Valerie popped open the remainder of her food supply and passed out some rice and canned Spaghetti "o"s. "Alright, well since we're all here, we might as well rest up for tomorrow." She said before turning her attention onto the situation before her.
"Alright, lady, it seems like you either A. know a lot about medicine or B. are just really meticulous. So why don't we just disinfect the wound with the alcohol and wrap it up with the bandages." She commented. It had been so long since she had any human interaction that just this exchange of words was exhausting her. After being paranoid and alone for so long, she had finally begun to relax.

(I dont think anyone went inside though lmao)

"Caelen, my friends used to call me Cae but the Screamers got to them." He said nonchalantly. Caelen stood up and walked to the window. "I would rather not be out in the open when the Screamers get here, y'all coming inside?" He called, leaning against it.

Nina glanced up when Valerie addressed her. "Oh, yeah, I was studying to become a nurse before….you know….everything happened. I'm no expert, but I learned the basics." She knew this was pretty much her only valuable skill, and hoped it would be enough to get her a place in this group. So far, everyone seemed nice. "It's nice to meet you, Jezeriah," she added, then glanced at the other two. "I don't think I caught your names yet? Again, I'm Nina."

(Okay, I'll somehow figure out how to bring Adrien over)

Adrien waited for a response, then receiving none cautiously stepped closer to the figure, 'I'm probably an idiot for doing this,' they thought to themself, 'But I can't be the only one left.' When they were about a few feet away, they finally realized their mistake, a loud scream was heard that made Adrien tremble with fear. The humanoid figure began to make their way towards Adrien, and well, Adrien not wanting to stay around for too long took off running in the opposite direction. Sadly, the screamer decided to do the same thing and chase them. Trying not to hyperventilate -but failing badly- they reached for their gun and tried to steady their hand to point that aim and shoot, but it was no use, there was no way that they would be able to hit that thing. Soon, they lost stamina, and their legs began to give out, 'Great just great.' They thought to themself, 'I am going to die at the hands of some Screamer.' As the creature came closer Adrien was able to get a better look, the thing was terrifying, nasty, and just plain hideous. 'WHY IN THE WORLD DID I THINK THAT THAT WAS A HUMAN!' If the time had been more opportune and safe, they would have been taking notes on the creature or studying it, but now probably wasn't the best time. As the thing made its way towards them, Adrian was praying that somehow they would get out of this alive.

The sound of Screams immediately filled the air once the night had gone pitch black.
"Hey guys, just a suggestion, but why don't we go in this very nice base I made so that we don't get eaten by Screamers. hm?" She said a bit anxious as her eyes were darting around, trying to spot if there was any possible threat nearby, once again tightly holding on to her bat. Valerie made her way in once again into her little attic space and went and sat in her little corner that had her backpack and some belongings.

Caelen heard the piercing sound and immediately included his crossbow from his back. "I can spot the screamer using the scope on this, but the rest of you should go inside unless you have weapons you can use at a distance." He said in a straight voice, peering through the small scope. There wasnt much light out and many of the streetlamps had been taken out by the creatures so it would get increasingly harder to see.

Nina nodded and was about to head into the attic when she heard a shout from somewhere out in the streets. "Did you hear that?" she asked Caelen, pausing. "That sounded almost human."

"Which direction did the voice come from, we can find the person if we can figure that out." He said, looking up and down streets, spotting a few smaller Screamers buts nothing that looked like it made that loud a sound.

(By the way, you can immobilize screamers with guns and stun them for a few minutes, but the only way to make sure it doesn't regenerate is to chop its head off, severing the thinker strings lol)

Jezariah shot up from where he was and went right back up to the roof, looking for the human.
Hes come across some screamers that have mimicked human voices, only about two in all of the three years hes been doing this.
Saying things like "help" in their dreary voices, trying to lure in the humans. And it worked for him the first time, but the second time he knew what to do. That was about two years ago.
His mind flashed back to the rainy scene in the middle of the woods. Screamers are almost completely immobilized in the rain. He assumed it worked just like how an almost healed broken bone hurt in the rain.
His blood once again pounding in his ears as he ran through the trees before it started raining and he had thought he lost the screamer.
But no, he turned around and it was frozen in its tracks, its dusty bones creaking like metal before it sounded a groan. He assumed it was trying to scream. He took that opportunity and cut its head off and quickly got the hell outta there.
He shook himself out of his thoughts and memories before turning down to everyone below. "How long have you guys been here? You're JUST finding out there are more people???" He asks before going up again and looking for whoever was out there. But it was too hard with how dark it was getting

"Honestly, that surprises me too, how is it we never bumped into each other, it's not like this place is huge." Caelen said gruffly. He hadn't spotted the person yet but heard the sounds of other Screamers, who had been alerted by that loud one, shuffling towards a certain direction. "If there is a person, she is going to be in trouble, there are about 6 other Screamers I picked up heading in one direction. Could it be towards them?"

