In the particular novel I'm working on right now, my government is ruled by the immortal man who created the universe, and he is the one with all control. My characters haven't even thought to overthrow his rule, but I guess that might be a plot twist… Anyways, what type of government do you like writing (or just happen to find your story take itself that way) about?

I don't have a particular one I like - there are multiple styles of government (depending on the region) in my universe but they all have to work together to survive. But I like empires because you can have your character be like DO THE THING and you don't have to explain about the "how" so much. Like there's just someone designated who does that "thing." I guess that makes me a lazy writer. Oops.

I like writing government that come across as a 'Big Brother' type of evil, but are actually extremely effective.
They take children away for the first 16 years of their life? The government is teaching them to be the next scientists and engineers, raising a better educated people than any other country in the world.
They take possession of all bodies after death? A system to make organ harvesting much more effective, so more people can get a healthy transplant.
They constantly monitor everyone's houses? That monitoring system automatically informs the police of any break-ins, bringing B&E as well as theft conviction rates to nigh 100% Criminals can't get away if the government can sense everything they do.

So yeah, I like my benevolent, micromanaging governments.

In my alternate world fantasy, the two main kingdoms are monarchies, but when I mention other kingdoms I want to incorporate other government types and get creative.

I don't really have any particular favorites. It all depends on what I want a particular government to do, how it will function in the story, and what feels interesting to me at the time I'm coming up with one. Something I have noticed though is that I tend to write several vague governments in my stories. Like, a country that isn't really under a unified government and describing how they rule themselves is difficult.

I personally like writing dictatorships, any kind of government that is restrictive and controlling is my thing… i don't know why though, maybe because i'm a control freak lol
