Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: 10 Years In The Future
yo, if you don't mind me asking - have you decided what universe Eye of the Storm takes place in? Based off of the fact that there are no humans, I'd suggest the Mystery Dungeon universe. That's where Etch and Ray and Mockingjay all come from for me. It's very simple, actually, you can read about my own headcanon as to what's going on in it on its universe page on Notebook. I can explain more about the official canon and game structure of it to you if you'd like to set it there.

As for other non-human Pokemon games, I believe the only other one is PokePark, which is very cheesy (though I love it) and honestly pretty implausible for a real roleplay. You'd have the best bet with it as a Mystery Dungeon roleplay, but I suppose a general no-human Pokemon universe roleplay with no game alignment would work as well.

Hmm... I was going for a general no-human universe but a Mystery Dungeon sounds cool :-0 if I did go with a Mystery Dungeon, I would have to rewrite the entire script I had in mind for the RP (but that's okay, I was planning to anyways lol I didn't like how it turned out) because I don't want my script to collide with Mystery Dungeon

*and this is the moment I realize I literally have little to zero idea about any of the Pokémon games*

Interesting! Are you planning on sticking to the canon Mystery Dungeon, or would you like to give my very very p00l headcanon version universe a spin?

And hey, by the way, I think we can figure out a little something for the legendaries. There's something in Super Mystery Dungeon's plot that we can use against them if you wish >:)

Good question, I don't know if I want to go with Mystery Dungeon because I don't know anything about it other than the player turns into a Pokémon and they get to venture in Mystery Dungeons

Aha, yeah, that's basically it for the established canon. All that the developers have confirmed is that this takes place in a different universe than the human one, although humans exist in fairy tales and the two universes are greatly linked, with a select few having the ability to travel between them. Nobody's ever established why Mystery Dungeons exist, so the fanbase (including me) takes that into their own hands >:)

And by the way, basically everything that you need to know is in the Notebook.ai page, minus everything about psycadas, the primal legendaries, and the history. In a nutshell, there are these wacko Pokemon who wander around aimlessly in these things called Mystery Dungeons that have different floors and are everywhere across the world and you get to fight them to carry out missions like rescue Pokemon, bring a gift to someone, go exploring with them, etc. They're all very low risk and all the Pokemon are pushovers unless you find yourself without any good items or you accidentally wander into a Monster House and/or anger Kecleon.

hey, since scratch thought it was funny muting mink, could you head on over to notebook?

s jk dkjdifinseife

oh no, I'm busy right now and can't get on Notebook, I'm really sorry

okay so I read your comment, and my answer is, for my sanity, no, I will not give you a short summary of Super Mystery Dungeon because we all know it'll end up 7 pages long and I don't want to wear out my fingers lol. What I can give you is my explanation of what the plot elements include that we could use to get rid of the legends in this roleplay. Do you want me to private message you on Notebook to keep it secret, or are you fine with me putting it on here? I can't get on Notebook right now, so if you want me to private message you it'll take a few hours until I can.

ALSO, if this convinces you more, there are these things called Emeras introduced in PSMD - most explorers wear these things called emera looplets that you can put a set number of emeras in. Emeras are little jewels that can be used to do things such as power up attacks for a little bit, alert you to other Pokemon nearby, find items, and - wait for it- mega evolve. Most of the time these emeras dissolve outside of dungeons, but I would wager someone could find a way to make them more permanent...

Okay now that's sick :-0 yeah I'm fine with messaging here but I might need to be more careful if PSMD goes into more serious themes that we'll discuss (like blipping)

Death has, as far as I know, never been directly mentioned in any game but Pokemon Y. I can confirm that it definitely does not go into that. The plot element I mentioned isn't the legendaries dying, but being blocked off from appearing in a different way.

okAY that's good X-D

So, what I was originally thinking when I said "plot element we could use," I was thinking about the fact that the plot of PSMD mostly revolves around Pokemon (particularly legendaries) turning to stone. At first, I thought we could schedule the roleplay during the period of time where all legendaries were turned to stone. But then I felt like a goof, because then I remembered... it wasn't just the legendaries, it was literally all Pokemon, and in any case everyone would be in a big panic if all the legends were going around turning into stone. Plus, the period in which that happens is very small and it would be hard to squeeze an entire roleplay into that time. So I had to rethink it a bit, and after some brainstorming, I thought: since there are some select Pokemon that can bring others from one universe to another, what if one of those Pokemon brought all of the legendaries to the PokeHuman/straight-up human universe and out of the Mystery Dungeon one?

If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, I can give you a list of all the Pokemon who can do that. I've only played Super, so all I can give you off of memory is Mew, possibly Xerneas, Victini, and probably Arceus and Giratina as well.

