The realm of Celestal, creatures such as mermaids and dragons exist. Celestal is the Realm of Magic, whereas Earth is the Realm of Modern. Earth and Celestal live side by side. Moderners are unaware of Celestal, however Magi are well aware of Earth. Sometimes, Moderners stumble upon Celestal, and bring what they have seen back into —, where their tales are passed off as simple fantasies. This helps Celestal remind hidden.
Now, in Celestal, good and evil is balanced (although good is on top) and true love is very much real. Celestal has been rules by the same family for over 17 centuries. While their names have changed the original name remains the same - Roni. Over time, it has returned to that name, but recently changed 3 years ago when the eldest Princess became Queen and married to her True Love.
Now, as long as a Roni remains in rule, the land of Celestal. When the Prince of the leading evil kingdom manages to overthrow the Queen, rifts begin to appear. Moderners can suddenly see into the world of Celestal, and can pass through to it. So the Queen and King of Celestal, though kicked out of their home, must venture to the palace and save the whole of Celestal. Especially with the Queen's younger sister being held captive by the Prince of Evil.

Background: Gwen was always the little sister, but she was never left out. As kids, Gwen and Raven would explore all of Celestal. It was the two of them against the world. True Love's no longer get existed and neither did the looming prospect of Raven becoming Queen after their parents recent deaths. And then Raven met Liam. Her True Love. And Gwen became pushed to the shadows. But she still loved her sister, and now her new brother (-in-law).
The one thing Gwen hates is that the only way Ethan can really become King is if he murders Raven and Liam, and then marries Gwen. Then she would really have no choice. Once you've met you're True Love, you have to stay with them.
Powers: While Gwen is powerful in the retrospect of powers, she's never felt the need to use them. She is able to control the whole spectrum of Elementis and it's equals (such as water and ice, fire and obsidian)
