hello, i need some help coming up with a secret superpower that the evil king is using to stay in power. something that isn't obvious from an outside view, maybe something manipulative? It can't be reading minds, bc that's already taken. any suggestions are welcome bc my brain is smoking
Something manipulative, subtle, and useful for staying in power… Here's what I can think of:
"suggestion"
Everything the user says just seems right. When the user asks or orders something, it appears to be a good idea and people want to do what they say. Sometimes if a suggestion goes strongly against someone's ideals or morals, it takes a bit more power to win them over.
Idk how well it would fit into your magic system, but hopefully it helps brainstorm ^_^
@Katastrophic uuh that sounds intriguing! Definitely something that can be dangerous.
My magic system kinda works like a coin with two sides, or opposites… for example, if you have the power of sight, you also have the power of blindness. (so you either can make someone be able to look really far and sharp or you can take their sight completely)
That's super cool! so using the same idea, instead of just people being inclined to believe the user's words, the user could make them either believe or disbelieve? That could be good for instilling distrust or paranoia.
regardless of what u do for the king's power, your magic system sounds very interesting!

This is definitely inspiring me! He could have the power to make someone believe him or someone else but could also make you doubt yourself or others. Belief and doubt. That could work really well for him I think! Thank you for taking time to reply! <3
