I return, as promised. Brace yourselves for an essay on the magic of Fenlin (My ocs Fen x Berlin)

1: When did they know I'm in love with this person? Who knew first? Were they the one to say it?
Fen knew first, technically, but he didn't overthink it the way Berlin did. He was always just super happy in Berlin's presence and wanted to make him happy in return, but it didn't occur to him to actually confess his feelings to Berlin because he assumed he didn't have a chance (Fen's a Werewolf hybrid and worried that a closer relationship would risk his secret—and Berlin's safety.)
Berlin, on the other hand, had never had a real crush before and didn't even know he was gay until one day, when they had started a two-person band and were singing together in his mom's basement, and he finally thought "wow, this feels different than an ordinary friendship somehow". Cue him becoming gripped with uncertainty and nervousness for most of the story as he tries to find out whether Fen likes him back and whether it would be a good idea to confess his feelings.
As for who says something first? That's a spoiler XDD

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They get emotional and raise their voices pretty fast, but then regret it and apologize before things become too heated. So far, they've only gotten in brief arguments because of misunderstandings or trust issues. Obviously Fen has to keep a lot of secrets from Berlin at first, being a supernatural creature, and that causes problems because Berlin's no fool and doesn't like being lied to. Mostly, however, they argue out of concern for each other's safety, like when Fen was pretending not to be hurt and Berlin got mad at him for not resting properly.

Person A (Fen) to person B (Berlin): Thanks for…..I don't know. Just, thanks.
B to A: You won't get anywhere by running away, Fen. You have to turn around and fight for your freedom. And I want to help you however I can.

4: Sum up their live together in under three sentences, from their meeting to their separation/deaths:
They met by accident when Berlin moved to a new town and found him injured in the woods, then became friends when they realized they went to the same school. Over time, Fen revealed his secret identity to Berlin, who remained loyal and helped him escape his old pack who hated him. They eventually fell in love and became an official couple (the rest of the story is pending for now).

5: Kids?
That's a loooong ways off. I can see them being great parents though, in the future.

6: What song describes their relationship?
I actually have a playlist for them lol. The most fitting song is probably Can I Call You Tonight? by Dayglow.

7: How do they calm each other down?
With reassurance, mostly. Berlin's good with words and Fen can give off a really calming vibe when he wants to. They also try to distract each other from their worries by talking about something they know the other's really into, like music or soccer for Fen, or drawing for Berlin.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
They're both pretty quiet people and a little shy, so they don't easily get overwhelmed by each other. They also share a lot of interests like exploring nature and making music. Berlin's the slightly less socially awkward one, and he's also better at studying, so he helps Fen out a lot at school. Fen, meanwhile, is much better at living in the moment and getting joy out of the little things, so he has a knack for grounding Berlin when he's worried or discouraged.
On the other hand, Fen is a little bit reckless and doesn't like to ask for help, and he can be a bit blunt or oblivious, which is unfortunate because Berlin tends to overthink everything and sometimes gets his feelings hurt. But overall, they're actually very compatible.

Height-wise, Fen makes a good big spoon, and he loves cuddling. However, he's also an Emotional Boi and just wants to be held sometimes, and Berlin is always happy to oblige.

11: What do they do when they're bored and together?
Mostly listen to music together (they like all the same stuff). And of course they have their band, Dodgewood (which is a combination of their last names XD) Fen loves to take naps when he's got nothing else to do, so he'll sleep while Berlin hangs out and draws or reads or something. If they have a bit more energy, they'll take a hike in the woods near Berlin's house, or maybe garden. Berlin will do most of the plant-handling while Fen shifts into his canine form and digs in the dirt to "help."