Actually, Jirachi could probably do it too, with his wish-granting abilities. Add Jirachi to that list as well. And quite possibly Gengar, Xatu, and Gardevoir.

That's an interesting idea :-0 also it's slightly funny how I was actually planning for all the legendries to turn into stone lol but universe hopping would be cool too

Aha, that's ironic, unfortunate that the time period that- HEY WAIT A MINUTE, THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY HEADCANON OF THE FUTURE AFTER PSMD THAT CAN BE USED FOR THIS AND IT INVOLVES MARTHA

WE CAN ACTUALLY DO THE TURNING TO STONE PART

*has no idea who Martha is bUT HEY LET'S DO IT >:-V*

ray's woif?

oH yEAh X-D

OKAY SO MARTHA JOINED A GANG RIGHT?? and this is hard to explain since you haven't played PSMD but basically there are these two dudes named Bee and Hee (they're actually just both Beheeyem in the game, but there were three of them (Yem is a good guy) and it's confusing just having them all have the same name so here we are) who have the power to turn Pokemon to stone (Yem and Mr. Nuzleaf (someone from the game) have it too, but as mentioned before, they're totally cool kiddos) and honestly they probably shouldn't have the power anymore because the evil being who gave them the power (and was controlling them to use it for them) was destroyed BUT for the purposes of the story I'm gonna say that they rediscovered it somehow blah blah blah okay SO what happened here is there were these three Beheeyem who were being mind controlled by a weird evil orb dude in the sky who was the personification of all evil in the world which obviously isn't good, and his goal is to kill everyone on the planet so he can get more power or something alright?? and so he mind controlled these poor kids (plus Mr. Nuzleaf, who is absolutely the best acorn dad to ever exist I love him) to go out and turn people to stone using his own power, they still acted like themselves but he controlled what they said and stopped them from stopping themselves and stuff I believe

Mr. Nuzleaf was being controlled too but he was more of a secret agent who didn't actively go out and petrify people because guess what, he was a daaaadddd! you know who he was the adoptive dad of? the protagonist!!!!!! so anyway in the climax of the game he's revealed to actually have been a bad guy all along and everyone's like WHAT BUT THIS DUDE'S MY DAD MY SOUTHERN ACORN DAD WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT THE MAN WHO ALWAYS SAYS RECKON AND ALWAYS CARES FOR ME NO MATTER WHAT WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S A BAD GUY and it's very sad and tissues for your tears are basically required to get through the scene

oh no I'm doing a summary of the game now, Icey what have you done

SO anyway let's get back on track alright so Beheeyem, Beheeyem, Beheeyem, and Nuzleaf are evil AND OH NO I FORGOT TO MENTION YVELTAL I KNEW I WAS MISSING SOMEONE YVELTAL WAS MIND CONTROLLED TO DO STONE STUFF TOO AND IT'S EPIC BECAUSE HE'S A LEGENDARY and yes he's the literal bringer of death and stuff but he's actually pretty nice I guess, you get on his good side once you save him from Dark Matter's (the weird orb evil dude in the sky) control right before the big boss fight where you kill em (you kill Dark Matter, by the way, not Yveltal)

and anyway I forgot to mention Mr. Nuzleaf isn't actually your dad, remember how in PMD games you're a human turned into a Pokemon and brought to this universe with amnesia and no memories except for the fact that you're actually a human and also your name? yeah well right after that happened you are attacked by Beheeyem and then you run away and Mr. Nuzleaf's on a walk in the forest for some reason and you run up to him and are like "PLEASE HELP THERE ARE SCARY ALIENS TRYING TO KILL ME" and he's like "wOAH I reckon that's not very good! let's go hide in this mystery dungeon" and then you go into a mystery dungeon and fight your way back to town and then he basically adopts you and you meet your best friend and blah blah blah it's very sweet until he's like 'yeah, I reckon you look about school age!' and forces you to go to this random kindergarten-level school for an entire hecking quarter of the game

this is way more than the usual 7 comments I'm sorry Icey but I must continue

SO SO SO oh no I forgot what I was originally gonna say about all of this, now I need to reread everything to try and remember

ALRIGHT so AFTER YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIEND WHO ARE STILL KINDERGARTEN AGE OR SOMETHING GO UP INTO THE SKY AFTER DARK MATTER TURNS EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR YOU INTO STONE AND TRIES TO MAGNETICALLY SHOOT THE PLANET INTO THE SUN AND YOU GO UP AND FIGHT HIM AND THEN WHEN YOU'RE DONE STUFF HAPPENS AND PLOT TWISTS ARE REVEALED THEN YOUR PARTNER SAYS SOMETHING VERY CHEESY AND DESTROYS DARK MATTER WITH THE POWER OF WORDS, everything goes back to normal, nobody's stone anymore (but the only cure if it happens again is gone, ruh roh) and I FORGOT TO SAY when you're turned to stone, your body is stone in the real world but your consciousness is basically removed and transferred to this other dimension that's called the Voidlands and is basically nigh-impossible to escape except for this one door that opens for like a split second after random periods of time, it could be weeks before it opens again but if you blink you miss it, and it's also guarded by these creepy shadow things called Void Shadows that can turn into other Pokemon and impersonate anyone, they basically look like black, sludgy Slugma if you're wondering, there's this black goop that goes everywhere whenever anything happens to them and it's yucky