"Most likely. I've never seen them gathered together heading in one direction for any other reason than a human." He says with a shrug before gasping and pointing to a figure running for their life. "HEY OVER HERE!!! HEY!!" He says waving his arms around. Hopefully the beasts attention was solely on them instead so it didnt come after him. Though to his mistake, one stopped and slowly came over to him. Crap, they were going to have to fight. At least two of them to take this thing down.
"Uh…..any if you know how to fight? We've got one coming towards us. But luckily if it heard me then whoever's being chased did too.

"I had to learn. I also have my crossbow and sword so I'm fine. You?" Caelen asked, hooking the crossbow on his back and taking out his sword.

Nina glanced at Jezeriah worriedly. "Jess, you're injured. I don't think you should go out there and fight right now." She wished there was more she could personally do to help, but she had almost no ability in combat and could only sit by helplessly for the moment.

Adrien looked up when they heard someone screaming at them, the screamer moved back and towards the new voices. It hissed at Adrien as they scrambled back, pulling their bag with them, 'Oh my gosh. . .my god oh my god. . .' They shuddered as the screamer began to move after them. They pulled themself up onto their feet and began to run towards the voices. There was a fire escape above them and the jumped grabbing for the ladder, somehow their adrenaline kicked in and they were able to pull themself up to the first staircase, then they began to speed up. They were really hoping the screamer wouldn't follow them, but of course, it wanting to have something to eat chased after him, climbing up the fire escape in their own way and screaming at Adrien when they got close enough. Finally, Adrian made it to the top and ran towards the people, "I thought I was the only one." They said breathlessly, but before they could continue the screamer's head appeared near the top of the escape, "Oh shiet. . ." Adrien mumbled under their breath. Pulling out their gun, they tried to aim it at the Screamer and fired a few shots at it.

Jezariah looked down at the two with a sigh "I'm fine. It's not like it's broken. It's just a flesh wound." He says hopping back out only to see the person pulling themselves up. "Well yeah we did too" he chuckled before looking down at Caelen
"Well let's go" he says before climbing down the ladder and readying his two daggers

"Oh, you have to be fucking kidding me," Valerie grumbled under her breath as she went outside to see a man running towards them with Screamers tailing behind him. Once he had made it towards them and fired a few shots, by the way, they all missed, she went and shoved him aside before proceeding to bash one of the Screamers that had made it onto the top of the ladder with her baseball bat before kicking it down the ladder.

Caelen hopped off the ladder only to see a screamer fall right beside him. Forst thing he did was decapitate it, throwing the head as far as he could throw. He wiped his brow with the back of his hand and looked at Jezariah with a angry glint in his eye. "Theres more where they came from. We can do the stupid thing and split up, or we can defend the rest of them by staying here and blocking the ladder." He grunted

She made her way down the ladder before speaking, "Those gunshots were loud, so yeah a lot of them are going to be coming. We should stay and defend, we can set up some traps, and since you have a crossbow, you can snipe them on the roof, actually, you the guy with the gun, can I have that?" She requested reaching out her hand for the gun.

Nina watched with growing nervousness, then did the only thing she could do and descended into the attic. After checking to make sure all the other entrances were secure, she efficiently started setting up a space where she could treat injuries as they happened. She laid out her bedroll and some spare blankets, hung her headlamp from a rafter for some extra light, and took stock of all the medical supplies so she knew what she had on hand. She wanted to heat up some water for cleaning and sterilizing things, but figured she'd wait for Valerie's permission before she borrowed any water or cooking gear.

"I could, but I havent found any darts and I only have 10. If need be, I'll go up there. For now, I'm better on the ground." He said, walking a couple feet away from the rest of the group, the moonlight glinting off his sword.

He was lucky he got a small one that climbed up the ladder. The larger ones put up.more of a fight. Only two more bigger ones, about the size of a small house and three more the size of dogs. They could kill the smaller ones with a little bit of trouble for sure, but they stood no chance against two of those things that size.
Why the smaller ones were this active at night, he didnt know but he was pretty sure they would stop moving soon.

"They'll just keep coming. We could be doing this all night. The bigger ones are slower, but it's only a matter of time before they reach this place. And they'll crush it while we're defending it. I say we run. the barn I was talking about isnt too far away"
