The air was cool over the mountains tonight, the trees waving lazily in the slight breeze. The uncivilized frontier beyond the settled colonies hid many things that wanted to stay hidden.
The mountains would eventually become known as the Green Mountains, but now, they were just the Mountains. The land would eventually be called Vermont, but now, in 1692, it was just a collection of sparse farms and villages. An unlikely place to find adventure, unless you knew where to look.
To the south, the Salem Witch Trials were in full swing, women accused of strange things being hunted down like animals, tried with no hope of acquittal, and savagely executed. To the history books, it was a brutal blot on these early days.
To Valiel, it was feeding time.
Asra was sitting in the spare room, his chores done, and his master out. Asra was a smaller human, his body was lean with muscle but it'd never shown with him wearing long sleeves most times
Valiel came through the door, moving like a force of nature. 5'10, tall for a girl, pale white skin, bright auburn hair, and features so sharp you could cut yourself on them, she was not the kind of person you got in the way of on purpose. The icy blue eyes and piercing gaze completed the murder look, which was spot on for the vampiric Skin-changer.
She moved through the cabin, checking the various rooms and chores Asra had been assigned, and noted they were all done. She found him in the spare room, and stopped in the door, staring at him predatorily for a moment.
Asra had his nose stuck in a book, one of the very few he was allowed to have when he did well.
Asra’s silvery hair was also pulled into a ponytail, making his neck easily exposed
Valiel jumped him, pushing him backwards off whatever he was sitting on and landing on top of him on the floor, pinning him between her knees. She was stronger than him by a huge margin, and taller to boot.
"Looks like you've been good…" Her voice was always overly lyrical, with a musical lilt whether she meant to or not. "Maybe I'll let you out for a bit tomorrow, hmm?" She had her face down by his ear, her breath ghosting over his skin.
Asra could feel his face light up at the attention
“ I- okay..” he studdered out helplessly, knowing what was coming next when valiel talked to him like this. He tilted his head a bit to the side, exposing his neck and clenching his teeth
She bit him, as usual, her needle sharp fangs piercing his skin effortlessly. Valiel kissed the bite, sucking on it to draw the blood.
If her kiss was a little more tender than normal this time, neither of them acknowledged it.
She pinned his hands at his side, her grip like iron. Grinding her hips down pinned him where he wasn't able to do anything other than squirm, which just added to her enjoyment.
Asra whimpered softly, the pain in his neck distracted him from everything else
After a bit, Valiel pulled back and licked the bite. It clotted quickly, and she licked the few drops of blood from her lips.
She sat up, and let go of Asra's hands, in order to look down at him from her position on his hips.
"So. What else did you do while I was gone?"
“ I- I read my books that you got me.. “ he said softly
The Skin-changer nodded approvingly. "Good, good. Wouldn't want them to go to waste." She looked at him a moment longer, before getting off and standing in a fluid motion. "Now get to bed. It's late."
“Yes ma’am,” he said respectively, his gentle yawn and tired eyes told the older woman that asra had stayed up way later than his body had wanted
She reached down and grabbed his collar, lifting him easily to his feet. It was something she did often, to remind him she could throw him around easily if the mood struck her. "I may need to start enforcing a bedtime, hm?" Valiel kept her voice low.
“N… No, I… I just wanted to see you today..” he said softly, his body trembling without his will.
There had been multiple owners who'd treated him like a punching bag, and while valiel never had, the trauma had still been set in.
Valiel extended her claws with a particular look on her face. She traced one down along his collarbone, not slicing, but definitely stinging a little, leaving a mark.
"I'll see you as much as you need, Asra." She leaned in. "Now. Sleep."
She nudged him off towards his small room with a little more force than necessary, not quite shoving him, but making sure he was moving.
Asra yelped before scurrying to his room, he laid down after changing though he knew hed do nothing but toss and turn
Valiel flitted back out into the night, enjoying the moonlight and the breeze. She was out till the sun began to rise, when she returned to the cabin. She went to her room, walking by Asra's room on the way. He had no door, so she could keep an eye on him at all times. He wasn't really sleeping well, and she decided to make sure he slept later. Tranquilize him, if she has to.
She walked into her own room and locked the door. She needed to rest.
Asra cleaned when the sun raised, making sure the house was spotless and ‘breakfast ‘cooked for the nonvampire residents in the in the house.
(oh there's more people. Ok)
Valiel didn't move from her sleep trance, resting her body after the intense feeding down in the the villages last night.
(just thought there'd be some maids so that way if asra got really sick cough cough, foreshadowing, cough cough that he could relax )
Asra smiled as some of the maids came in, though they scoffed and shoved him aside.
Most maids knew that the mistress would sleep heavily, so they could pick and poke at asra as rough as they pleased.
(oof, sorry. also valiel doesn't seem like the type to give days off cough cough foreshadowing cough cough XD )
Valiel woke up around 3, as the sun was past its highest point. She steppd out into the cabin, closing her door behind her, and noted the maids running around. "Where is Asra?"
“ he.. Ah.. Fell and busted his head, “ one of the maids lied and pointed to the medic room
Valiel rolled her eyes. Asra was a perpetual klutz.
She headed to the room in question, and found him.
"What did you do now?"
