Gladly! Any kind in particular? For example, physical, emotional, or mental?

Okay. So, do you want this to be anything trauma-based? For example, spine injury may lessen or even paralyze the person's lower body.

I’m really interested in disease and disabilities that don’t come from trauma. Mostly because you don’t see enough characters like that. So perhaps something they were born with.

Would you like it to be a well-known disorder, like, for example, cancer or asthma? Or would you like something that is rare and obscure?

EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) is not the most well known, but it is invisible. It has various types and is often confused with other things on the Hypermobility spectrum. It is a disability that is usually seen in women but can appear in men too. It is genetic, but the gene causing it has not been found as far as I know. The disability is characterized by hypermobile joints and a deficiency in collagen (connective tissue) that results in pain and repeated injury.

There's also Osteogenesis Imperfecta, meaning the patient has imperfect bones and is prone to fractures. The survival rate of this though is extremely slim unless you want to mess with the science in your story. It has also been found as hereditary and, in mild cases, is invisible for the most part.

CP or Cerebral Palsy is also another misunderstood physical disability and can be invisible. It affects movement, posture, or posture. It often results from a brain injury during its development.

There is also asthma and cancer.

A lot of them can be found with a mere search in Google and then it'll lead you to some pretty credible websites. I can link you to some resources if you wish.

Also if anyone has conditions to add to this chat, it would be much appreciated! Just kind of compiling ideas there for anyone who might want to use them.

Honestly, you can just go surfing through Mayo Clinic and find them.

Sorry, I'm not too active on Notebook. How about a trauma-related emotional condition?

Deleted user

(Don't worry, I'm not either) PTSD and C-PTSD. Symptoms are flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance of triggers, fear of loud sounds, etc. (PTSD is less severe and associated, usually, with only one event while C-PTSD is repeated trauma usually)

BPD is also trauma-related to an extent and also genetic. Caused by emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, impulsivity, and impaired social relationships.

There are also phobias. Irrational fear of certain things.

as well as ptsd you have dissociative disorders with a due to repeated childhood trauma that the victim felt they might not survive.

Hey kiddos!
I have severe depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, PTSD, and a personality that I don't really discuss online.
I'm also on medication for these issues, and I'm open to talking about any of them, if anyone wants info on the illnesses themselves and/or what it's like being on medication for them!

Oh, I also have diagnosed Eczema {lol} and a condition that makes everything in my legs turn in, causing injuries and difficulties.

If anyone would need that lol

I was going to mention the Dissociative Disorders, but they specifically asked for Emotional-Trauma based, and Dissociative Disorders are more of complex psychological disorders.

I, personally, have the diagnoses of Stereotypic Movement Disorder, OCD, Several Phobias, Excoriation, Anxiety, Narcolepsy, Insomnia, and many more.
