“No man knows till he has suffered from the night how sweet and how dear to his heart and eye the morning can be.”

Vampires. Creatures of the night. Blood thirsty monsters. Whether you have heard of such a creature or not, they exist. People do not know about their existence for they have been hidden far far away and kept as secrets by governments. Yet somehow, they have managed to spread out beyond their borders and have made it to places where no one expects them.

You do not expect anything to happen. It's 1998 and you are a senior at Vista Secondary Academy in a small town known as Rochfield, Massachusetts. Life is simply just perfect. You are known and liked by everyone in school. You come from a very wealthy family, have an older brother who is a talented soccer player, and are the captain of the academy's soccer team. Sure you may struggle with a few subjects, but at least you have the quiet kid who practically does the work for you. What can go wrong?

Well, turns out your world can turn upside down in seconds. It's a Saturday evening when you hear a scream coming from your brother's room. When you go to see what's going on, you find your older brother on top of his girlfriend, but you see a pool of red underneath her. Your brother looks at you with long fangs and glowing red eyes. He jumps over the bed and chases after you as you run out of the house. Out of fear, you decide to run to the quiet kid's house.

The quiet kid is well…..Everyone calls him strange. He rarely talks to anyone and when he does, no one can get over two things: A: his Eastern European accent and B: all the weird things he talks about. You remember he once talked of something that feasted on humans so you assumed he would know what to do. Yes, you two do not agree on a lot of things and even fought sometimes, but maybe he will help. What's going to happen once you knock on the quiet kid's door? Guess we'll have to wait and see…..

To summarize, the popular kid witnesses their older brother sucking blood out of/killing his girlfriend. In order to get away, they end up running to the quiet kid's house in hope being saved and finding out what they just saw. The two are enemies (sort of), but through conflict and peace, they end up becoming close. Maybe a bit closer than expected. On the other hand, the two have to face the strange monsters that have made landfall and protect everyone they know from them.

Some side notes: Vampires in this rp do follow the basic lore that everyone knows except there are a few things that should be noted. They really only have to fed at least once every few weeks. They can't go out in sunlight but are fine when it's cloudy or they have an umbrella. Some are really pale while others maintain their normal skin color.

Here's the rules:

  • Before anything else, this is a semi-realistic horror that takes place in the late 90's in a small (made up) town in Massachusetts.
  • That being said, this is a mature rp with things such as violence, gore (blood), and so on.
  • This can be bxg or bxb, it's up to you. (I will be the quiet kid.)
  • Experienced rpers only
  • Three paragraphs per response
  • Try to respond asap if you can. (My response time will be all over the place, but I will do my best to respond asap.)
  • If sexytimes do happen, we will just skip over it.
  • Swearing is fine and don't be OP
  • Ask questions if needed

@knightinadream group

(Yes my character will be a guy. Originally I had the idea of making this rp a bxb, but bxg would also work for it too. I was planning to the let the other rper decide.)

@knightinadream group

(Oh yeah that totally works. I have to rest, but I'll get my character up asap. Also I'm just gonna post the template so you'll have it.)

@knightinadream group

Name: Adrian Dascălu
Gender: Cis male (He/Him)
Sexuality: Closeted Bisexual
Age: 18
Appearance: Adrian is a pretty tall guy, standing roughly about five foot ten. Due to his height and metabolism, he has a lean build. His facial features are sharp. The color of his eyes are a medium brown. He has jet black hair which is long and pushed back. On another note, his skin is oddly pale, but rest assured, he is not a vampire. He also wears glasses because he is nearsighted.
Personality: Due to him being emotionally distance from himself, he comes off as distant and strange to others. Adrian is a typically reserved, and somewhat aloof, kind of person who observes from afar. He is cool-headed even in the worst of situations. While he is a naturally stoic person, he does enjoy being around others. It is hard for him because he isn't naturally attuned to other people's emotions, but he is a good person to confine in. Adrian is a natural helper, usually focusing on others rather than himself.
Background: Adrian was born in the countryside of Romania. Him, his parents, and younger sister lived in a nice house and had a farm, though it made it difficult since their nearest neighbors were twenty minutes away. When he was eight years old, a vampire broke into his home and killed his parents. Adrian managed to escape with his sister then got them to safety. He knows what happened, but everyone told him that such monsters do not exist. Even he questions it, but he knows that it was a vampire.

He ended up getting adopted by a couple from America; his younger sister was adopted by a family who lives in Transylvania. His new parents are very caring and speak Romanian, so he was lucky on that, but the change was very hard for him. It took him awhile to adjust to his new life; it took him till he started high school to get used to it all. He found it easier to be alone and focused on things like his studies. That's all he does really, sit in the background and read a book.
Other: Adrian practically lives alone since his parents always have to travel internationally for work; they're only home every other month for two weeks. And yes, one way to Adrian's heart is giving him classical books.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Name: Felix Christopher

Nickname: Chase (just to make him sound more like a douche)

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual

Age: 18

Appearance: Chase looks like the typical jock - handsome, blonde haired, blue eyed. While he's kind of muscular, it's not so bulky that it makes him look gross. He's built like a soccer player, naturally. 6'2'', athletic, strong, enough on him to make people jealous. He likes to show it off, too, wearing shorts and tight t-shirts. He has a tattoo on his tricep of a wolf - which his mother was not happy about - but which he loves to show off.

