"good idea Dovey." Eevie replied, looking over her shoulder when their other father came over. She smiled and hugged Killian around the waist. She looked at the bow and arrows in awe, tracing the runes carved into the body of the bow itself and the Arrow heads. Killian grinned and pressed a kiss to her head. "We'll reach you both how to use them once you're a bit older, alright?"
Eevie pouted "but I'm fifteen, and I'm already using a sword!"
Killian sighed with an adoring smile "yes, but that is blunted. Besides, I'm sure Dovey will want to learn too." He reasoned gently, glancing up as David came over.
Eevie pouted but nodded her head excitedly, bouncing back off towards her sister.
Killian smiled at their daughters and then at his husband, quickly pressing a kiss to his hand. "I didn't keep you too long, did I?" He asked, leaning into the kiss at his cheek. He smiled at his husband's feathers and lightly trail a hand along the ones along his upper back.

Dove hopped over to their other father, smiling but with her eyes shining with impatience. “Bow and arrow’s cool,” she said, “but I wanna flyyyyy.” She tugged on Killian’s sleeve.
“We’ll let you fly birdie, don’t worry,” David sighed, setting his free hand on her head. “We’re coming.”
She loosened her grip on her father’s sleeve. “Okayyy.” She wandered back over to her sister.
He smiled at her, then couldn’t help but make a small cooing noise at his husband’s touch. “Not at all, but it seems Dove would beg to differ. Let’s not keep her either.”
Still keeping his arm around Killian, he started forward, leading them along in the direction of the forest.

@Fenrir

Killian laughed softly at their daughter's impacience. He watched as both Eevie and Dove raced ahead towards the forest beyond the castle's grounds. Killian glanced over at his husband when he heard the cooing and pressed a kiss to David's temple. "have I found a weakness of yours my precious bird?" He gently teased, following his husband and kids towards the treeline. The light shining through the canopy giving the place a magical look along with the lush vegetation around them. He looked around calmly, finding the scenery familiar and oddly comforting, most likely due to his elf heritage drawing him to a more natural setting.

(oml i'm so sorry for the spelling mistakes! I was exhausted by the time I wrote this, give me a sec to fix those (。>﹏<。) also sorry for the shorter responses, I'm sorta packed school atm so I'm not on as often and my responses are rushed a bit.)

@Tired-but-passionate

(No no no you’re okay! The same thing has happened to me before, I totally understand, I just thought it was funny sjiwkjlkwji. I also understand the school thing too, it’s totally fine if you can’t do long responses, I know that takes energy and time)

(Lol cool! And ofc)

“No,” David replied, but he couldn’t keep a straight face. His eyes squinted a little at the kiss, a smile gracing his lips.
He looked back towards the girls, keeping an eye on them both as Dove dashed into the trees, her arms spread wide apart. She seemed to be trying to move more like a bird in order to shift, but so far she was still human. David willed his eyes to shift; they enlarged slightly, and turned an amber color. Over the years and with practice, he’d gotten better at doing this so he could see at farther distances. This way, he could keep a better eye on their surroundings.
“Hey Dovey, do you think you can fly?” He called to her.
His daughter turned back at his call and shrugged. “I’m trying!” She flapped her arms and he chuckled; she looked a little silly.

@Fenrir

Killian tried his best to hide a laugh as he watched their youngest try to shift by flapping her arms. He peeked over in time to see David's eyes shift to lovely Amber color. He smiled softly gently squeezed his hand. "Go on ahead and help her. Eevie and I will explore around a bit. If you need us give a call." He pressed another kiss to David's cheek before gently pulling away and walking towards his daughters. He lightly ruffled dove's hair and kissed the top of her head. "You've got this Dovey." He encouraged with a grin, glancing up as he heard russling in the trees above, finding Evangeline clamoring up its branches. "Think you can make it up to your sister?" He asked, with a tilt if his head

