I adore fanfictions. I read a lot and they are always so enticing. It allows me to get more of that thrill I loved from watching the show, the movie, or reading the original book. However, I think people have a problem staying in character. I get that they have their own visions for the characters and where they are going in the story, but I've read so many fanfics that go so far off the line of the character that you can't even see the line anymore. I've read fanfics where the cold-hearted characters all of a sudden are the nicest characters, or the stereotypical jock is now the stereotypical nerd. There is a fine line between sharing a new perspective or bringing a fun twist and going out of character. It's something I think people just don't understand how to do, to keep in character while still having that flexibility of perspective and twist.

I also just wish there were more asexual/demisexual/etc. friendly fanfics. They seem to all get extremely sexual and not everyone is comfortable with that, including me.

I enjoy Crossover Fanfics. Seeing a mix of characters you like just existing with each other just gives me warm fuzzes, even if the story there in is wanting to tear them apart. cough death games cough
