Jezariah left the room, breathing hard and his back pressed against the wall before he slid down.
No…. he refused to believe it.
Jacklin….the girl in that picture was his little sister. She had this boyfriend for only a few months and went to live with him. About a year later she went missing along with her douche of a boyfriend.
His body was found about a week later but Jacklins was nowhere to be found.
Jezariah held onto any hope he had left in him that his little sister was still alive.
But the fact that she was an experiment for some hybrid monster?? The fact that it was successful?? Its sent chills throughout his body and the pit in his stomach as hard as stone.
She was turned into one of these things and might be dead now.
He didnt know what the success looked like, as he didnt read more into it, so he would read more about it tonight. But right now he was in shock.
His eyes watering, pulling his knees to his chest, he didnt dare let a tear slip. Not now. He wouldnt cry
Just….stuck in a pool of denial, drowning along with his hope that had been pulled under.
And then she flipped to the next page, EXPERIMENTS it said and down below were pictures of people. Each of them had a name, a family, a spark in their eyes, so filled with life. Well, they were filled with life, if they were alive. FAILED Next to each of their pictures and then her eyes landed on one. A girl, frizzy hair, green eyes, dark skin, Jacklin was her name, She looked so eerily similar to Jez, Sister, Friend, Cousin, Niece, Relative? Options raced through her brain, now realizing why he seemed so upset. "Holy shit," She mumbled under her breath, now unsure whether or not she should follow him or leave him alone to think. Surely, Nina would take care of it, Valerie wasn't the greatest with words.

(They went into the house, Jez tried flirting with Nina, Valerie made fun of him, turns out that he had a journal that was from a science dude, also turns out that he is infected, and his younger sister Jacklin died. He stormed off and Valerie picked up the book and read it. )
(Yeah! Shes assumed dead right now though. Oops!)
(Anyway, Jess found a book i mentioned in the very beginning of the roleplay if you remembered, they read through it (its advised you at least read through that. Its not much) and they found out that you can be turned from a certain Reaper/Or screamer (same thing, different names)
(They haven’t found much about it yet, as they haven’t read through it fully. They found profiles of human experiments and its explained kinda how these things came to be. They were trying to make a half human/beast hybrid and failed. They have a list of profiles that were the experiments and all were failures and died except one. Jacklin, Jezariahs lil sis. There’s a possibility that shes still alive but shes a halfie. I plan on them finding her a bit later in the roleplay when they get closer to finding the actual labs. Jess isn’t infected, as his wound wasnt from the corrrect type of screamer. If that makes sense. Anyway, Jess is pouting in the other room rn due to the newly learned facts n such)

Caelen heard the conversations and swiftly followed the other male into the room and leaned against the door frame. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Caelen didn't need Jess to answer the question, he knew exactly how he was feeling, but you need to start somewhere if you're planning on having a conversation
Jezariah jumped and turned back to the man, not expecting someone to come over to him.
Not being able to see through the tears in his eyes before he blinked them away, his dark eyelashes wet from the tears.
"Oh uh, yeah" he says clearing his throat and regaining his confidence, though the transparency was obvious.
"Of course. Why wouldnt I be?" He stuffed his hands in his pockets. He obviously wasnt going to show a lot of deep feelings with another guy this far into n m knowing him. What two hours?
Caelen rolled his eyes and walked in the room. "Dont lie to me. I know what you're feeling, I felt the same way when I lost the two people I loved the most." He sighed and looked at him with a sad look in his eye. "I'll ask you again, how are you feeling? If you dont want to talk, that's fine. But it's much better to talk about it than keep everything under a mask because you'll turn out like me."
Jess looked back up to him, his posture stiff and his voice rather hoarse "I'm feeling like shit okay?" He says looking away "that's my little sister on that paper. Obviously I'm just a little pissed off." He trailed off, looking at the ground, blinking thin tears away so they didnt fall down his dark cheeks
"She was used as an experiment….turned into one of these things and she could be locked up for all I know!" His voice cracked when he said those words.

