What genre is your story? Think about how the area's climate/ecosystem could affect your character's mood, health, clothing, and social interactions. For example, if the weather is relatively cold all year round, your MC will dress accordingly and, depending on how well your character has adapted to their new/old location, your MC probably be emotionally affected by their surroundings. If your character loves their hometown, they might be (overall) happy and content with their lives and decisions if they're of age. If they were forced into their new home by parents, etc. and they're unhappy there, then think about where your character would struggle to most. Another thing to think about is whether your character's hometown would accept them. Like if your MC belongs to a minority group, think about/research which states are supportive and which are not. How would their support affect your character's well-being? I don't know if this helped or not, but I tried.
