Civil unrest has broken out across Thedas. The Chantry has chosen to exclude themselves from the people, causing more of an outcry yo break out. A blight is nearing and the land is in fear. Qunari forces are tense, and Tervinter has gone worryingly silent in this time of unrest. Will you survive the blight? (OCs only. If very interested in playing a main character talk to me)

Thedas is split into four main regions. Ferelden, Orlais, Nevarra, and the Free Marches.

Ferelden is in southeast Thedas hailing as the a feudal monarchy, historically populated by a simple militaristic culture. The Ferelden desire for freedom has engendered a cultural mistrust of law enforcement, and 'laissez-faire' attitudes in general.

Orlais hails in southwestern Thedas ruled under absolute monarchy, currently the largest and most powerful nation in the land. Orlais is famed for its culture and extravagance. It is a nation where class and social politics frequently rule the day. Aristocratic society is vicious and marked by fawning envy to the powerful. They participate in "The game". This refers to the perpetual competition of influence and esteem between nobles, subject to their peers' manipulation. The goals are personal prestige, reputation and patronage, and the rules are none.

Nevarra lies in central Thedas, west of the Free Marches. Thanks to enormous wealth and strategic central location, some claim Nevarra's power rivals that of the Orlesian Empire. It has a history of royal dynasties, and is renowned for its art. Mages hold more political power then mages in other countries, weilding nearly as much as the Tevinter Imperium. They believe that when a dead soul crosses the Fade it displaces the Fade spirit.

The Free Marches encompass a group of city-states in eastern Thedas. The three cities with any real power are Kirkwall, Starkhaven, and Tantervale. The "Marcher" are independent-minded descendants of tough barbarians. Their cities have formed a loose confederation that rarely unites. Centrally the Free Marches is culturally diverse. Movement of goods and trade bring people from across the land. They have no central government, no king, and no real capital. Each city is self-governing and wary of intrusions by its neighbors, leading to tensions as the jockey and vie for power.

Races:

Human - Most numerous, yet contentious of all the races of Thedas. Only four times have they ever united under a single banner.

Elf- Long ago, the elves were the dominant race on Thedas, and ther culture was based around Fade and magic. They have since then migrated into two distinct groups: city elves, who live alongside humans (usually impoverished outcasts), and the Dalish, who have chosen to lead nomadic lives and strive to keep elven culture alive.

Dwarf- Stong, stocky, and shorter than any other humanoid race, the dwarves are skilled builders and boast a long tradition of courage and martial skill. Unlike other races, the do not enter the fade, dream, and lack magical ability (not utterly but mostly). This is reflected in their resistance to magic and high tolerance of lyrium exposure.

Qunari- The Qunari is an umbrella term most commonly used to describe the white-haired metallic-skinned race of giants and their society. The Qun is the religion of the Qunari, though it is closer to a philosophy. It governs every aspect of life and every Qunari a defined and fixed place in their society. Those who leave are known as "Tal-Vashoths" and are considered to be worse than 'bas' - who are non-Qunari.

Classes:

Warrior - Battle-hardened and masters of close combat, warriors are pivital to any group entering battle. As front-line fighters, they absorb the brunt of the opponent attacks, steal enemies focus, and create an opening for deadly ranged assaults from other classes.

Rogue - Armed with bows, daggers, and any number of dirty tricks, the rogue's primary focus is damage: tearing foes down one at a time with systematic efficiency. Rogues commonly use and mixture of stealth and mobility to reach positions of advantage, be it a sniper's perch or behind an unsuspecting back.

Mage - Those who can tap into the raw energy of the Fade and block the whispering temptations of demons are truly exceptional. They turn that mental focus onto the field of war, they can be truly terrifying opponents. Most employ considerable skills rendering foes not only weakened, but also vulnerable to physical attack.

Rules/Notes:
This is Dragon Age/Bioware. Obviously it will have bad language, graphic violence, and possibly other graphic content. Let's keep the age above 17 to 18+. Bioware is full of adult themes, graphic language, violence, and a number of other things. This will be NSFW with possible triggering and dark themes. You have been warned. If you still want a part in this be sure the warn others ahead of time so it can be established you aren't alright with something.

Don't be a dick. We're all professionals (mostly), and this app is used to have fun and enjoy ourselves, not make others upset, feel bad, or be ashamed of themselves. You don't like something about someone, tough shit. Suck it up if you want to be a part of this. The world isn't rainbows and sunshine, but do not be an asshole. Under any circumstances.

No Mary-Sues. Look, I love making cringy, overpowered characters as much as the next guys, but these prompts are used for improvement. Hunker down and make that character flawed and believable. Make it enjoyable for others too!

This work will be paragraph, 3rd person, 4 lines + with no exceptions. Push yourself. You're used to working with one-liners, I'm sorry. This isn't for you. We're weaving a story here. Make it enjoyable to read.

Again this is DA. There's going to be heavy petting. That's all fine and dandy, but if you want some hanky panky, horizontal no-pants dance, go somewhere private. That's triggering for some people, and other's, they just don't want it clogging up or even in their story experience. Be respectful at all times.

Touching up on that last one. Be sure you always clear a big advance or plot change with the person or group you're with. Treat your fellow authors with respect and let them know you respect their boundaries and opinions by talking it out if you have an idea; we're all here to make something beautiful.

Enjoy yourself, dude. Drink some water. Eat something. Be sure you've taken any meds. Take that nap. Spread the love. Smile at someone. Tell someone you love them. And, above all, you have a fantastic day.
