(Alright)

Kronos was not a large organization. It was close-knit, and had close ties to the government. Their public relations were always excellent; they always seemed to say just the right statement to keep anyone from looking too closely. They also claimed everything they did was easy enoguh to the public to access. But if their database was hacked…the lie fell apart far too quickly. Too many layers of security for what they claimed to be.

Sonja, hacker extraordinaire, was currently plugged into their House. The House was their master hacking program, something they kept safe and sound, wired inside their chest in a way that would destroy them both if removed. House was smart, and a good friend to them, as well as the best damn program this side of the galaxy.

Currently they were sifting through Kronos's records, trying to find some sort of information to ruin them. They were a supporter of the Humans Before Bots Act, and well, that just couldn't be tolerated.

Then House came across something strange. It beeped, startling Sonja and causing them to press further. There was way too much security for an organization like this! And Sonja would know, they've hacked them all.

They came across some security feeds, watching the camera roll on a man sitting in a small, padded cell. He was taken out, then allowed back in in a few hours. Good thing about being a robot, you can process information instantly. They sped it up to current time, watching to see the man still in the cell, looking like he could cry but was too weary to do so.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus was curled a little bit, his head resting on his hands. The cell had been reinforced and created specifically so that he couldn't time jump out of it. He was stuck here unless someone else let him out. And even when he was let out, someone was always holding onto him, making sure he couldn't jump without someone else. Making sure he could never, ever escape.

He looked down at his hands, standing and pacing the small cell. There were no windows, and only two doors. One led out and one led into the bathroom. He supposed he should be grateful he even had a bathroom, and didn't have to wait for someone to come around and lead him to one.

Sonja set House loose on the cell, letting it analyze and hack into every nook and cranny of it. It was like nothing Sonja had seen before. They let House open the doors, and shut off Kronos's systems to allow for an easy escape. They also made a note of disabling the bolts that kept the bots stuck to their stations, in turn accidentally inciting a teensy weensy bit of a riot. Well, that should mess with Kronos well enough. "Okay House, you can retreat now." they smiled, pulling their consciousness away from Kronos's systems, leaving not a single trace of ever having been there.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah!)

Icarus straightened as he saw the doors open, and he frowned, cautiously approaching the doorway. "Hello?" He called softly, eyes flickering around. The doors never opened like this. Never. And…never without someone waiting on the other side. But the hallway was empty. Void of…well, anything. "Is anyone there?" He called, stepping forward into the hall and then cringing, as if expecting a blow for leaving his room.

The hallways was empty, save for a few bots rushing past to freedom. A message on the hallways screen: Get Out.

"House, that's mean. You're going to scare him."

"Bweeeedleep!"

"Its ominous! Here, let me…"

Message changed to: Leave, While You Still Can.

"Bloop."

"Oh, that's ominous too now? More than 'Get Out'?"

"Bleeeep!"

"That was rude."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus frowned a little when he saw the messages, cocking his head. Both were…rather equally ominous, but he started trying to find a way out of the place, trailing behind the bots and keeping an eye out for anyone else. The uniform he wore was a dove grey, without ornament.

House, per Sonja's direction, closed doors specifically to guide Icarus through the absolute Maze that was Kronos. Armed guards were stopped by cold metal, but unfortunately that meant several detours until they reached the sewage system. Smell didn't bother Sonja, they couldn't smell as they were an android and weren't that advanced, but they knew humans could and pitied this Icarus person, whoever or whatever he was supposed to be.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus wrinkled his nose as an awful stench rose up to meet him. Admittedly, maybe not that awful, but…it smelled like shit. Literally. He looked around, unsure what to do now. Someone had been guiding him, but who? And why?

"Ugh, no screens here and it looks like those Kronos grunts are going to bust that door any second now. Hey! Human! Get out of there!" they called to the monitor in front of them that displayed the current security feed. Hey, sometimes they liked to go old school.

"Alright, might as well just wait and see what happens." they shrugged.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus could hear the pounding on the door, and, making a face, slowly headed into the sewage channel. He was lucky; there was a small walkway where the sewage didn't reach, and he moved along that as fast as he could, eyes flickering.

Sonja closed the door quickly, deadlock sealing it from the security guards. Hopefully Icarus could find his way from there, fortunately for him Sonja's house was just above the sewage system. Good for an easy escape, and fast too. Hopefully they could guide him from there. Better send Riot down just in case.

The floating metal orb blinked green in affirmation to it's commands, heading down to locate Icarus. Once it found him, it glowed a low purple, flashing in Morse code a 'follow me!'

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus didn't actually understand Morse code. However, he figured that following a glowing light was as good a plan as any, and followed after it. He moved quietly, but his limbs seemed almost to flicker as he moved, as if they were half there and half somewhere else. As if with each step, time dragged on his limbs and tried to pull him back, down the rabbit hole and into the past.

The bot lead him through the tunnel, going up a chute where a ladder fell down before Icarus. "Hey, dude, come on up here! I don't know how long that door is gonna hold and I don't want soldiers up my ass, so hurry!" Sonja called down to Icarus.

Sonja helped him up the rest of the way, then withdrew the ladder and closed the hatch. "Well that was close. Riot, scan the area for any threats. House, initiate lockdown procedures. And as for me, well, I'm Sonja, and I'll be taking care of you. Icarus, was it? Nice to meet you." they extended their hand to him.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Icarus blinked, shaking their hand slowly. "I…yeah. Icarus." He replied, unsure what was going on. "Why am I…here?" He figured this Sonja must want his abilities. Everybody did. It was the only reason he existed, after all.

"Becuase you aren't anywhere else. You aren't human, are you? That's great. We should start a club of things that look human but aren't, you know? You're organic, I'll have to order some food for you. Please tell me what eating is like, I- sorry. Look, I was messing around with Kronos's systems. I saw you, in a rather unethical situation, and I decided to fix it." they said.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He blinked quickly. "I'm…a clone." He said slowly. "So…not technically human, I suppose." He ran his hands through his hair. "And you're…an Android?" He tried to make sense of the outpouring of words.

Deleted user

They nodded. "Yep! In the metal, baby! So, food. We should get you some. Tell me again, what is eating like? I've heard from more advanced androids that it's fantastic." they grinned.
