Interesting idea I had — how do your characters recover from their injuries? Feel free to use specific examples in their stories, and infodump as much as you want.
Some characters are more reluctant in accepting their injuries. Do they go to a hospital, or do they have someone else? Are they their own doctor?

For first example, my character Robi Kabin, along with some character background.
A D type mutant from my universe, Hunters in Chains. At a young age, he was given the Blood of Eorr and trained into becoming a walking weapon, although within his mid twenties began to question and pull away from his organization, beginning to realize that maybe they didn’t have his best interests in mind.
As a mutant, Robi’s pain tolerance is greatly increased, but he can still suffer injuries. His regeneration is also increased, allowing him to survive things that most people can’t (can regenerate missing organs, limbs, etc. it is not instant and takes a lot of energy; most mutants who make these large regenerations also spend a lot of time sleeping during or after the fact)

Robi’s worst injury was getting shot in the head, which likely should have killed him - kn fact it was a near death experience. In his world, mutants possess the ability to ‘lose themselves’ aka become mindless individuals who’s only goal is to hunt and kill, regardless of that person’s status (former ally? you’re food now). A scary fact is that the Blood of Eorr, once injected into the body does slowly begin to degrade one’s mind, some strains (such as the Animalia strain) faster than others. (Hence why most mutants don’t live full lives). Robi became dangerously close to crossing this line of degradation, as enough of his brain had been damaged during this occurrence. Perhaps it was a stroke of luck or plot armour something else, but Robi survived as the virus took control of his body, puppeteering it to a safer location.
From this, it allowed Robi to regenerate in a very long sleep. However, he didn’t fully regenerate - his left eye did not return due to the anti mutant weaponry reaching deeply in that specific spot. Therefore, Robi had to learn to live with only one eye left.
Additionally, these injuries have their cost, also pushing the host even closer to total mind degradation.

Because of his self regeneration abilities, Robi rarely ‘sees anyone’ for his wounds. Having his eye not regenerate was one of the first times he actually had to see someone, and that terrified him more than he’d like to admit. He’s not one to ask for assistance or admit failure (don’t take him as arrogant, though - that aspect is due to his background, being taught he must not fail.)
In summary, Robi recovers better than most people due to biological reasons. He’s very aware of his injuries when acquired, and does pay his own attention to them (but doesn’t really like other people noticing them).

Let me introduce you to a character from one of my books named Ava. Ava is a young woman from a magical kingdom and possesses the power of botanical magic. She has the ability to communicate and control plants, which also means she has a deep understanding of their properties and uses them to her advantage.

When Ava gets injured, she doesn't visit a hospital or seek help from a doctor. Instead, she has a secret garden filled with special plants that she has nurtured over the years. These plants have the power to heal and regenerate, and Ava uses their magic to recover from her injuries.

The process of recovery is quite simple for Ava. All she has to do is lie down next to the plants, close her eyes, and concentrate on her injuries. The plants will then do the rest, enveloping her with their magic and repairing any damage. Ava doesn't experience any pain during this process, instead feeling a warm and comforting sensation as the plants work their magic.

However, this process also has its drawbacks. The more serious the injury, the longer Ava has to stay in the garden to recover. This means she's vulnerable and exposed for longer periods, which could put her in danger. Additionally, using the plants for recovery also drains their energy, so Ava has to be careful not to overuse their magic.

In a short story, I have a character named Sable who is a brilliant inventor and engineer. Sable's unique ability is the power to repair any injury or ailment by using their extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering and robotics.

When Sable is injured, they quickly get to work using their engineering skills to create a device that will help them recover. This could be anything from a simple brace to help support a broken limb, to a complex machine that will help stimulate cell growth and aid in the healing process.

And lastly, I also have Elena. Elena possesses the gift of psychomancy - the ability to manipulate and heal the mind. Elena's healing process is quite unique, as she uses her abilities to delve into the unconscious mind of those she is healing and repair any emotional or mental traumas that may be causing physical symptoms.

Elena is a gifted healer, able to cure ailments that others have deemed incurable. Her method is both magical and scientific, as she uses her psychomancy abilities to access the unconscious mind and find the root cause of a person's suffering. She then uses her powers to repair any broken or blocked neural pathways, freeing the mind and allowing it to heal the body.

Elena's ability to heal is not without risk, however. Her access to a person's unconscious mind can be dangerous if she comes across negative or harmful memories, as she may accidentally amplify them and cause further harm. For this reason, Elena is very careful about who she heals and always takes the time to assess the situation and weigh the risks before using her abilities.

Naomi spent time in various Naval hospitals after the incident that ruined her military career, and spent some time in physical therapy after losing her leg. She's also spent some time in group therapy for her PTSD.

CJ tends to patch himself up unless it's serious (he's a trained paramedic). He's also spent some time in therapy.

Some of the bones in Brandee's hand never quite healed properly. She still has some degree of chronic pain, and two of her fingers are visibly crooked.

Kieron has had his share of sports injuries, and got his side torn up by a summoned creature. He definitely got hospitalized for that latter injury, what with needing things sutured and all.

Talula has access to medical treatment in the Sufficiently Advanced Technology category, as the high-tech prosthetics should make clear.

Buck sleeps his injuries off. When he's heavily injured he literally will spend almost the entire initial bedridden phase fast asleep, because you know what's better than being in pain and uncomfy? Napping. It also keeps him clear of any sappy moments with the team if he was especially heavily injured. In the moment, or if he can't recover safely, he pushes through pain like a beast. As soon as it's safe or he's not needed anymore, he stops everything to avoid making the injury worse, but if it's life or death or he needs to be there for others, he can get himself through a lot.

He also doesn't get injured all that much. That's kind of the point. That's why he's around. He's supposed to be really really good at staying uninjured.

andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) stays in a coffin to "heal" himself where his limbs are stitched back together. They're prone to falling off when they're not sewn to his body tightly or when he fights for too long. He doesn't feel pain or anything since he's a Doll. (After he gets his real heart, his limbs don't fall off again.)

Simon is a speedster, so everything in his body moves scarily fast, including his healing rate! There isn't like an even ratio because Simon's base body always took longer to heal than the average, but shit moves fast. At one point pre-canon, he was in a car accident and got a spinal injury that should've taken around a year to heal, but he was perfectly fine after a couple of months. When he does get injured, he just kinda ignores it until it goes away which is unhealthy, buddy, stop it.
CJ is annoying about injuries and refuses to tell anyone that they are injured until after they've healed. This has stopped working because Dean does the exact same thing, so they call each other out on shit. At least both of them are fantastic at stitching themselves up, and both of them claim that they heal fast, but CJ definitely heals faster than Dean does because Dean works his body harder when he's injured.
Logan tries to hide his injuries but he's comically horrible at it, so sure, he tries to stitch up that bullet wound and ignore the pain, but Simon usually sees the blood leaking out of his shoulder first, so they'll restitch it. He definitely takes it easy for a while because he's terrified of being considered useless, so he'll help wherever he can but he's still careful.
Henry, although we love him dearly, whines about every single injury ever. It does not matter if it is a paper cut or a stab wound, he is begging for bandaids and TLC and kisses to make It better. He does tend to heal fast though, but he will milk that special attention for as long as possible.

This is eerily accurate….

Isa will normally get stabbed in the back every few weeks, (Figuratively, and sometimes literally). Isa tends to then stumble back into the Feywild, and his adoptive fey dad Olate, will lay him down in the hut/infirmary, and he sleeps for a few days. Only takes about a day to heal, the extra few days are just to rest.
