The pair were still arguing as they exited the elevator in the lobby, Aggy wanting to come with for 'moral support', and Nevaeh insisting that he couldn't. She came to a halt at the sight of the concierge punching his boss, blinking a few time and frowning slightly, though she almost looked amused. "Hey, Ag."
"Yeah?"
"That isn't normal, is it?" The Nephilim asked, adjusting her dress slightly as she glanced around the lobby, eyes landing on Namrys as something almost like understanding flickered through her.
Namys was far too entertained watching the display of anger being released to notice Nevaeh and the demon. He watched as security pulled the two men apart.
Well, that was fun while it lasted.
"You know, that is quite conspicuous, that grin of yours." Nevaeh said, voice near Namys' ear as she came up behind him. She was judging his reaction to being snuck up on, yes, but she was also just…like that. She moved quietly. Silently, in fact.
Namys quickly turned around to face her, his smirk falling away just as fast.
"Oh, its you," he says, giving her another scan. "The dress is nice!"
"Thanks." Nevaeh said, straightening back up and placing her hands on her hips. "I'm going information gathering. You have decent reflexes, I'll give you. What are you up to right now?"
"You're welcome," he smiles, revealing his dimples. He stands up from his chair, and stretches. "I was just people watching. It helps when I have jobs where a human is behind things…. You look like you're ready for a date more than information gathering."
"Clubbing, actually. I am gathering information at a club." She said, shrugging a shoulder as she crossed her arms under her chest. "People watching is useful, but I've found it's more…boring. At least for me. I have a tendency to be unable to stay still, though."
He nods as a response.
"I'm not really one for really large groups of people, but I could probably go with you…. What kind of info would you get about the hotel by clubbing?"
It's not about the hotel. "You would be surprised what you can find out from locals." She said, turning to catch Aggy's eye from where he was flirting with a woman in a staff uniform. "You don't have to go with me though. I usually do these things alone. They've only gone wrong once."
"No, I know exactly how much one can learn in our line of work from the locals," he says, crossing his arms.
With my powers it would be a bad idea to be in a crowded room. "I have some research to do anyway."
"Probably for the best. When did you eat last." She waved to Aggy, getting his attention enough to motion him over. "Because we're heading to the diner across the street first, and then splitting. We're going to meet back up there to share what we've gathered. You should come eat with us, lay a base for what needs found out, and what is already known."
"Hmmm. I guess I should get something to eat; I haven't had anything since Nevada." That must be her pet demon. "Yeah, that is a good idea," he shrugs.
"Good. Then come on. Aggy, I get interrogating staff, but do you really have to flirt with them?" She asked her friend as he made his way over, arching an eyebrow at him.
"Conversation is fine and dandy, but flirting is so much fun." The demon purred, resting an elbow on her head like an arm rest, and earning an elbow to the gut in return. "Care to introduce me to your friend, Neve?"
"Namys," he answers. He looks at Nevaeh, giving her a curious look. My my, there's a lot of pent up rage in her. I can sense it simmering deep within. He gives a small smile, and leads the way to the exit where he holds the door open for the two.
"Nice to meet ya, handsome." It seemed a purr was the way his voice liked to stay. Not too horrible a thing, honestly. "Call me Aggy." He linked arms with Nevaeh, something she seemed fine with, practically sauntering as he dragged her along to follow Namys.
The Nephilim just let him drag her, uncaring as she nodded in thanks to Namys for holding the door. He was right about the rage. It was always there, simmering just under the surface, and not much was needed to pull it up. The best she could do was try and wait until she could let it out without repercussion, on something that deserved it. "I am so craving overly greasy french fries right now."
He nods back, and prepares to cross the street. He had just about started to cross when he got a strong reading of anger. Looking to the left he sees that a motorist had just cut another one off. He throws an arm out to stop people behind him from crossing. Without even meaning to do so he influences the cut-off driver, who decides to ram the other motorist, causing an accident.
(I made some changes to Namys' info…. I'm getting rather sleepy, so I'm calling it a night…. Goodnight!)
"Abbadon's testicles-" For someone with such a nice accent, Nevaeh sure swore like a sailor. She didn't stop to think, dropping her bag on the sidewalk as she ducked under Namys' arm, racing towards the accident at a speed just a bit too quick for a normal person. She knew how bad car accidents could be. She had caused a few herself, and even had a nasty scar from a burning piece of metal, from one of those accidents.
Aggy, however, didn't move from where he stood. Instead, he turned his gaze to Namys, studying him with an incredibly sharp look as his friend pulled people from the wreckage, out of range of any possible explosions. "You did that." He stated, not quite accusatorily, but more stating a fact.
(Motorist can also mean anyone in a vehicle; i.e., car, van, truck…. Which is what these people were in.)
Ignoring the demon, Namys runs over to the accident that he inadvertently caused. He tries to pull the door open to get to the driver, but finds it to be wedged shut from the damage.
"Dad's sweaty asshole!" he says under his breath, and pulls at the door a little harder.
Failing, he climbs up onto the hood, and puts his feet on the fracturing windshield. Pushing, straining, veins showing in his neck, Namys kicks furiously until the glass falls inward. He reaches in, unbuckles the unconscious driver, and manages to pull them free.
Fucking dumbasses getting angry!
((My writing is kinda going downhill tonight, I think it's got something to do with my exhaustion, but have….ver bad response))
Nevaeh didn't even look at Namys as he ran over, her attention focused solely on the man she was cutting out of a twisted and caught seatbelt. Lifting him out with more strength than her tiny body should have had, she maneuvered him into a fireman's carry, moving him over to the side of the street to be tended to. A wail pierced the air then, not a siren but a child's cry.
"Fuck." Her head whipped around, spotting the car the noise came from, and again she was off, at that too-quick speed. It took some work, leaving her with burns on her hands that hissed with pain whenever she touched anything, but finally the child wasn't trapped in anymore. She murmured soothingly to the crying kid, as she climbed into the car to try and retrieve him without hurting him. Something felt rushed, though, like she should be moving faster, to avoid something.
She was right, it turned out. Because right then the engine exploded.
(Not sure what to do now…. I'm assuming that Nevaeh is alright.)