anyway SO in my headcanon postgame, 10 years after the ending of PSMD when everyone's okay (and Mr. Nuzleaf is very very sorry for what he's done and still wants to check in on the protagonist like a dad would and it's honestly heartbreakingly sentimental and I love him so much okay he's so genuinely amazing, also one of the Beheeyem eventually turned back to the good side after a weird blip happened where everyone was temporarily released from DM's control for a moment and he was able to break free) it's been 10 years since the end and Serene Village (the village Mr. Nuzleaf lives in and the home village of your best friend partner dude) is very peaceful, two of your classmates (the bully jerk (now reformed) and the sweet girl he had a crush on) are now police, the bully jerk's sidekick has opened a shop (the town previously had none) that will open any treasure chests found in dungeons (for some reason?? why are there treasure chests I don't understand), Mr. Nuzleaf is now mARRIEDDDD to this nice lady in the town named Roselia (who had a kid, Budew, now a Roserade in her 20s just starting out her adult life), Carracosta (your best friend partner's adoptive dad) and Mr. Nuzleaf are buddies who like to drink coffee and chat about parenting and just dad stuff in general, Yem (the good Beheeyem) hangs out in Mr. Nuzleaf's shed because Mr. Nuzleaf's the only one who really cares about him now??? because he did so many bad things and he didn't really have a life before that and the world basically hates him now, Mr. Nuzleaf and his wife are really the only ones who understand what he went through and actually care about him as a person

so anyway they let em hang out in their shed growing a Sitrus Berry garden because they're the only ones he has and he wouldn't have a home without them and being kind is good anyway, it's honestly very wholesome

*gets back from eating lunch* *sees 18 messages* *is amazed*

but the rEASON HE HAS NOONE ELSE is because BEE AND HEE THE OTHER TWO BEHEEYEM ARE GANGSTERS NOW because once Dark Matter was done with em and they were out of his grip, they looked at themselves and said "you know what, this is fun!" because they were probably, like, negatively impacted by all of the dude's sheer evil lol so anyway they started a gang and did mean things and eventually Martha started hanging out with em and eventually became the gangster she is today so Ray took the kid 'n left

oh no, I've really gotten ahead of myself haven't I lol, I'm almost done

SO ANYWAY with all of this context what I'm proposing is: even though Dark Matter's kicked the curb, Mr. Nuzleaf, Bee, Hee, Yem, and Yveltal still have their powers. They can still turn people to stone. And Bee and Hee are going to be abusing that power to petrify all the legendaries and lock them away in the Voidlands forever.

Well, not forever, probably - these are legendaries we're talking about, they can most definitely hold off the Void Shadow guards and get through the doorway when an opportunity arises, if they can get out of the VERY MANY Mystery Dungeons down there and find the doorway at all. They probably will, though, if Entei, Raikou, and Suicune can find them - those are the three who were turned to stone in the actual canon plot, and who helped the main character and their partner escape when they were—

*is wondering if someone would ask "bUt wHy cAN't Mr. NUZlEAf, BeE, hEe, YeM, aNd yvELTaL tURn TheM tO StONE FiRST"* but yeah that suddenly seems like a more fun role play to do

—turned to stone after Mr. Nuzleaf's betrayal in the pre-climax. I'd say that probably even if they come back from turning to stone, they'll either go into hiding or be on the front page of every news story yelling about how people need to find and arrest these criminals immediately, then get their house raided by the gang and get turned to stone again.

Aha, but the thing is, Icey, Mr. Nuzleaf and Yem feel very indebted to society because of what they did before. Yem probably wouldn't be able to do it, either, because he looks just like the others and random bounty hunters trying to faint and turn in Bee and Hee would probably think he's one of them and go for him instead. Mr. Nuzleaf also has a woife to be with and a full-grown kiddo to watch grow up, along with getting stuff from town for Yem, lol.

You're right, though, Yveltal probably would be on the hunt to take them down, although honestly he's probably the one they would go for first, considering that he's the only legendary who can really fight back against them (because even casting his new petrification powers aside, he's the bringer of death...).

time for a huge document rewrite >:-)

Alright XD So is it confirmed that the roleplay’s set in the PMD world?

yep :> whichhhh also means I might have to change up a couple of things (such as the map, characters, etc. I was planning to anyways lol)
