To do
  • Priests and Paladins go through a ceremony to receive a unique spiritual familiar from the deity who patrons them. This is not always the familiar or deity anticipated.
  • Cha-mi's people sleep on rugs and blankets that are aired out during the day.
  • Games: Mancala is a popular game among his people. Mancala'chatti is a tray the game may be played on. /// Solitaire is a known term. But who are the French here?
  • Sail Cities. Artificial islands composed of various ships and boats gathered together, perhaps around joining docks.
  • Faegates. Using a faegate takes you to a similar dimension but it's uhhhh very Wrong. Just slightly off. Very empty. It's very simple to get to another faegate and pop back in. Very Easy.

Creatures and Races

  • Faceless. Grim reapers of local mythology.
  • Hyphen in names indicates a very old name, as it's not so popular anymore.

Some Actual Things That Could Be Cool

  • A tome filled with cryptic writings, all in Common, but with confusing terminology.
  • A corn husk doll which dances under its own power when music is played nearby.
  • An old coin, showing a hare on one side and the moon on the reverse.
  • The journal of a philosopher, full of wise sayings and anecdotes.
  • A mahogany box of religious scrolls.
  • A copper badge that you have never seen before in your life, though it has your name on it.
  • A copper lighter that never runs out of fluid
  • A bottle of rum that never runs out.
  • Some vials of liquid that create moss on anything they touch. This moss keeps growing and will eventually cover the whole thing. Then the moss withers and flakes off.
Character: Captain Rose
  • She has her ship at start through her company who holds the favor for later. It turns out the company is the team's enemy and she ultimately makes the choice to sacrifice her ship, which has long represented freedom (though false) to her.
  • If I make her a tad older she may have spent time as a mercenary upon leaving the cult (mindsets, and all that). People who might recognize her from that time may believe she's her own daughter. Actually a really good idea, so she's a little less worried about the cult and then I can whammy her.
  • Alternative keepsake (Runaway)? If so, alter Book details.
  • Features: Sky Network (mercantile, smuggling), Cult Network (other escapees feel a kinship with her), A Family History (archaic literature, certain architectures)
  • Inventory for aging effects, age in timelines to account for time spent as 'Rose' among mercenaries.

Character: Kolt

  • Where did he learn to be a rogue? What guild?
  • Is Thieves' Cant a thing here? What's it called?
  • Where did he meet his wife? Maybe she was a patient of his. A bruiser? She could have been an enforcer. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/615163630364178175/.
  • Hey, he's actually similar in age to Captain Rose. Were they in the same mercenary company? Cerise could have too, thinking about it.
  • Why isn't he in that business anymore, anyway? Too close of a brush with the law? Or maybe the company is holding debt over his/their heads just like with Captain Rose. Maybe they killed his wife or have been holding her and they only kill her when he and his daughter don't betray Captain Rose.
  • He has remarkably steady hands from being a back-alley doctor.
  • Features: Sky Network (mercantile, more smuggling)
  • Alter inventory for aging

Character: Virginia Adon

  • If Captain Rose thinks back to before she shot up, she vaguely remembers having met her just once back then. She stuck out to her as wearing her hair pulled back away from her horns, as if they were something to be proud of. Rose wanted to be like that.
  • She was once a lawman, before she was an enforcer. Maybe she was held to a higher standard than others because of her features? And police was the way to go until she realized that it was all corrupt anyway. Her new job really isn't that different, and the benefits are way better. Like a cute husband.
  • Her only friends on the force were dead or otherwise removed by the time she left. She's lost too many friends. She's slow to make new ones. She can stare down a hellhound without flinching. Independence: When people follow orders blindly, they embrace a kind of tyranny. Her hatred of the force is blinding and unreasoning. She avoids them where she can. Those who fight beside her are worth fighting for: They were, at least. I'm loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care. I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest often have the most to hide. Someone I loved died because of I mistake I made. That will never happen again. An innocent person is in prison for a crime that I committed. I'm okay with that.
  • Thieves' Cant or equivalent. She speaks it. 2 languages from Watchman.
  • Features: Watcher's Eye, Criminal Specialty (Enforcer), Criminal Contact

Character: Cerise

  • Features: Sky Network (mercantile, smuggling)
  • Alter inventory for aging (sans crossbow, instruments)
