It's because they romanticize mental illness like nobodies business. Someone actually copied a character from the show's suicide note and even though people told the creators that this would happen, they did it anyway.

I am literally gone for 5 hours, and 5 pages come up, and now we are talking about depression. I feel great, this just adds more sadness, and more stress to my life… EOC, and finals are killing me… Elias is trying to help, and succeeding a little bit, but I'm still stressed out to the max…

everyone please just stop, we aren't supposed to go down this road. this is a road to tears and depression and none of us wish to walk this path again, but even though we walked this path only once before, we are stronger than this… please let us walk a different path. let this one become over grown and filled with thick grass until it is the same as the ground around it.
