Me encanta.

Ademas cuando está todo mojado… Uff, perfecto.

One day Silenus, the oldest of the satyrs who was now very weak, became lost in the vineyards of King Midas. Someone found him wandering helplessly about, barely able to walk, and brought him to the king. Long ago, Silenus had acted as nurse and teacher to the little wine-god, Bacchus. Now that Silenus had grown old, Bacchus, in turn, took care of him. So King Midas sent the man who found him to carry the satyr safely to Bacchus.

“Have you eaten at all?”
The words fall on deaf ears and I work on pulling the braid out of my hair almost absentmindedly, willing myself to ignore his voice. I love him but I hate it when he calls.
I love him, but.
A distance of about three days by light rail separates us. Sometimes I think that’s for the best. I want him, more than anything, to shut up. I want everyone and everything to stop and to leave me alone and to clean this damn house while they’re at it.
“Indy, you need to eat,” I hear him venture, though it sounds more like a question. Proverbial perpetuity, or something along those lines. He doesn’t know how to handle me. I don’t blame him.
A silence, thick in the air, fluttering about with the dust and quiet. He tries again. “Do you need groceries? I can have Gemini drive to the store for you. She mentioned she wanted to come visit you soon, anyway. Take a break from classes and all that.”
“Ezra, I’m okay.”

This is spoiler tagged because it is a picture of my twisted ankle, and it looks a bit gross.

Assignment Title: Environment

Project Title: Interaction of Humans and Nature

What is the project about/What you/your peer attempting to communicate?

My project is about the interactions and intersections between nature and humanity – the places where man-made structures collide with naturally organic ones, the places where humans have taken over nature's spaces, or the places where nature still manages to survive in a predominantly concrete landscape. Through this project, I would like to communicate the perseverance and beauty of nature, and highlight its ability to thrive even when humans put obstacles in its way. I would also like the viewer to ask themself questions about their own interactions between man and nature. Do we do enough to protect nature, to help it, or is our main interaction with it to hinder its growth for our own gain?

What area of your photography would you like to improve within this project?

I would like to improve my landscape photography as I am more used to photographing smaller subjects (although I will still be utilising this technique in my project). Also, I would like to consciously use more compositional techniques, such as rule of thirds and leading lines, in order to improve the layout of my images. Finally, I would like to learn and apply more camera techniques and learn to use my digital camera more effectively to improve the quality of my photos.

What do you plan to photograph within this project? (Please be specific)

In this project, I plan to photograph areas where the influence of both man and nature is evident. For example, discarded farm machinery, overgrown and abandoned locations, or fences and walls choked with weeds and plants. I will take some photos at a more macro level (e.g., a close-up of ivy growing over brick), and some with a broader sense of the theme (for example, a landscape where man-made structures like houses and pylons are visible).

From the research that you/your peer will/have conducted, which photographer (and project) has, or will inspire and influence you/your peer the most?

Which location(s) will be used in the production of you/your peers work?

I plan to use some ordinary locations such as streets and farmland right near my house, but possibly include some locations further afield like Brockholes and Fountains Abbey.

How do you/your peer plan to edit, develop and refine the work that you/your peer produce over the course of this assignment?

I plan to use Adobe Photoshop to adjust my images, using effects like contrast and vibrance to enhance the colours and lighting.

What is the proposed output(s) of the project? Please detail:
