Next, "The Buddy System," explores the normally bored thoughts of the school outcast, Sam. The school crybaby, Celeste, is paired with Sam in an unlikely duo for the school field trip to the carnival. Sams once black-and-white world floods with color. Sam longs to show Celeste the wonders that have opened his eyes and urges her to take the leap of faith. In the last drizzly story, "Stormy Day," Olivia faces fertility issues. Desperate for answers, she seeks advice from the local fortune-teller. She soon finds herself guided by an unforeseen presence.
