Primus Description

This is less of a story and more of a prompt from @crocs-to-a-knife-fight

Primus, Amplifier of Vaynedum, the God of Noise

Warforged Warlock-Bard (Bard-lock? War-Bard? That sounds kinda badass, actually)

(Warhammer 40k Necron toy, which serves as the basis for how Primus looks)

Primus stands at exactly eight feet tall, the standard height for Ty'ronec Warforged. In a previous life, he was a feared general that led brutal campaigns across the realms. Unfortunately, he was stopped by an unknown hero. Once Primus was dead, the rest of the Ty'ronec were persecuted until not a single one was left standing. How Primus managed to escape the same fate remains a mystery, as records from that time were kept hidden by long-defunct magical orders. Any armor or artifacts that Primus once had was stripped from him or otherwise lost over time as he slowly sank into the ground.

He was discovered in an abandoned coal mine by Annalise, the youngest apprentice to the dwarven craftsman Thorgrim. Thinking it was just another Warforged, she brought it back to the workshop to have it restored with the help of her master and her other compatriots. The gods apparently took notice that a Ty'ronec was now back in Faerun, and Vaynedum apparently shoved their way to the front of the line so they could be the first to try and use Primus to further their divine will.

Primus's mission, as given to him by Vaynedum, is to let the people know of his god's existence by playing music and being as loud as humanly possible. Vaynedum is responsible for all noise everywhere, from the birds chirping, the sound of gravel underfoot, the subsonic hum of burning stars, and even the voices of the gods themselves. Primus does this through the use of his magical focus, one of THESE motherfuckers:

Minus the silly face, Primus plays a 24-string guitar tuned as follows:

From the highest string down, E4 B3 G3 D3 A2 E2 B2 F#1 twice over (meaning those eight strings again, going from F#1 back to E4) and then eight bass strings going G2 D2 A1 E1 B1 F#0 C#0 and G#-1. Now you might be thinking "Yamatsu, how in the hell is that even possible? We can't even discern notes once you get down to the zero range!" You would be right. Most humanoids aren't able to distinguish tones that that level, but Primus can. He's also basically plucking a goddamn bridge cable at that point, which means that that string isn't used very often. That string only ever comes in to provide percussive rumble for a song.

Other specs for "The Great Djentlord" as I call it include a whammy bar for the first set of eight strings, three different killswitches for each tier of strings, two three-tiered knobs for the body and bridge pickups, each tier corresponding to a set of strings starting from the top, and twenty-four ivory frets. Also, because I'm cheeky, the actual body of the guitar look like this:

Get it? Cuz it's a Warlock!

As for how Primus plays that massive sonuvabitch, the answer is in his arms. Unlike how the picture portrays Necrons above, Primus's arms are special in that they can split into twenty different appendages. They split at each finger and then cutting each finger in half horizontally, so Primus can play three parts at the same time while also hefting the Great Djentlord around on the battlefield.

The guitar plugs into a cable originating at the base of Primus's spine, and his chest cavity acts as an amplifier. His head has a synthesizer, meaning that he can mimic any electronic sound or voice that he wants. As for his normal voice, think of it as a mix between the grating crunch of a Dalek and Harvey Firestein as Edna Turnblad (those of you who've seen Hairspray know what I'm talking about).

Vaynedum, God of Noise, technically inhabits Primus's chest cavity. This leads to the green glow emanating from his joints, ribcage, and eyes. The blood-red rune on Primus's forehead is a transcription of the name Vaynedum in some forgotten script when mortals could contact Great Old Ones.

There are times where Vaynedum will intercede or otherwise aid Primus in his mission, the most common being his power acting as percussion for Primus's music. Vibrations can be felt by the people around him in a similar way to standing next to a drum line or parade and feeling the noise in the pit of your stomach. Primus notes that those times make him feel the most alive.

Vaynedum has also occasionally lent his voice to Primus, namely for things like Toll the Dead or Thunderwave spells. Whenever spells with a sonic component happen, onlookers can begin to see the extent of Primus's eldritch possession.

(Imagine Primus doing the jaw-pull with the jagged face of Caesar there, but don't ask me how I know about him)
