Hey so idk if any of you remember me but i haven't been on notebook.ai in literal months, and i gotta work on a ton of drawing requests [fml] but i just haven't been happy with anything i've been turning out until this one here and i just wanted to share it with yall ♥︎

i usually just focus on the shape?? before worrying about how all the hair goes into a bun, and then once i have that down i'll put down a few highlight colours and maybe a few shadows before kinda blending it all in with a streaky smudging brush to give the illusion of hair (so like i kinda pretend the smudge brush is like a comb, i guess and go over where the grain of the hair is supposed to show) and then i'll go over it with a tapered brush in a slightly lighter colour to make the wispy bits and to give a few highlights? im not very good at giving tips because i still dont really know my own process?? if that makes sense
_{idk dark hair is easier because i can literally just make it look like a solid smudge and nobody will notice or care}
