Portia is very set in her ways. She's very intelligent and clever (which are not always the same thing), and has a deep love for learning and books. She's stubborn and determined to a fault, and tends to be a bit elitist about the depth of her knowledge, often being a bit snobby to people she deems less intelligent.
Orphaned at a young age, Portia was taken in by the head librarian of Aurum City, Corinne Gilli. Gilli took Portia under her wing and essentially raised her in the library, training her as her successor. When Gilli was brutally killed in Barker Street Massacre, Portia was made her successor, and vowed to avenge her death.
