My weird dream that I made a story

“Darling, I must share with you glorious news.”

He made himself attentive. “What is it, my dear?”

I could not contain my happiness, “I am pregnant! We are to be parents!”

“I can’t believe it!” He jumped, taking me in his arms. “This is fantastic! I cannot wait to make a wonderful family with you!”

“Nor can I!”

“Perhaps we should be married, my love. With this expectation, I feel as though it is no longer a question at all. I only ask as a formality of conversation, but I believe it is the natural next step and I truly believe you agree.”

“Absolutely! We should be married at once! I am now tired of waiting for time to tick by until we are of acceptable standing to wed. With child, we should confirm our companionship in matrimony.”

“You absolutely will not marry, you insolent child!”

“But, Mama, please! We are with child and our love is so deep, it is a sure answer!”

“I will not allow it! The disgrace!”

“I will notify [William]! He will rescue me from this horrid home!”

“[William’s] parents have already seen to it that he was moved, and not even I know where to! Though, I know just where to take you!”

“But my baby! What about my baby?”

“Let that scoundrel raise the child himself. After all, he was the one who burdened you.”

“Please, Mama! Please, I want my baby and my love!”

“Quiet, child! Settle yourself!”

The commune is taking us in. They said that my disgrace was of no concern to them and that all were welcome. A haven they said. No where would be a haven without my loves near.

I arrived there, at the commune, taking in the vastness of the building. We were housed in the agriculture district. Beautiful trees were clustered everywhere, though that was simply a trade mark of the commune. Though the entire commune was enclosed, plant and animal life was still prevalent. Many flowers grew around the lovely fountains and streams created purely for the aesthetic as well as to help us take seriously our environment. I would surely explore all I could when first available.

After many weeks, I was informed that my love was allegedly present in the commune as well. I sought to confirm this rumor at once. I called out in the dormitory area, searching for him. I garnered no response for some time; I grew so increasingly frustrated. I begged for an answer, something to confirm one side or the other with no room for doubt for my mind would create as many infinite possibilities as time would allow.

As I called out into to open, I heard the deliverance of the private [elevator], one that would belong to one of the suites. It opened before me, exposing it’s empty compartment, it’s industrial walls. Perhaps this was my love sending for me. Perhaps he heard my calls, though perhaps I am illusioned in my own mind. With hesitation, I stepped into the [elevator]. It’s metal doors slid closed and it began it’s journey. A sign on the interior of the door read ‘These elevators are for exclusive access to owners of the [VIP] suites.’ If this was my love, then he was not dishonest with his proclamation of great fortune. I only though he was making good fun.

I wondered what I might find when the doors opened. Who would be there? My love or perhaps someone to do me great harm. A foolish decision I may have made, but how I wanted answers.

The [box] slowed to a halt, opening it’s doors like the beginning of a grand production. I only saw the glass and [drywall] of the suite. The voices of an arguing pair, presumably both male were clear. I stepped out, just far enough to gain sight of the duo. There,I saw him, my love. I could just stand in the one place, not a sound or further movement. I watched as he argued with another man, older than him, and one I did not know. He was the one to notice me first, his eyes dating to me and then back. He was unbothered by my arrival, completely unsurprised, and I suspected he knew of it before.

The eyes of my love flicked over just long enough to spot something new. He turned, realization coming across his face. I began to cross to him, but could not contain myself as I broke into a run. My lungs were filled with air, my mind with clarity, and my heart with love with his arms holding me.

“My darling, I missed you!” He held me close as he spoke. “They tried to keep us away, but we could never be contained for long.”

“I missed you as well. I have never know a joy to be matched with our reunion, at last.”

My love turned to his companion.

“Did you bring her to me?” His companion smiled, “Yes, sir. I heard her searching for you. Apparently she caught wind of your being here and sought to confirm. She sounded...desperate for it to be true. I sent down the [elevator] to fetch her and bring her here.”

The soft, sleepy whimper of a baby caught my ear. I could hardly believe it to be true. “My baby!” Sure enough, my darling child lay gently asleep. Not wanting to wake her, I quietly sat beside her, admiring her glorious beauty.

Tears slid so cautiously on my cheeks. Facing my love, with my baby near, it as like the time before our families tried rip us apart. I could not believe I was again in the presence of those who were my world. All was right and well and would continue to be as such. I would not let them take them from me again. I would rather die.