Nina looked up in surprise when Jess left, then froze when Valerie ordered her to follow him. She looked down at the book in Valerie's hands, understanding tat he must have read something really bad in there. She didn't want him to be alone if he was upset. But as she was about to stand up, Caelen beat her to it, an she was left hovering uncertainly again in the middle of the room. Figuring that Caelen could probably handle Jess n his own for the moment, she glanced back at Valerie. "What is that book? What does it say?"
(oof, I just realized that Adrien is just standing there awkwardly, I'll post something for him soon)
( Bruh, I just realized that I never introduced Valerie, so while everyone knows each other's names, Valerie is just "the girl" I don't know why I find it so funny, lol.)
She pondered for a moment, carefully choosing her words. Jez's secret wasn't hers to tell, he would tell it on his own time. "It's a journal that contains information about the Scream- I mean the "Reapers". It's from some scientist dude I guess. I think you'll want to check on Jez after, the saliva can infect, and you, I think you will find this useful." She answered before flipping open the book again and ripping the page that contained Jacklin's picture and stuffing it in her pocket before giving THE BOOK to Nena, Ni Ni? She had such a horrible memory that she had literally forgotten everyone's names. It was a miracle that she managed to pass high school with A's and B's, never the less even passing in the first place. For now, Valerie had designated her own little nicknames for each of them until she could finally remember. There was Q-tip, Miss America, Cthulu, and Mr. HeeHaw, however, that name was only temporary, she was going to have to find a better one.

Nina accepted the book and studied the writing and diagrams in confusion. Then her eyes widened as the realization dawned on her. "Oh no…..so Jess could be infected now….." She lowered the book and glanced in the direction he'd run off to. "You're right, this could be very important. I'll check on him if he and Caelen don't come back soon."

Adrien tapped Valerie gently on the shoulder, "Could I have that for a quick second, please?" They needed to look at this stuff, maybe they could figure something out. Or just learn something about the monsters, "And is, Jez alright? He seemed pretty spooked."
(I have no idea who Adrien would be out of those nicknames.)
Nina heard Adrien's question and offered him the book. "Here, maybe you can make some more sense out of it. It talks about "reapers"–I don't know if those are the same as screamers, or different somehow….but either way, Jess could be infected right now, and we don't know what that means for him."
"Alright." They took the book from her hands and opened up the journal, "She looks familiar, I think I've seen here before." They looked through the book quietly flipping through the pages, "I'll need to analyze these documents."
((If by "she" Adrien means Jess's sister, Valerie tore out the page with her picture just in case Jess didn't want anyone else to know))
"Let us know what you find out," Nina replied fretfully. "What do we do if Jess…..turns into a screamer or something? Do you think we should….I don't know, isolate him somewhere until we know one way or another?"

"Hhm, we probably should. That's our best option, I really don't want anyone else to get hurt. I could probably study him to help. I hope you and hm won't mind."

(in the journal it reads that certain types of screamers will turn you either into a full ravaging Screamer or a hybrid. (Or you can just die if not treated) They'll read about the different types and then find out theres no way Jess will be infected. I plan on later, them finding Jess's sister in the labs and they help her escape. Shes a successful hybrid meaning shes not a danger to those the doesn't want to be and will be able to fight off screamers with their own medicine basically. If that makes sense. So shes like half Screamer half not. Shell basically be able to shift but not quite. I'll explain it more when she's introduced)

She sighed, relieved that Whip N Ne Ne took the attention off of her so that she wouldn't have to talk to them. She had given up on the nickname Miss America, Ne Ne was at least similar to her name…well she thought. The situation was strange honestly, it had only been a few hours ago since they had all met each other and now they were all standing in a room, worrying about what was going to happen next. Her thoughts still lingered on the realization she had made moments ago.

She cautiously walked off to see where he'd gone, following the sound of low voices. When she found Jess, she was surprised to see tears on his face. He must have been really scared about the infection. "Jess?" she said quietly, stepping closer. "Hey, are you okay?….."

"But there is a chance she is fine, perfectly alright and waiting for you to come get her." He responded, coming closer and putting an arm around his shoulders.