Personality: Insecure, but he never shows it. Chase likes to act confident and egotistical. Every time someone insults him, makes him feel bad, he'll act like nothing happened, smirking a them and making them wonder if he has any feelings. While he seems like a player, he has never dated anyone ever… a fact that only his brother knows. He'll flirt with anyone and everything, but it's never anything serious. He hates school, and he can be very manipulative when he wants to be. Doesn't always feel bad for doing things he shouldn't. He's super loyal but never acts like it, and is really brave, once he gets to that point where if I die, oh well. It can usually take a few minutes and a near death experience, though. All bark and almost no bite.

Background: Chase had an abusive dad for the first nine years of his life, a fact no one knows about. His older brother, Caleb, is actually his half brother. When his dad died in a crash, the two boys couldn't be more happy. His mother instantly remarried to their stepdad, Miles, who has been a real dad to them. He was the one who got Chase into soccer in the first place.

Other: Don't call him Felix, or you will die. He is ashamed of his first name, so anyone who calls himself that once knows to never call him that again.

Nine-thirty four. Twenty-one thirty four. Adrian had glanced up at the clock after staring at his books for what felt like an eternity. Papers, notebooks, and books of sorts were all sprawled about the living room. The television was on playing some movie from the seventies, but he could really care less about it. He only used it as background noise to pretend to forget about the fact that he is the only one in the house. Sometimes the trick works, though it never really helped shake off the feeling.

It had been an hour or so since he had walked home from Misses Agnusdei's. The kind old lady acts as his guardian since his parents are always away. Since it is mid November, the sky was practically dark on the way there and was even more dim on the way back. He tend to spend his Saturday evenings with Misses Agnusdei, having dinner with her and then either playing a card game or watching television till it was time to go home. This night, he left earlier than usual just so he can take care of some of his studies.

But he could not focus on a single thing the moment he prepared everything. An unsettling feeling was sinking deep within him. He had felt it before, though he does not recall anything about it. Looking up at the clock, he let out a sigh as he stood up. While he did, his focus gravitated at the cigarette box on the far corner of the table. With a shake of his head, Adrian rubbed his neck then walked around the house.

Nothing is out of place. The young man had looked through the entire house a few times before coming to the conclusion. He even looked out into the backyard and forests. Nothing is wrong. Adrian pushed his glasses back as he sat down in his previous spot then picked up one of his notebooks, looking over his notes. Nothing is wrong.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Chase was running again. The creature behind him chased (haha get it? Sorry) him through the fields, making him push his body harder. A stitch was growing in his side. He was going as fast as he could. The creature came up behind him, wrapped its claws around his throat, and-

He woke up, sputtering, adrenaline racing through him. He sat up, heart beating in his chest, and took deep breaths, trying to calm himself.

He looked around his room, noting the clothes on the floor, the backpack thrown haphazardly onto a chair. He sighed deeply and dropped his feet from the bed. He was still wearing his shoes.

This is why you shouldn't nap after listening to Tammie's horror stories, he told himself, shaking his head. He glanced at his watch and noted with surprise that it was only six in the evening. Well, I guess that means television, then, he thought happily. His parents weren't at home that night, which meant that he and Caleb were alone. Which meant that he could do whatever he wanted.

He stepped out into the hallway. The house was mostly dark, which struck him as strange. Caleb was usually home by now, and the lights should have been on. A feeling of unease grew in him that he tried to shake off.

Just Tammie's stories. That's the only reason I'm feeling this way.

He glanced out the window. His older brother's car was there, which meant that he was home. Maybe he had fallen asleep? Chase made his way to his brother's room. The door was closed. Just outside the door, he heard labored breathing and a girl's low murmur.

Oh. He made a face and turned the knob, about to barge in and announce his presence to his brother, maybe come in on them in some uncomfortable positions.

@knightinadream group

The gut feeling would not shake off of him. No matter how hard he tried to bury his attention with all the notes and textbooks he possibly could, there was just a anxious feeling gnawing at him. Adrian took off his glasses then pinched the bridge of his nose.

A long sigh drew out from his lips. Within a couple of seconds, he put his glasses back on and tried to go back to work. Not long after he picked up some of his notes did he end up throwing them back onto the table. Swears slipped off of his tongue.

Nothing made sense to him. He couldn't think straight no matter how hard he tried. All the words in front of him were jumbled up and made no sense at all. Reaching over, he picked up the television remote and pointed it at the screen.

At the exact moment he did, the man eyes' lit up red on the television screen. What a strange and familiar sight. Springing up almost immediately, his finger pressed on a button, changing the channel to something else. What the hell was that? It wasn't what he thought it was, right?

Quickly, he pressed the button again to go back to the previous channel. Walking towards the television, his eyes stared straight after the screen. No…..It was just a normal movie. Some romantic comedy of sorts.