To make a long story short, they got in a fight because Berlin realized he was being lied to by Fen about something, and Fen stormed off because he was too scared to tell Berlin the truth. They next day, Berlin found out Fen was a Werewolf by accident, and that was when he followed him after school and witnessed him shapeshifting. He was a little traumatized by the shock of it all, so he panicked and ran, and hid in his house for the next few days, refusing to talk to Fen and wanting nothing to do with him. But, eventually he calmed down and gave Fen a chance to explain, and the two of them made up. ^^

REN AND LUCY

  They've had a tendency to flirt at tournaments and games. It's usually met with a lot of teasing (Lucy's like 6' and Ren is 5'5"). They don't know when they started dating or when they fell in love, it just grew and happened without them knowing. A notable moment was their first 'I love you', which was during a ball-dance-thing their friends had set up. Ren came out in a lil komono and Lucy's heart went GAH

• 2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
  Ren has suffered with body dysmorphia from her days in child pageantry. It's a topic of argument between them frequently. Lucy struggles to understand what Ren sees, and Rens reckless ways of caring for her body creates tension between them. Overall, they share similar interest and get on well, so arguments arent a big problem for them.

  Absolutly. Lucy loves kids and thoroughly enjoyed raising her siblings, and would do it again with her own kids in a heart beat. Ren, on the other hand, isn't a big fan of children. They're snotty, loud and disobedient; however, she wants a child of her own so she can raise them and show her parents how to actually raise a kid. She'd be a great mum anyway, she loves mentoring and spoiling people in her care.

• 7: How do they calm each other down?
  Lucy is rather mentally strong. She's calm and has been taught to suck it up and help others. Shes the emotional support of the couple, and lets Ren cry on her shoulder when needed. The stragey mostly consists of giving Ren some space, but making sure she's in eye-range. She comes looking for help if she needs it, but tends to pick herself up and continue like nothing ever happened

• 8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
  Lucy naturally grew up in messy house. It was run by a 8 kids under the age of 17, so things were always everywhere. Rens family is wealthy and very tidy, she need not worry about cleaning messes because there never was one. Cleanings a big thing for them, and they can never really agree on what "Clean" actually means. Despite their conflictions, they fit together well, Lucy being a strong and broad girly-girl, while Ren is a petite tomboy. They both share a mutual adoration for sports, too; that's how they got together in the first place.

  Lucy down right refuses to be the little spoon. One, shes not little, two, she doesn't like the way Ren teases her when she is. Rens fine being the little spoon, she likes knowing someone is there to love and hold her.

  Volleyball! They both adore the sport, so its a lot of tossing and spiking and Rens coach instincts taking over. They both like nature documentaries, as well. Oh, and Ren has taken the hobby of teaching Lucys cat english.

• Been on the same team during a sport/activity? Nope! They have always played for separate teams, but that was never an issues in their relationships.
• Been on opposite teams? Yup! Ren coached Lucy's rival team during high school.
• Gotten in a serious argument and not spoken for longer than a day? Possibly. Their arguments aren't something to converse about unless someone is in serious danger. They don't go long times without speaking to each other anyways, Ren has separation anxiety

Oop time for Oberon and Titania-
1: When did they know I'm in love with this person? Who knew first? Were they the one to say it?
Oberon didn't Know until they'd been married for over a year (it was a political marriage) and Titania Knew slightly earlier, when Oberon was injured in a training exercise and she found him in the Woods. Oberon reluctantly said it first.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
Oh, they fight a lot about various things. Titania is a loud fighter, with lots of shouting, but Oberon is the person who's infuriatingly calm during an argument and always makes you feel like you're overreacting. Before they got together they fought more often, since Oberon saw Titania as a spoiled brat and she saw him as an overly serious stick in the mud.

Oberon, to Titania: "As much as I loathe to admit it…I do not hate you."
Titania to Oberon: "I always thought we'd have more time."

Constant bickering in court, followed by a begrudging alliance and marriage. Oleander strikes, imprisoning them in stone for a century. When freed, Oberon dies to help save the kingdoms.

None. It's very difficult for faeries to conceive. They each have a nephew though (Iam to Titania, and Lucas to Oberon). I mean, you could also sort of consider Robin an adopted kid?

7: How do they calm each other down?
Oberon doesn't lose his temper easily, and values being in control of his emotions a lot. If Titania notices him slowly getting upset during a meeting, she'll usually do something slightly ridiculous to make him smile. If Titania loses her temper, Oberon tries to carry on a serious discussion with her to keep her grounded, and slowly morph the discussion into something light-hearted. Other times, he'll just let Titania shout at whoever she's mad at and just watch everything go down from the sidelines.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
Their forms of magic compliment each other well, with Oberon's being defensive and Titania's offensive, and Oberon's serious composure compliments Titania's more emotional one. They do tend to grate against each other a lot, since both enjoy making snide comments and being the one in charge.

