 'language!' from the Doctor, which Seni ignored. "Seriously, there's nothing else left to do and you don't want Truth or Dare to happen with my imagination."
"Christ, alright, then. Not a lot of adults play Twenty Questions. Pardon my complete insolence," she said drily, sitting down against the wall.
"I am no adult. Doctor, you want to join?" she asked. "No thank you," he seemed distracted, distant. The wind was howling less, and it seemed the storm was now letting up. "So much for Twenty Questions then."
"Are we leaving, then?" Olivia asked, standing up and peeking outside.
"The storm is gone, so yes. Come along you lot!" the Doctor said. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a battered journal and proceeded to pocket it for the future. Maybe it had something useful in it?
"Where exactly are we going? Or were you just planning to wander until we found someone?" Olivia asked skeptically, coughing quietly.
"Preferably the latter, but I want to find out if there's any way off planet in case of total ecosystem collapse." the Doctor said.
"…Besides your insanely huge ship, you mean," she said blankly.