@Tired-but-passionate

As he pulled away, David quickly pressed his own kiss to his husband’s knuckles before they separated. In a flash he transformed fully, then flew up to a branch above where Eevie was climbing, rustling his feathers and clacking his beak at her playfully. Then his head twitched up and he made a pealing call to his youngest down below.
Meanwhile, Dove stopped flapping her arms so she could hug Killian around his hips. “I’m trying,” she repeated, but one wouldn’t have been able to tell who she was talking to. She looked up at his question, seeing Eevie and David. “Um, I dunno.” She pulled away from him and called up, “Hi, sissy! Hi, daddy! Wait for me!”
She started flapping her arms vigorously, but it was futile. Then she remembered what they did last night, so she closed her eyes and tried to imagine herself as a bird. Once again, nothing changed. She was just about to try climbing up there herself, when she opened her eyes and found that she had shrunk; Killian looked like a giant next to her. She reached out her arm, but it wasn’t an arm anymore. She saw white feathers instead of pale skin. Warbling excitedly, she flew up onto her papa’s shoulder and nuzzled his ear before flying up to her other father and sister. David called excitedly to her as she came before she settled on the branch beside him.

@Fenrir

Eevie grunted as she carefully shifted around to settle on the branch directly below her father's perch. She smiled up at him and waved to her sister and dad down below. "Now I get why Dovey and you like it up here so much, it's really pretty." She said, craning her neck to see the very tops of the castle castle beyond the forest canopy. From her spit, she could also see the clear blue skies above, birds and other creatures flying through the clouds.
Killian grinned and crouched down beside her, giving the girl enough room to shift as he silently watched both her and the two in the trees. He tilted his head when he saw Dove shift her tactics, instead of flapping her arms, to standing still and relaxing. From one moment to another, the girl in front of him became a bird. KIillian broke out into a smile when he heard her trilling in excitement and stood from his position, hovering a hand over Dove as she fluttered up to his shoulder.
Eevie balanced on her branch and have a little squeal of joy when she saw her sister fly towards them. "You did it dovey! You shifted all by yourself!" She reached out and gently petted Dove's feathers

@Tired-but-passionate

After the two birds nuzzled each other, Dove chirped excitedly at her sister, ruffling her wings as she was petted. She fluttered down onto Eevie’s head, David twitching his own grayish head to peer down at them. Unable to stay still, Dove then went down to her sister’s shoulder, puffing up her chest feathers with pride. She hopped about, eventually flying back up to her father and warbling some more. She flew off, and David called after her before lifting his wings and following.

@Fenrir

Eevie giggled and continued to gently pet her sister's head, "such a smart pretty bird." She cooked, watching as Dove flew back up to their dad. It always took Eevie's breath away whenever she saw her family turn into such beautiful creatures. She scrambled down from the tree to her father waiting below. "They're flying off, we gotta catch up papa." She called, tugging at Killian's hand as she started into a jog. Lian glanced up and nodded with a smile, chasing after his daughter, always keeping an eye at their surrounding as they went deeper into the forest.

@Tired-but-passionate

She was excited, David could tell. He called to his daughter repeatedly so she wouldn’t go too far in her excitement. Unfortunately, it was difficult for him to keep up with her since his body was bigger and more suited for soaring through open sky. Thankfully, she perched at one point and waited for him. When he landed beside her, he clicked his beak and turned his head to see the rest of their family following behind. David made his piping call repeatedly to alert Killian and Eevie of their location, then noticed Dove flying down to the forest floor. He stayed where he was, as this was a good vantage point to watch her and the rest.
Dove, upon looking around, found a patch of colorful flowers below. They looked pretty, and she would probably find some seeds down there, so she left her father’s side. She hopped between the flowers, looking for a snack.