Carmen was the one who realized it first, but it took him awhile. Him and Lyz would always tease and jokingly flirt with each other whenever they hung out or ran into each other in between performances/shows. One time Carmen was at Lyz's apartment doing her makeup when she winked at him. That sort of hit his heart differently. It took him six months to tell Lyz since he was scared of what was to happen. Lyz already had fallen for him but was sort of wondering if she should say something or not.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They both are pretty vocal when it comes to fights so they both slowly get heated at each other. Lyz prefers to put it out there and say what she wants whereas Carmen, he tries to create a middle ground or solve whatever the problem is. Another thing is that when it comes to them get angrier, Carmen's voice gets louder and Lyz's gets quieter. They always are fighting about what's right for the other's well being since they both won't admit their problem. Most of the time fights between them don't happen, they usually have little arguments over things like cooking, laundry, and other stuff. Hell the couple enjoys debating over things.

Meeting in a moment of dread turning into an everlasting bliss. Walking hand in hand through the chaos, change of pace, fire and dragons, bring three along the journey, and flipping off everyone's expectations. Even in their last moments, it felt like they were still standing at the vending machine talking all those years ago.

Carmen and Lyz both love children so much! Lyz just finds it interesting how they grow up so much over time yet they still manage to remind you of when they're born. Carmen used to watch over his nieces and nephews a lot; if his kids will be anything like them, it'll be awesome. Right now the two just want to wait a couple years so they can have nothing on their schedules.

Simple, with cuddles. Cuddles and words of encouragement or affirmation. Sometimes they don't even talk about what's going on, when one of them opens their arms, the other just knows. Carmen likes to sings songs that Lyz likes to make her feel better; or he makes some cupcakes. Lyz prefers to give kisses and hugs before trying to talk about it.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
Both of them have different personalities which manages to compliment each other. Carmen is more reserved and shy whereas Lyz is bold and will fight anyone on the spot. Also Carmen doesn't care if Lyz is the one leading, but will always be by her side. They both are supportive and bring out the best of one another.
Of course the two being workaholics and willing to do every/anything for their spouse sometimes makes things difficult. Lyz likes power through things while Carmen has a slower pace and prefers to take a step back then assess. Sure they might argue or fight here and there, they still love each other.

There's a list full of things they do when they're bored; mostly it's just watching kdramas, doing each others makeup, dancing, and karaoke. If they have a heck ton of time, they'll go shopping or having a meal at the park.

Broken something by wrestling over a spoon/pillow/phone/etc? One time they cracked Carmen's phone screen; he could care less though.
Been on the same team during a sport/activity? Yes, they don't really mind it as long as they know what they're doing.
Been on opposite teams? Totally! Carmen and Lyz like to get competitive against each other, it makes everything fun.
Gotten in a serious argument and not spoken for longer than a day? It only had happened once and the not speaking lasted for almost a whole week.

Leyak was (definitely fangirling) madly in love with Beleth due to how nice of a person he was. The first time she confessed her love for him he politely declined. The second time she confessed she acted much calmer and was actually able to win him over.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They don't fight at all because of Beleth's depression and suicidal thoughts. Leyak doesn't want to risk her partner killing himself so she doesn't try to provoke a fight.

B to A: "What did I do to deserve a demon as handsome as you?"

They form The Singing Demons together and declare their love for each other 2 years later. They fight death itself and marry happily after its all over. They live out the rest of their days in happiness.

It might be hard to have kids when you're fighting Death itself.

7: How do they calm each other down?
Leyak does most of the calming because Beleth tends to break down in private due to his depression. She will whisper reassuring words, hug, and be a comforting presence so Beleth can remain calm. The only times that Beleth does the calming is when Leyak has had an extremely rough day, which doesn't happen much due to how good Leyak is at suppressing her sadness.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
Both Leyak and Beleth have a very calm, confident persona. However Leyak tends to kill people that have insulted or harmed Beleth in any way. She is also very cold and calculating when she is talking to someone she dislikes. This is the complete opposite of Beleth, who despises violence.

