What would be your character(s) reaction to getting trapped in an elevator? What would they do?
I'll go first.

Amber would calmly check to make sure the elevator was stopped. She would yell a couple of times, just in case someone was around. She would be really afraid, but she would keep a mostly calm impression. She would try to make a plan, but eventually she would start worrying and getting nervous.

Flynn would sit in a corner for a minute or two, but then start banging on the elevator doors. But then she would remember that she could try to move the elevator.

Mia: Presses the fire button. Realizes that's a false alarm. Panics because she just called the fire department. Plans what to do when she goes to jail. Daydreams that scenario until the fire department shows up.

@PaperHats business

Sire: Calm acceptance. He lives here now. There is nowhere else. This is his home. He has accepted the call of the elevator.

Lucas: Actually finds a way out.

Moxie: Internal panicking. Writes letters on the walls to her friends and family telling them how much she loves them. Acting like this is it— this is the way she’ll leave the world.

This might be the funniest thing I've ever read???????

@CinnamonRoll

  1. Natalie: Takes two seconds to breathe, then remembers she's an absolute legend with pent up rage and starts TEARING the elevator apart, prying apart the doors Die Hard style and getting out of that box within a minute. She'll probably get out of the shaft fine as well, but she'll be rattled as hell when she reaches an actual floor.
  2. Julianna: Kind of like Natalie, but with no emotional fuel. Just looks the doors up and down, takes out what she can (knife, phone, nail clipper, WHATEVER) and gets on getting those doors open.
  3. Clara: Shock for a solid 15 seconds, then frantically dialing on the emergency phone. She calls Tesla before she calls 911. He's there first.
  4. Bianca: She's got the same skills as Julianna and Natalie… and way different execution. After pounding on the door and jumping up and down for a minute, she wrenches open the doors, decides that's way too much work, and calls the fire department.
  5. Thalia: Control panel has been RIPPED open. She's trying to hot-wire an elevator. She seems to have forgotten that hacking doesn't exactly translate to mechanical engineering. After 1 (one) minor burn, she calls the police in a PANIC.
  6. Lina: Pushes the emergency button as she slides to the floor, completely chill and already ordering Chipotle for pickup in one hour. If she's not out by then, she intends to sue the police department.
  7. Tesla: Literally every wire in this thing has been exposed. The plating is just GONE. It took him twenty minutes, three sets of pliers, a bit of Silly Putty, and his innocent phone battery, torn out of its metal and glass shell too soon, but that elevator sure is moving!
  8. Monty: PANIC MODE PANIC MODE PANIC MODE!!!! He calls the police with the phone and puts on a perfect customer service voice, but as soon as he hangs up, he's LOSING it.
  9. Peter: PANIC MODE mixed with a dash of "what if this was… romantic?" He calls the police and just INSISTS the receiver stay on the line because he's just SO worried and feels like he'll just FALL APART if there's no one there with him.
  10. Nico: my man has been in panic mode from the SECOND he stepped on this elevator. He's yelling at the fire department over the phone and pounding his fist on the walls and muttering curse words… but he's kind of about to cry.
  11. Grayson: He trusts in the power of law enforcement! After calling emergency services, he sits down and reads some news, content that he will be safe soon. Of course, after fifteen minutes, he gets WILDLY annoyed and calls again, this time to criticize the response time.
  12. Diana: Calls to ask for help. They tell her it'll be a couple hours. She responds with a cheerful, "Oh, that's perfectly fine!" even though it really isn't. Hangs up. She sits in existential crisis mode for two hours. As soon as she gets out, they tell her they're so sorry for the delay. Her response? "It's no problem at all! No worries!" Diana is living a lie.

@SpookyScarySnoteleks group

Azami: Opens the ceiling panel and climbs up the elevator shaft, she's gone before anybody can find her.
Jax: Panics. "What about my captain? He could get hurt, I gotta protect him!" She eventually ends up curled up in a corner.
Maia: Remains calm, and waits for the authorities.
Tori: Gets lonely and calls her friends, keeps them on the line instead of calling for help.
Peregrine: Immediately cuts her way through the doors.

