Chapter 1

There’s a world that seems so distant, yet so close in terms of timeline. Back before the world turned on its head, the young naive girl that danced in the club that night couldn’t have told you tonight would be her last party. The music and twirling lights were all that I concerned myself with. The world still hummed with lights as her eyes caught the sights of a new stud by the bar. His eyes were decisive, and I thought what her future would be like soon. Anyone could tell I was high and drunk, but he didn’t seem to care.

I approached, trying to look sexy, but it came off more clumsy than anything. His perfect lips opened seemingly to say something, but no words escaped him.

“See some-ting you like,” I slurred.

“We should take a walk.” he confidently suggested.

“How for... ward of you,” I replied, trying to seem witty. The man stood and grabbed my hand, leading me to the club exit. It must have been forceful because a woman asked if I knew him, and I gave her a very intense nod and thumbs up. Before returning my attention to the man who was way more muscular than I had originally seen. Once escorted outside, he rushed me into the back seat of a big vehicle.

The smell of fresh leather followed by my vulgar breath began to permeate my brain as I arose from the long backseat. For a moment I sat completely dazed to the blackness around me. The engine rumbled to a start, and still, I sat there barely even blinking.

A sweet aged voice called, "Simon, do you mind turning the lights please?" Had I not been so buzzed, I would have instantly recognized that voice since it did belong to my mother. The lights flickered on revealing my mother and father clutched together staring at me almost terrified. "Darling," she exclaimed, "I didn't think it was this bad."