Vincent never quite understood the concept of romantic love, so he didn't know how do identify when he felt it. He also didn't know that lgbt people existed… SO that made things even trickier. Vincent fell in love first, but Carter was the first to know that he was in love with Vincent. Vincent is probably the one who says it first in the end, though.

2) What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They've probably had misunderstanding dealing with anxiety. Vincent finds it hard to put himself in other people's shoes, so he at first has a hard time understanding Carter's anxiety. He has probably said Carter's being irrational and stupid when Carter becomes anxious… OOF. They probably need to communicate more, too. The two of them have very different ways of making and executing plans. Vincent's anger is very dry. Stern, stubborn, harsh, loud. Carter's anger is very emotional. More tears. Carter has probably UNINTENTIONALLY guilt tripped Vincent into being nicer with his tears though.

Vincent to Carter: You are charming and idiotic all the same… But I'm glad that you're around to keep me sane.
Carter to Vincent: Your stubbornness is oddly admirable at times, and I don't know where I would be if I hadn't met you.

4) Sum up their live together in under three sentences, from their meeting to their separation/deaths:
An odd meeting, they find themselves not the best of teammates despite the need to cooperate. They become closer over time, learning what they have in common and learning important life lessons from one another. It's almost too late, but in the end they stay together, death do they part.

Honestly? Probably not. I don't see them as the people to have kids. Maybe the cool "uncles" or something to their friend's kids… I actually like that idea, yeah.

7) How do they calm each other down?
Vincent learns how to deal with Carter's anxiety over time. Anger and sadness is very closely tied with Carter. Vincent points out the five senses to ground him. He holds his hands and asks "What do you feel? What are three things you can see?" etc. Carter waits patiently for Vincent to stop being angry. He learns that usually what Vincent needs is a moment to find and calm himself down. No use in a yelling match.

8) In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
Vincent appreciates Carter's ability to keep moral. The laid backness of Carter, although sometimes frustrating, keeps him sane. He also greatly enjoys Carter's spontaneity which furthers his own love of adventure.
How Carter feels about Vincent's stubbornness and hard-headedness is similar to how Vincent feels about Carter's laid backness. It annoys and frustrates him, but it's just what he needs, and he knows it. He appreciates VIncent's drive and often compares it to his own.
However, Vincent and Carter have very different views on living… It's a bit complicated to explain, actually.

Carter probably tries to start a conversation, but Vincent is the silent type. They may sit in comfortable silence, left to their own thoughts, maybe have a sparring match if both of them are up for it, and on the occasion, they may also cuddle.

YEEHAW ADORABLE GAY DISASTER AND CRACKHEAD BI HURRICANE TIIIIIMMMMMEE (Agent Four and Agent Ten)

1: When did they know I'm in love with this person? Who knew first? Were they the one to say it?

Ten knew he was in love with Four when Four blew up a microwave. Ten had known he was gay his whole life, but nobody really made him feel fluttery the way Four did, and Ten knew he wanted Four. Four was oblivious to Ten's extremely obvious crush, and really only started feeling romantic feelings when Ten took a bullet that was meant to kill Four. Four sat with him in the hospital for weeks while Ten recovered in a coma. Ten woke up and the first thing he saw was Four's face and Four started crying. Four kissed Ten and confessed his love, Ten admitting that he felt exactly the same.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?

They don't fight a lot, but when they do, it's usually Ten yelling at Four for doing something reckless. Four always says, "It's not you doing it! So why do you keep yelling at me for it?!" and Ten always responds with, "Because I love you, Four, and if anything ever happened to you, I don't know if I could live with it." Four usually apologizes and they hug and cry together.

Ten to Four: "I love you so much, I can't imagine living my life if you're not apart of it."

They meet as Four blows up a microwave, Ten is instantly in love. Ten takes a bullet for Four, and Four immediately feels the same way. They spend the rest of their lives on the battlefield or at home snuggling.

Yeah I could definitely see them as dads in the future, but for now, nope.

