Alex looked up at the comment and smirked. He pretended he didn't hear it and went on with the conversation. "What a wonderful spread this is. Make sure to send my compliments to the chef." His wrists were resting against the edge of the table as he admired the food before picking up the utensils to eat his breakfast. "So what's the plan, today boss. Don't say anything because you know if you let the transactions happen instead of doing something about it, then you're screwed as well as your father. Remind me of the problem again?“ He chews quietly and slowly. His back was straight against the back of the chair, and his table manners were absolutely perfect. He made sure to make eye contact a few times to let Niklas know he was Still engaged in the conversation.
Niklas tapped his fingers on the table, smiling gently at the quip. "I will." He said calmly, before following suit and starting to indulge in the breakfast. He listened to Alex with his full attention, nodding slightly as he went on. He decided to sit back, setting down his fork as he folded his arms again. "Well, the plan today is to figure out the problem, yes? We need more deals, more shipments, more everything in order to meet quota. Or else, we might be caught in a bit of a loss." He sighed, shifting slightly in his seat before speaking again. "We lost a few… providers. They haven't been keeping up with security as well as they should. So, we either need to beat the remaining ones into upping their production, or find new ones…" He said with slight distaste, resuming his actions in slicing up a syrniki with a silver knife.
"I say we make an example out of them. This is how I see it. Right now your providers are no longer providing. To find new ones and then show them what would happen if they did stop providing. I know it sounds cruel, but you have to do what you have to do. Teach them a lesson. Of course, if you're going to the more passive route hurt them from the inside." If he were being honest he didn't mind killing people in fact he found it quite fun. He wouldn't tell Niklas that. Now after what he said yesterday. "What I'm saying is if you beat the ones you have now into supplying more they might not do it and for the new ones you have to show them just how serious you are." Alex continued to eat, making sure to finish the mouthful of food before speaking. "This is really good. I can't believe you have people who make food taste so good."
Niklas contemplated Alex's words, the sheer harshness of it dumbfounding even him, the son of a notorious crime boss. He… he sees that I am evil. And to be able to get on my side he must become as cruel… oh god…
Niklas nodded along, a look of worry in his eyes as he imagined all the things Alex could do. Oh god, all the things he could do. It made his blood churn. He never wanted to distribute misery, but it seemed that Alex's proposal was the only way he could save his dying industry. The kingdom he created in the hellish shadow his father casted upon him.
Niklas finished his share, flashing a faint smile as he wiped his mouth delicately with one of the ornate napkins, the prize of devious earnings. "Yes, neither can I." He mumbled, before clearing his throat and standing. "Well, shall we begin to move your belongings here?"
(Hey! Sorry for the sudden disappearance! If you want to continue this I'd be more than happy to :)
(yeah, I would love to! No worries about the disappearance. It happens sometimes)
"We shall." He stood up from the table after whipping his mouth with a napkin. "Will you follow me in a separate car, or are we going together?" He folded the napkin neatly on the table and pushed in his chair. "I don't care for either, so your choice." Alex fixed his hair and fluffed it a bit, and waited. He only hoped Niklas didn't think he was cold and ruthless when he spoke his honest opinion. Honestly, he needed to toughen up a bit. This was the best way he could do it. He could also use it against him. The boss of high-end trade, soft and a pacifist?! Sounds like a good headline to me. He'll go down in flames with other traders on his ass threatening him. I can imagine it now.
Niklas cleared his head of those thoughts, sighing gently while he turned his attention back to Alex. The deceiving Alex who was going to tear him apart.
"I suppose we could go together, it would draw less suspicions." He answered, resuming his cavalier demeanor while he cleared his throat. "Besides, I would love to spend more time with you, partner." He sneered, then adjusted his jacket and started out the door. "Come now, don't be late."
"Yes, yes, I know, I'm coming. He didn't have a jacket, but it's not like Alex needed one. It was warm enough outside anyway. "So we're partners now?" He pushed open the door and started walking towards his car. "I thought I was just the numbers guy." Alex clicked the key to the car, and the lights blinked, showing it was unlocked. He opened the door to the driver's seat and got in. He started the car and waited for Niklas to join him. Alex was deciding whether to drive like an average person or drive as he would usually drive. He liked the second option better. "Are you just going to stand there or are you getting in boss?"