Adrian shook his head as he threw the remote onto the sofa. He must be tired, that is all. For the past week he has been very busy with school and tutoring, it must gone to his head. Still standing up, he played with the sliver cross necklace that hung around his neck; alas, the weary feeling remained.

@PrettyLittlePyro

The girl's voice grew even louder, and Chase barged open the door, a grin on his face, hoping to catch them in the act. And then he froze, still gripping the doorknob.

The sight that greeted him was most certainly not Caleb screwing his girlfriend. It was much, much worse. Tammie, Caleb's girlfriend of three years, was pinned under him, thrashing weakly. Her hair was pulled to the side, and Caleb was hovered over her, blood around his mouth, dripping down onto the bedsheets, clearly from Tammie's neck. She met Chase's eyes, mouthing the word run before her eyes closed and she slumped back.

The thing that had been Caleb looked up, right at Chase, who took a step back, heart hammering in his ribs. This wasn't Caleb, this was some sort of monster, one with glowing red eyes, bloodstained fangs, and his brother's face. It jumped off the bed, and Chase took off down the halls, glad that he was wearing his shoes for once.

He could hear the monster gaining behind him, and he burst out the front door, tearing into the forest beyond his house. He heard footsteps coming closer and closer, as the stitch built in his side. It was just like his dream.

He turned sharply around a corner and saw a house in the distance. He recognized it instantly as belonging to the weird kid at school, the one who did his homework for him.

What the hell, he thought in a panic, and sprinted toward the house, arriving and banging on the door, shouting to be let in.

@knightinadream group

How Adrian went from reading through a textbook to falling asleep beats him. He never does so while studying at home. Usually he studies more than he sleeps during the night. Perhaps it was the worry billowing within him that exhausted him. Maybe it was stress from homework and projects.

Whatever it was, he found himself waking up with a book underneath his cheek. A sore feeling rose in the middle of his neck as he slowly lifted his head up. He softly cursed to himself while rubbing it. The television was still on, but now it was playing some kind of horror movie. It looked like the main character was being chased from something, but he did not care. He never really cared for horror movies, they were all too predictable for him.

Loading banging from the door came like thunder. It jumpstarted his heart as he shot up. His heart practically leaped out of his chest. He wanted to collect himself, but there was no time. Darting down the hallway, he rushed into the kitchen and pulled out one of the steak knives then dashed over to the door.

With one eye closed, he leaned forward, looking into the peep hole. "Chase?" He whispered to himself. Why is he here? Why is he banging on the door at ten in the evening like a maniac? Why does he have the look of panic on his face?

In the blink of an eye, he opened the door. He tilted his chin up a little to look at the athlete before his eyes fell on the person, or thing, that was in the distance. His pupils widened at the sight of the shining red eyes. Something inside of him frozen his vocal cords as he recognized the sight of sharp fangs.

Without much thought, he grabbed Chase by the wrist and flung him inside. Dropping the knife onto the floor, he shut the door, locked it, then stood up against it. There was a thud at the door.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Chase lay panting on the ground, massaging this throat, breathing hard. While he was used to running a lot for soccer, running for almost two miles at top speed, from some sort of monster that was trying to kill him, didn't help with his stamina. He lay on the ground for a little longer, wincing every time the thing banged against the front door, before he pushed to his feet and helped prop against the door with Adrian.

"Thank you," he said quietly, probably the first time he had said such a thing to the other boy. But hey, he had just been saved from certain death. He was entitled to a little politeness.

"Do you have any idea what that thing is?" He asked, wincing as the creature snarled and threw itself against the front door, the wood creaking ominously. His shoulder tingled with pain and he braced his feet against the floor, shoving with his back.

@knightinadream group

Digging his heels into the floor, he pressed back against the door. Thud…Thud…Thud… In the name of all that is holy, how the hell did one of those bloodthirsty bastards get here? Despite shock, fear, and surprise dashing through his veins, somehow his curiosity was still turning.

There was a gap between his lips. Words simply could not fall out. Hearing the phrase 'thank you' coming from Chase has to be another strange, and maybe even scary, thing that has just occurred. He almost had missed what was being asked to him because his mind was all over place.

All he could really do was bring his left hand up and making it a claw, biting the air. Monster. Well, that is what he is trying to say through sign language. It did not really matter at the moment since the vampire is right at the door; they need to either kill it or get it to leave.

Carefully, he turned around, still pushing his weight against the door then glimpsed over. No, killing is not an option. Wasn't even one to begin with, but there is cross over by the shelf then the holy water on one of the shelves…..

Drive it away. Yes! That is it! Taking off his cross necklace, he did his best putting it on Chase. Swiftly, he took the cross off the wall. He took the bottle of holy water and threw it on the floor close to Chase. What is it that's going on? His heart is beating with fear, but his veins are filled with anticipation.

"They can't come inside without invitation," He panted. Thank God words had finally come back to him. Pressing his side against the door, he looked through. With the cross clutched in his left hand, he held it up for the vampire to see.