Four usually just kisses Ten, and that shuts him up. Ten just holds him and tells Four that everything will be alright.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?

Four is a crackhead, who always acts on impulse and never has a plan. Ten is a ball of anxiety who loves and cares for everyone. Ten usually stops Four from doing something stupid, and Four helps Ten 'live a little.' This is also how they grate against each other. Ten is constantly worrying for Four, but Four tells him not to (as he's being shot out of a cannon jkjk).

Four likes to take Ten on little adventures, like going hiking to a lake or going zip lining. Ten likes to do more indoorsey stuff, like cooking classes (Four is banned from the kitchen because of the microwave incident, but he just likes to watch Ten cook and eat the foot he's preparing) or dance lessons. They also just like to sit on the couch and watch movies together, Love, Simon is a favorite.

They refuse to be on opposite teams so always. They're a dynamic duo in sports because Ten is super strong and Four is really fast and agile.

Alessandra also Knew for a while but also refused to admit it, she nearly does when Percy first joins up with the Expedition Force but then gets derailed when they get into a fight. The next time they reunite, Percy has been badly injured and Alessandra ends up as his medic. He recognizes her, and admits that he loves her.

They bicker a lot, as their personalities tend to clash and they're both very headstrong. They have similar arguing styles, and don't hesitate to point out the other's mistakes. Alessandra tends to lean more towards the silent treatment. Although they do still bicker and banter as adults, most of their intense arguments occurred in their late teens.

Wren gets awful panic attacks, and in the time period of the story mental illness is ignored and stuff. So, he goes to an abandoned cottage he found and cleaned up (it's a big part of the story), cuddle Rowan, or work himself till he legit can't walk anymore. Rowan is always pretty composed but Wren kissing him calms him down when he gets antsy.

It was a long, slow burn. Emma didn't really notice Calahir too much more than any of the rest of his group for the first year or two he lived with them, but as time passed, he started to notice this strange, quiet, peaceful elf more and more. Of course, everyone loved and knew Calahir, since he was basically a capybara. All the group, regardless of temper or tendency for violence, feel peaceful and calm around Calahir. However Emma began to spend more time with Calhi, and the two became fast friends. Calahir was the one who finally brought it up, though Emma had been developing feelings for a long time by then.

Calhi's not really capable of fighting anyone, tbh. At least not out of a lost temper. The closest they've really gotten to fighting was a severe disagreement of opinion, which Calahir simply steered them through without more than a "Welp, I guess we just disagree then. That's fine."

Oh boy there have been no words spoken on the subject. Felix has always been a bit of a hopeless romantic, and kinda fell for Sally when he first meet her in grade school. Neither of them have ever said it out loud, but it's pretty clear to those around them that they care for each other, a lot. Felix is way too shy to ever bring it up directly, and Sally's honestly the same/not 100% sure if she really feels the same way. Felix may or may not be ready to settle into a dedicated relationship anyway.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They've argued a couple times about some things. Never too much, because Felix can and will bend over backwards to keep her happy. The worst 'argument' they ever had was when Sally told him he needed to leave the tiny town they lived in because there was a murderer stalking it. Her family was relocating, but he couldn't leave. It was one of the rare times things got at all heated between them. Other exhibitions include her constantly badgering him to hear his music he writes, and him really not wanting to but always giving in eventually. Otherwise they have a very happy friendship.

However Sally is a lot more science minded than Felix, who is strictly an arts person. She loves marine biology, and he's afraid of the ocean.
Also she's down to earth and wants a very committed relationship, and he's flightily and kinda likes having his freedom. That's honestly the main thing holding them back from actually coming out and dating or anything.

I’m going to try this with Lucitius and Synthia. (I might do another at some point. This is actually really neat, and pretty helpful, grin).

So, for context, they had been in a relationship for a bit, but it was initially more of a passionate affair. Lucitius had had a wife many years prior, but she and their son died.

Lucitius figured out his feelings first. He’d gone for a walk and remembered his wife and their former relationship, then realized that he felt the same way about Synthia that he had for his late wife.

Unfortunately, he ran away from Synthia (he was afraid he’d lose her too. Which he almost did anyway). This devastated Synthia, and that’s how she found out about her own feelings.

