Almost every dream I've had was in third person and, until I started watching videos about lucid dreaming, I thought this was how everyone dreamed. The only dreams I've had that have not been in third person was a dream where I was in my bed and my mom gave me a drawing book and a dream where me and my best friend were watching my dream's messed up version of the first episode of digimon, which was technically still in third person as I was the third person in that case.

Because of this, I have a suspicion that, in almost every dream I've had, I've been almost fully aware but haven't been able to control it because I'm not the one in control. Instead, I'm in spectator mode watching everything go down. This is the case even when I am the main character in the dream.

Anyone know what this is?

I don't know if it has a name, but I dream a lot in third person too! Mostly a lot of my dreams are just random people or characters doing things.

psych major here! :) there’s no specific name for it, but it’s completely normal! i have most of my dreams in third person and so do a lot of other people. they might experience it in different ways (how in control they are with their surroundings while being a “spectator”, how they see things in the first place), but that’s normal