@Starfast group

Ara: Remain weirdly calm as he tries to get a hold of someone who can get him out. Low key enjoys the peace and quiet, but is still mildly frustrated.
Andor: Ties his shoelaces together out of boredom, among some other weird ways to keep himself entertained while someone rescues him. But will definitely have forgotten that his shoelaces are tied together by the time help comes.
Dallas: Calls his mom before doing anything else.
Jackie: Documents the entire thing on her instagram story.
Crispin: Crispin is super claustrophobic and would be able to stay calm for exactly 2 minutes before he starts absolutely losing it. As soon as he's out, he'll just play it cool like he totally wasn't having a panic attack.
Gerard: Is 100% convinced that he's going to die. Probably cries a lot. Vows to never go in an elevator ever again after being rescued.
Caleb: Comes up with some elaborate escapist fantasy while he waits for someone to rescue him.
Kit: Isn't really that panicked to begin with, but gets gradually more frustrated as time goes on. Will probably try to see if he can use his powers to get himself out.

I mean… he would. That’s him mic drop. Character development. Woosh

Zenith: Panics, but will find a way out, no matter what. Even if it means sending the elevator down to the ground where it'll smash and hurt him, he will not stay in it for very long.

Katsumi: Stays calm at first, shoots the control panel several times. Eventually freaks out and calls Crystal for help.

Crystal: Immediately proceeds to go over literally everything she knows about elevators until she figures out how to open the thing at the top and climb to another floor. Stays calm the entire time.

John: Immediately panics and calls Zenith.

Jayden: Calls 911 and calmly explains the situation, internally cursing that their going to be late for whatever class they has and hopes their professor won't be upset. Doesn't call Zenith, but he shows up anyway, a lot sooner than the police do, and pretty much tears things apart until Jayden is free.

@writer_of_amethyst group

Katherine: Calls Ronin and politely tells him her predicament. Waits patiently on the line until he comes.

Ronin: Gets exceedingly more frustrated the longer it takes to get out, and will probably eventually start tearing the elevator apart out of pure rage that he's late for whatever he was going to.

Molly: Goes into a mental shut down. Doesn't even remember to call for help. "I should have known something would go wrong."

Charles: Immediately starts worrying that he will be late for a date with his wife. Forgets to call her or anyone for help until he's already been worrying for at least 20 minutes. Then proceeds to question who he should call first.

Agatha: Starts screaming at the top of her lungs that this is a trap to keep her from speaking out about injustices. Starts pounding on the walls and screaming her arguments. After a long time of screaming, she eventually tires herself out and begrudgingly picks up the phone to call for help.

Caitlyn: Thinks about calling for help, but then realises that nobody would really care that she's gone and goes into a downward spiral of the identity crisis she's had for years but never let herself think about. Eventually calls for help. They find her sitting in the corner of the elevator. "Hi."

Elizabeth: Goes on a long mental ramble about everything happening for a reason until someone eventually calls her and brings her back to reality. She then explains the problem and waits while the other person calls for help.

Rochelle: Actually calls for help like a normal human being, but then remembers that she doesn't want to be identified and proceeds to pull herself out of the top emergency door and out of the elevator shaft. Watches with a mixture of amusement and guilt as police try to figure out where she went and why the elevator is empty.

Janson: Briefly wonders if this is recompense for past sins before calling up the emergency line and demanding/shouting at them to get him out or else.

Phillip: Starts whining and complaining that he's stuck in an elevator. Calls the help phone and whines at them, but doesn't give them enough information, so actually makes it take longer to get him out.

May: Starts violently attacking the elevator. Remembers that there are security cameras in elevators. Pastes on a fake smile and politely calls the help phone explaining the situation.

@Mojack group

Valerie: pulls out cigarette and begins to smoke it. Presumably waiting for rescue. She’s got all of the time in the world, literally. Immortality, y’know?