When they finally reunited, and after Synthia confronted him, she was the first to say ‘I love you’.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They both have tempers, but Synthia is definitely the fiery one of the two, and easily scares Lucitius (even though he’s a demigod and she’s a mortal). Sure, they have moments where they are both yelling at each other in anger, but Lucitius is almost always more prone to backing down or running away. When the fights get particularly harsh, Synthia might hit Lucitius, but he never hits back. Not only does he respect Synthia as a woman, but his attacks are often lethal and the thought of hurting Synthia, or worse, terrifies him.

Typically the fights are about Lucitius’ behavior, since he can get out of control very easily, and he tends to act impulsively (primarily in a way that can be harmful or deadly to others). Synthia doesn’t like this, despite knowing that Lucitius can’t always control himself, and occasionally confronts him about it.

Lucitius is typically the one in need of soothing, and Synthia has discovered various ways to do so. Depending on the situation, she’ll talk to him, reassure him, hug him, cuddle him, kiss him (whether they do anything more or not), and/or otherwise stay within arm’s reach.

Synthia is more subtle about her moods, so sometimes Lucitius doesn’t catch when she needs soothing, but when he does he’s quick to ask her about it, to talk to her and figure out any ways he can help ease her distress. Given his need to be close to her almost always, he tends to hug and cuddle her as well.

They are both very passionate and compassionate, and were raised to have honorable principles. They both witnessed the destruction of their birth tribes, and thought that they were the only survivors (they weren’t). When Lucitius ran off, they both went a bit crazy until they reunited. They also desire to create an enlightened society.

However, Lucitius’ definition of ‘honor’ is loose. He’s also morally ambiguous (he has no qualms of killing someone he just helped), has hellacious mood swings, and his behavior is often extreme. He’s also obstinate, somewhat unintentionally.
—Synthia, on the other hand, has a more defined sense of honor, a goodly sense of morality, and her behavior and moods are considerably more grounded.

Also, Lucitius technically died a few years after the destruction of his tribe (he was resurrected years before meeting Synthia). And, the memories of that entire event constantly bother Lucitius (whereas Synthia has come to terms with it).

Sometimes they’ll just talk and hang out, maybe go for long walks. Other times, they’ll literally cuddle in bed all day, among other intimate things.

Though, being together and bored is infrequent because they’re basically the equivalent of very busy monarchs trying to protect their people from the frequent attacks of folk that don’t like Lucitius, or that want to exploit him and steal his immense power.

Hand a blind-folded pillow fight: No. Blindfolds aren’t really a thing in their world, and their ‘pillow’ is actually a pile of soft feathers.

And two, they would rather share or take turns than fight over the item. But, even if it does happen, Lucitius can quickly repair what was broken.

very different ways indeed. Lybra has PTSD-induced panic attacks, so when one comes up, Ali gives him space, a warm mug of tea, and takes over duties until Lybra's feeling better. Ali, on the other hand, has anger issues, so Lybra generally tries to redirect him with other suggestions or removal from the situation in general. Neither do very well with hugs or touches, so it's usually words and actions used.

They're both generally chaotic good, so there's a 50/50 chance one of them has a good idea on hand, but they have a hard time agreeing on plans if they both have them. They're stubborn and much too similar sometimes, and it can wear them both down. But! They're both geniuses in their own ways and recognize that in each other, and their chaoticness means they work really well together in stressful situations, especially as a pilot and mechanic, respectively.

Having so much JoeyMabel brainrot lately that I knew I had to do this

The two of them lived at the same apartment complex for a few years before actually getting to know each other, which started when Mabel left a letter and homemade baked goods outside Joey's door, and he did the same for her. From there they became friends with a sort of "what if we kissed? haha just kidding! unless-" element where you could tell they felt the same for each other but neither wanted to make the first move. Honestly they're one of those couples where they can't pinpoint when they started dating, just that they're together now. They know at around the same time, and Joey says it first. Mabel is the one to propose, but that's another story.

