Vax has a short temper and high expectations. The only person who can sway his opinion is his wife, Cressida Wenser. He is usually a quite man, keeping his stern opinions to himself-this is an exception for family members.

believes in the old gods and can deal with other people believing in muses. However he thinks its silly and often criticizes Cressida Wenser about her belief.

he was born into the noble house that held control of Careaway by order of the King. As the second born he was expected to get married and be prepared to take over if things should happen. He met Cressida Wenser when he was 22 and the two were together in secrete for a year before she moved into the manor and began to be seen. A year later they were married.
only a year after that his father passed away and on his death bed gave responsibility to Vax instead of the eldest son who had been charged with the murder of a young girl a month prior.
His older brother was convicted and hung two months later.