@Fenrir

(that is really cool! Never knew they sounded like that.)
Killian and Eevie followed a few yard behind the two birds, having a bit of a harder time tracking over the thick underbrush of the forest. Eevie nobly made her way ahead of Killian, wanting to explore further along. She's occasionally bounce back to Killian's side, silently tugging at her Papa's sleeve and point at some creature or another keeping them company among the trees. Killian smiled at his daughter's curiousity while also keeping an eye on any predator's that got particularly close to where dove or Davide were up in the trees. He silently shot off a few warning arrows, enough to scare the animal back into hiding but not close enough to hurt them. When Dove fluttered down from the trees to the bed of flowers, Eevie jumped on ahead to join her sister, airing the pretty flowers and making flower chains. Killian took a post among the shadow of the tree that Davud had perched on, arrow knocked into his bow at the ready just in case anyone or thing got the idea of taking advantage of a seemingly lonely little Dove.

@Tired-but-passionate

Dove chirped when her sister came over, nibbling on small seeds and fallen nuts she found. After eating her fill, she fluttered around Eevie, occasionally picking out flowers her sister could use.
David’s gaze sometimes drifted to Killian whenever he shot an arrow. He was transfixed by the strength of his grip when he pulled the bowstring back, how the arrow was like a shooting star through the undergrowth. At one point he noticed a large hawk eyeing the little dove, but all David needed was to give it a long, pointed stare and it eventually got nervous enough to fly away. Whether it somehow knew David was more than a simple looking kite or that it thought he had claimed the dove as his own prey, he wasn’t sure, but either way the hawk was gone. David clicked his beak in satisfaction.

@Fenrir

Eevie happily settled with Dove as she twined the flower stems together into ring, using extra flowers she and Dove had gathered to add more vume to the crown. "Bring one to Papa," Dove said, holding out a crown to Dove and pointing to where David was perched in his tree watching over them. Eevie stood with her owbbcrown and bounced over to where Killian was dutifully surveying the forest floor. She gently tugged at his shift and waved her hand. At his daughter's request, Killian knelt down and bowed his head for their princess. Eevie placed the circlet of flowers on her Papa's head with a proud smile. "I like this one better than your other crown." She said as he rose and smiled at his daughter. "Then i'll keep it on longer." He replied with a wink

@Tired-but-passionate

Dove chirped in understanding and took the flower crown in her beak. It was a little heavy, but she was able to get off the ground and carry it to the tree where her father was perched. He spotted her and cooed a small greeting as she landed beside him. The flower crown was clearly made for a human head, but David managed to drape it over himself anyway. He puffed out his chest feathers, striking a pose. Dove warbled in amusement, then flew down to the rest of their family. David managed to get the flower crown off before following her, the crown in his talons.
The white bird landed on Killian’s shoulder, clicking her beak and admiring his crown. When the kite landed, he shifted to human form and placed his own crown on his head.
Looking at his husband, he smiled with endearment. “These are beautifully made Eevie, lovely job,” he said, turning to her and patting her head, in between her small horns.

@Fenrir

Killian laughed softly as he extended his arm for Dove to land on. He gently stroked the bird’s feathers “Thank you my princesses.” He smiled softly as he offered his hand to her. “We should probably be heading back. The trial will be starting soon.” He said softly, glancing over at David as he shifted back to normal. “Unless you’d like to stay here. You don’t have to come along. This is probably more entertaining than a long, boring trial.” He suggested, wistfully glancing around. “I know I would.” He muttered with a small smile. Eevie shook her head slightly, leaning into David’s hand. “Nope! We’ll come with. Dad has to go with you anyways, right? And Dovey and me can keep practicing in the atrium. After a snack of course.” She giggled and gently scooped Dove up from Killian’s shoulder.
“We’ll be alright.” She reassured, tugging Davids hand in the direction of the castle.

@Tired-but-passionate

David let out a small sigh at the prospect of heading back. Then he turned to Killian, about to object that they couldn’t leave the girls here by themselves, but then Eevie spoke up. “Oh,” he said, “Alright then. What do you think, Dovey?”
The bird gave a little chirp as her sister scooped her up. David got the impression that she was confused. She looked ready to fly away again.
“We’re going inside,” he told her, “Daddy and Papa have to work.”
At this, she seemed to understand. David could see her movements relaxing, and she stayed in Eevie’s hand as she pulled their father along. His arm naturally inserted itself through his husband’s, pulling him along too.