2: What are they like when they fight? What do they fight over?
They don't fight often, but when they do, it's usually about the aforementioned vigilante stuff. While Mabel works for the government-sanctioned superhero league, Joey has long since ditched them and now gone freelance. Joey tends to be the louder one during fights, whereas Mabel has that sort of infuriating way of talking down to the person they're arguing that makes the person just feel stupid and irrational. Another common topic of argumentation, especially early on in their relationship, was Ira, another vigilante who Joey worked with on occasion. If their lines of work weren't so dangerous, they'd adopt some kids.

Joey is more physical; if Mabel is upset about something he'll hug her or just hold her close until she's calm and then listen to her explain whatever's wrong. Mabel is a secretary and has to work with people all day, and their calming methods reflect that–they generally try to talk Joey along and get him to explain what's wrong and then rationalize a solution or just listen. And sometimes, given some of the stuff Joey's witnessed, just listening to him explain something awful that he saw or intervened in or failed to stop and then giving him a hug and letting him cry if it was especially bad is what works best.

8: In what ways do they compliment each other? In what ways do they grate against each other?
Well they're a secretary and a bouncer so I think that sets the scene. Joey is jaded, a bit grumpy, and one of the "could kill you but is also a softie on the inside" types whereas Mabel is just…a sunshiney person, very eager to help whenever they can. In both combat and comfort Joey is more physical (insert essay about how his power is literally charmspeak but he dislikes using it here, I don't wanna get into it or this would be way longer lol) whereas Mabel is more verbal or psychological I guess. Joey is more brash and emotionally driven while Mabel is generally more chill but also does have their limits and is by no means a doormat. For a while, Mabel was the only person Joey was comfortable being emotionally vulnerable around, or vulnerable at all, considering he'd go to her when he had an injury he couldn't treat on his own (and honestly a small part of Mabel is excited to be involved in something as reckless as vigilante crime fighting, although the bigger part of them is still incredibly worried for their boyfriend's well-being. As she becomes more dissatisfied with the League and finds out more of their shady secrets, this turns to more than just the thrill of adrenaline associated with being associated with something "illegal".) While their different personalities can grate on each other a bit, they altogether compliment each other well and smooth out each other's rough edges.

Maybelle is usually one to go quiet, she hates fighting with words, and she's awful at it regardless. Valerie can be inconsiderate of others too, which means it can be hard for her to pick up on May's discomfort. Maybelle often has issues dealing with Valerie's childishness, whether it be for fear or frustration driving it.

Valerie knows May is a bit more hesitant with physical contact if she doesn't initiate, but Valerie tends to reach for hands a lot, or hum softly to ground Maybelle a little bit.

Valerie has all of the childishness that May had taken away, and Maybelle offers Valerie a source of trust and unconditional support that she'd been craving her whole life without even knowing.

andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) fell in love with Rin in his human life and again as a Doll. He met Rin when he was 7 years old not long after his father's death, and she found him alone and quietly crying to himself. When she touched his cheek to wipe away his tears, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) ran away a flustered mess. He was so whipped for her that one of the reasons he wanted to move away from his hometown was to see her again, even if he didn't know her name. After he died and became a Doll, he lost his memories of Rin and met her again for the first time as a Doll. Rin didn't recognize him either because he seemed so different at the time. They both held feelings of nostalgia, as if they met before but didn't remember.

While andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) does act a bit like an jerk towards her, he's a bit protective of Rin and can tell when she's not okay through subtle gestures. He's also Rin's "test dummy", metaphorically (letting out her emotions) and literally (testing her gadgets on himself).

They bicker over the smallest of things, although it's more like playful banter rather than fighting. They're both pretty stubborn kids, especially with andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s pessimistic demeanor constantly clashing with Rin's idealistic optimism. Their fights are mostly played off as jokes though. Basically immovable object (andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)) vs. unstoppable force (Rin)

In turn, Rin knows andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s dislike of physical contact and expresses her affection through the gadgets she makes for him.

I like how they contrast colors and personality. Opposites attract, saavy guy and energetic girl. Rin and andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) are like two sides of the same coin when it comes to the topic of death. Rin sees death as a path of life and as a peaceful conclusion that is inevitable, which is why she desires to live her life to the fullest. In contrast, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) views death as a release from suffering to the point he actively desires it, although he's already dead.