Zhenka: is also immortal but pretty new to it. Unlike Valerie, he doesn’t have 3000 years worth of experience. Probably freaks out inwardly, he’s not that expressive, but if it lasts for a while, then maybe. Maybe he tries to solve the problem on his own, but if he fails, he’s going to sit in the corner, face in hands.

@At_Last_Its_Attean

FYI: I'm pretending my characters were born in the 21st century and know what an elevator is.

Gil: Whistles the tune he's been practicing and works on his novel
Gideon: Sits in a corner and cries.
Magnus: Two minutes and the plating's off. Cuts a few wires, fiddles with the rest, and calmly steps out as the elevator resumes moving and stops at a floor.
Selene: Kicks the walls and calls politely for assistance
Darren: "Help???"

@Leshierian

Elevators only exist in certain places in their world.

Chester: Has never been in an elevator, so he doesn't know what the buttons do, or at least he doesn't know what the buttons that aren't numbers do. He stares at the row of buttons completely done with this sh*t. He eventually presses the buttons on the bottom. trying the button with the two arrows going out, maybe it'll open the doors so he can leave, that not working he tries the next button the alarm button with the bell, it makes a strange ring sound that stays in a air a little after he's stopped pressing the button. He just waits, accepting his fate.

Lincoln: Has read about elevators but has never been in one. He calmly presses the alarm button and waits for help to come, though if help doesn't come after a little while he would ring again.

Landers: Has been in elevators, and often has to use them to go to and from his disciplinary punishments. He'd get excited, this doesn't happen too often. He'd wait a little taking in the fun occurrence. once he was bored, which wouldn't be too long, he'd press the alarm button.

Oscar: Has never been in an elevator. He would at first think this was normal and just stand there annoyed. then he'd realize it's not starting again. He press the button for the floor he needed again. after nothing happens, he'd press at the number buttons, then the other buttons. after not getting it to move or the doors to open, it start jumping, trying to push it down himself.

All My Characters: "What is this." (It takes place in the 1800s XD)

Selcoeurl

Naomi announces that she's going for help, hits the emergency button, then goes for the service hatch.
Brandee tries to hotwire the thing.
CJ makes sure that anyone else around him is all right, hits the emergency button, then goes for the service hatch.
Kieron lifts anyone going for the service hatch up to it if they need help, hits the emergency button, and just kind of resigns himself to waiting to get rescued. (Boy is an absolute unit; he probably wouldn't fit through the hatch.) If he has reason to believe that it's stalled at an actual floor and won't be starting up any time soon, he may instead try to muscle the door open.
The Wannabe Evil Archmage starts plotting how to benefit from the situation.

@kingnocedas group

kacey: stays calm at first, but eventually freaks out and tries her break her way out
nabila: calls someone to try and get her out
karuko: gets excited and messes around by hollering and jumping around, then goes on her phone to wind down. once her phone is out of charge, she lies down and embraces the sweet release of death.

Scenario time!
Phoenix and Zara are embroiled in a heated discussion and don't notice for a few minutes.
Phoenix: "Wait, is the elevator even moving?"
Niara: "No."
Phoenix: "Niara, can you-"
Niara: "Already checked. The error isn't down here, it's up there. I can't do anything from here."
Zara, hefting her sword: "I could always-"
Daisy: "How about we just wait for help. I already contacted them."

evrfighter language

Tsuki: Oh shoot, are we stuck?
Rei, phone in hand: I'll call for help–
Tsuki: Don't
Rei: Why?

Tsuki firmly grasps Rei's shoulders.

Tsuki: So I don't have to go to that dentist appointment.

Rin: Lea, NO.

Kumi probably will start crying or having a panic attack. She isn't used to elevators so she didn't knew there was a alarm button until she started pressing random buttons, hoping one of those will help. When the staff came she was just on the corner crying or, maybe, sleeping.
Maxine will be calm and she just press the alarm button and wait while texting her gf on the phone (Maxine wouldn't tell her that she's stuck there, she doesn't wants to make Kumi sad or worried bout her). When the staff came she just walk away without saying anything, not even a thank you.
